Want to stop repeated telescam phone calls?
Try these alternatives:

1.  Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail.  Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.

2.  If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.

3.  If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group".  Assign the scammer's phone number to that group.  Also assign a "silent ring" to that group.  You will not hear future calls from that number.

4.  Google NoMoRobo, and visit their site, to see if your phone system is compatible with that system.  (It may or may not be compatible).

5.  Contact your phone service provider.  They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.

6.  If you buy things online, you might want to google "Amazon phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon has to offer for landlines or smartphones. Similar devices are for sale on eBay and other online stores.

Do not want this number calling me

Yes, I recently filled out  an online form for Rent-to Own properties.

I got a call from this outfit about a rent to own home which I didn't contact then. I think there a scam and have contacted the Federal Trade Commission about them for those that have been getting such call etc. you can send in a complaint at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/index.shtml or call tollfree 1-877FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357 TTY: 1-877-653-4261

I feels like they are probably identity theives.  I was just trying to look at some housing listings online but they called two or three times a day for the next few days.  Never would show me any listings, they said I would get listings in my e-mail.  They kept calling back trying to get more credit information even though I didn't even want a mortgage, they said they wanted to help me clear up any credit problems preemptively.   I google "housing credit scam" or something like that and it looks like that's an avenue identity theft has been known to travel.

Get calls from this number daily...they leave no message. Please make it stop

Rent to Own. Sometimes you will get e-mails from them as well, as they advertise same.

wife left email addressee on realtor.com to look at house's and somehow they got my work number and are calling there

This number keeps calling, I answer and they hang up! I'm in NC.

Oh, and I'm in Southern Indiana.  I wondered if they placed calls based on state/region...?

I've received two calls from this number two days straight, yesterday and today.  Both times the call went to voicemail, but no message was left.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.

That is exactly what happened to me.  I went online for Rent To Own Properties and then the phone calls started on the autobot.

Just got a call from this number, Sunday 1/6/2013, let it got into voice mail , they left no message.

There's never anything at all going on at the other end.  No sound at all and the line will stay connected as long as I let it.  Weird.  Gotten 241 calls from this number in 9 months.

This number keeps calling daily, including Sat and Sunday.  They called twice a day, everyday, they call my home number first, then my cell, weird, weird, weird.

They never leave a message.  They call at 8am, 10am, 12pm, 6pm, 630pm on a daily basis.  

Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How do I stop it?

Getting daily phone calls from this number.  Even tho I've never answered it they keep calling.

I keep getting calls from this number, and my phone number is new. They need to stop calling because it's annoying.
I think they are looking for the previous owner of this number.

They called twice a day for several days in a row.  I answered it both times today, no one on the other end.  I called the number back and got a customer service rep, I think it was one of those rent to own joints.  Told them to remove me from the calling list.  The name associated with my number in their system was not mine, guess it's time to check the credit report.  They said it may take 24 hours to remove my number from their call list.

Caller asked for Sharon.  I informed him that no "Sharon" lives here.  He apologized and hung up.  Faint cross talk in the back grounded sounded like a phone boiler room.

BECAREFUL! Someone signed me up for this rent to home place and has STOLEN MY IDENTITY to buy a home!!!!

Please let this company know that you did not apply. and Check your credit score and make sure no one is steeling your identity.

They signed up for this with my full name and number and a fake email address. and I don't know how much more information they are giving out or where else they are inputting my info.

I called them back and when they answered I didnt say anything for a couple seconds and hung up.  Sometimes its useless but it still feels good to turn the tables especially when a live erson answers!! :))

Home Ownership Group - Rent to Own company.

This number has been calling me at 8am and 6pm. I called this number back and got a guy who works for a company called "rent to own" I was checking out their websit a few days ago through craigslist rental/housing section. I forgot I had submitted my number to them in regards to a rental. the guys was nice, gave me some advice on how to improve my credit score and that was it.

this number has called several times usally 1 time a day but today was 2 tiems so far and it is early morning....I do not answer callers I do not know. thisis really starting to get annoying...
