This number is definitely from Orbitz!

Recently booked flight with Orbitz. A week after my travel was concluded I'm getting multipal calls from Orbits, all calls blocked by Quick-Heal call/SMS App, works great!

Why are u calling and how did u get my unlisted number. i will be on the phone with my lawyer

This was a call from Orbitz as a reminder of a flight later today.

If you have marked that you wish to be notified, they call at the interval you have selected. I choose to have them call 3 hours before my flight. In addition, if there are any changes after that, i.e. a gate change, they will call again.

Before you get all upset, remember people make typographical errors so they may have typed in the wrong number. It may also be that the person doesn't want Orbitz to have their 'real' phone number so they just type in some random number.

received 3 calls already this morning from Oritz regarding flight status updates.  Never used Orbitz and this is the first time this has happened. Not a bother yet.

I have got a call in the middle of the night 2:24 am, Oct 8, 2011 from the phone number 888-587-0496. I have been horror-struck as my parents are old and I tough that something happened with them. I do not wish for anybody this kind of feeling.
The call comes from Orbitz (as they left a message). I have a reservation by Orbitz but with this kind of behavior it is the last time I make reservation through this company.

This is an automatic call schedule notifier from ORBITZ.

Orbitz can go shove it. It's been seven calls in the last 24 hours. I don't have any flights with them and am being told my "flight" is delayed, on time, and delayed. I don't care! Take me off your stupid calling system.

As for the above comment about being mad at the previous cell-number owner I have two things to say. I've owned this number since Verizon came out with cell phones. Two...shut up, you're obv an employee and sick of people bitching at you on the phone.

I tried to disable the automated response with the orbitz operator but she could only find my number under my own account, not an additional one. I find it hard to believe that a person is taking the same flight two days in a row ( as I was called four times in two days). This clearly must be a computer problem.  Wish it would end!! These calls come at 3 and 5 am every time!!

They called twice in a row at about 5:30am.  I've never booked a flight myself, nor has my family ever used Orbitz.

I will confirm that it is a complimentary call from Orbitz with details about departure and arrival times for an upcoming flight I scheduled.

For those people who are saying they've never used Orbitz ... your number may still be in the Orbitz database from the person who had the phone number before you and booked a flight with Orbitz while they owned the phone number. I suggest you get in touch with Orbitz customer service and ask them to locate your phone number from the dialer's database.

It does no good to get angry with Orbitz. They are only using the most recent telephone info they have for their current customers. If there's anyone to be angry at, it's whoever owned your phone number before you did ... that is the person who hasn't bothered to update their contact information with Orbitz and is the source of your angst.

Had the same problem. I started getting calls from 8885870496 at odd times about flight status. I called Orbitz and somehow they had my cell no in their database with a different name. Asked them to disable the automated calls and they kindly helped by removing my number. Hope I will stop getting the calls now.

I keep getting a recorded call from 1-888-587-0496 Which is Orbitz and I have NEVER called or given them my number.  I got two calls today and several weeks ago around January 7th I got several calls from them - one of them at 5:30 am (it woke me and my husband up).  I HATE these calls and wish they would stop.   It is a cell phone and registered with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

I just booked a call thru CheapTickets.com and got this call several minutes later. I didn't pick up because I am trying to run away from my past, and you never know who's trying to contact you after all these years in hiding, but better safe than sorry.

Now that I think about it, it is orbitz confirming my rtrn flight I believe.  However, I will input information on another number whenI get home.

This number 888-587-0496 is very suspicious o me. They are committing fraud by impersonating a law enforcement detective.  I wish the FBI and Better Business Bureau, and Homeland Security to look into this.  When ever I ask them to let met speak with their supervior, they immediately say no, that I will nee several lawyers and I am going to be charged with something.  They speak with a foreign accent.

Just got a call, didnt answer 'cause I didnt recognize it.  It was just an automated message from ORBITZ for my flight in two hours.

I book a fly in orbitz, 2 horus before my fly, they call me and lef a message. Safe no problem.

Yes it is Orbitz care line with flight info.  If somebody is a member of orbitz but fails to update contact info when there are changes others get called by mistake.  I know this because my husband took my old phone and number when we married and I did not update my contact info.  He was notified as to my flight time/delay, gate #, etc.  Also if someone else is flying in they may have there flight information sent to you via phone.  I do this with my daughter so she knows if my flight is on time or not.

It was in fact Orbitz. I about flipped this morning when I got the call since it happened two hours before my flight just to let me know nothing was wrong, I always think the worst
