got this call saying a court order would be served at my address on a law suit.  I agreed to pay per month.  now I cannot reach a company called Luchey and assoc.   don't know what to do or think

The number does not answer with a person, just a recording asking for you to leave a message.  I am in the "Civil Investigations Unit" with reference to a "Restraining Order" !  I was asked to forward to my attorney.  The caller is ashamed to leave a name or answer the phone live.  Remember, legal action usually comes in the mail, certified!  As far as I can tell, this is a SCAM.  My purpose in life is to JAM up their voice mail form now till forever.  Help me.  Their number is 888-591-5942.  Thanks.

Had this number call me indicating that they were part of a "Civil Investigation Unit" and informed me the "Order to show cause contains a restraining order".  I immediately contacted and provided the Civil #, in which the individual on the other line informed me that this was a debt collector for Chase.  I listened to his excuse as to why they state " a restaining order" is in the voicemail and that; "he wished it wasnt there".  I then proceeded to alert him that not only was this a misrepresentation, but that I would be contact the BBB. He infromed me that I couldnt sue or make a claim, because they CAN put a "Civil Restraining Order" out on people to have them arrested.  Spoke with an attorney, she wants the information, so that she can follow up in a legal venue.  CAUTION!!!  No one can put a restraining order on you for debt.  They can Civil Sue, put a lein or Garnish wages, but nothing associated with formal charges.

Recording saying I have civil papers that need to be served the aff number is 101649 and they say to forward this to my attorney and a restraining order has been issued.

I acted like I was a different person they said hold on let me see if your on our system and they said I was and that I owed 170000 to them I gave them bogus info and they havent called back

messeage said this is a civil investigations unit we are contactin you in regards to a complaint being filed against you fist they want the claim and affdavit number 95749 where you have the name of respondents in a court action and must call hey 8855915942 please forward this to your attorney in that the order to show cause contains a restraining order you or your attorney will have 24 to 48 hours to respond to oppose this matter the claim and affidavit number one again is 95749 call 8885915942 thank you and good luck. i am tired of getting calls like this it is all bogus

claimed i was due in court for a restraining order. and to have my attorney call them. going to report it

They called me numerous times before I got so fed up the last time they called me I acted like I was a sex line never again did they call me I think I scared them after I said I was a tranvestite domina wanting to shove my pole up their a** and make them look like a shishcabob

Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf requires 3rd-party debt collectors to give debtors written notice of debt (the key word is *shall*) :
"§ 809. Validation of debts
(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing?
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;

Received a voice mail from this company with a case number and number to call.  Called and argued with them for an hour - they said I owed 4,600 but could pay them 855 today to clear it up.  When I asked for their address they wouldn't give it to me.  When I asked to speak with supervisor I was hung up on.  Called back, same thing but the new person gave me slightly different amounts that I owed plus 2 more serious charges of fraud and even a penal code.  When I asked if they could give me any information to prove they were a legitimate legal company and told them I was going to call the police they hung up on me again.

I received a message at work stating that there has been a case filed against me, case # 63002 and to provide my attorney with the case number and this number 888-591-5942.

I received a call a couple of minutes ago. They would not give me info. They did know my home address. I called back twice to get their address and name of the company and was hung up on twice!

If you truly did get a "summons", mind providing some info:
What was the name of the company that sued you? What is their contact information?
The "summons" would have all of their contact info and names of the parties involved, you don't have to give us your info, just the Plaintiff info.

You said, "This just happen to be one I slipped up on." and "I pay my bills", so you mean that they filed a civil suit against you, but never tried to contact you to collect the debt beforehand?

You said, " I recieved both [receipt and paid in full letter], gave them to my attorney, he took it to court and got everything dismissed.".
So let me get this straight, you paid the debt in full, but the plaintiffs still went through with the court case?
Sense you did satisfy your debt, but were still sued, did you counter sue to recover costs? Attorney fees are quite high, probably many time over what your debt was.....


So, yeah, if you could answer above, that would be great.

Got a call from them about a summons about a month ago. Also had a summons delivered from this company my attorney just told me to handle everything. They supplied me with a reciept and valid debt letter. Not sure what everyone else is going through but I pay my bills ontime. This just happen to be one I slipped up on. I would advice taking care of it and have them send you a reciept and paid in full letter. I recieved both, gave them to my attorney, he took it to court and got everything dismissed. I pay my bills. So I'm never really worried about debt collectors

I got a call from this number claiming i written a bad check and im going to be summons for 4,335.00 they offer me to pay 600 dollars and ask me for my banking information i did not give them my banking information he threaten if i  dont pay by tommrow i would be summons and i would be facing to pay the other amount that was given they did not give me no information on this company i suppose to owe and the guy kept telling me to hold on so he can talk to the lawyer,this number and company is fraud do not give your information out !!!

I rec call from this num today. Said I had a summons out for me and 3000 dollars would clear up matter. IAn automated message was left at work at first and not with me with an associate i work with. said to call immediately to stop from being picked up..

Received a call at work about 30 min ago. Claimed I had written a bad check. Wrong. They claimed to call from North Carolina and a summons would be served. However they had no clue where I lived and they had no case # This is a scam. Do not provide any info to them AT ALL!!!   I have been dealing with these types of calls all year. They get your number from the internet through various ways. Be careful.

I received the same message.  I am not going call back the number but I sure would like to know what company.  Someone told to let the police know.  But I am not sure if they can or will do anything about it.
They better not call my relatives.  I have also notified the fair debt collection attorneys/  THey told me ignore and don't give any information.  Kimmel and Silverman are the lawyers.

I have also received a message about the pending suit and restraining order. They give this number 888591542 and an affidavit number. It is surely a scheme to defraud; otherwise there would be verifiable information to a courthouse or official business.

LM a message saying I have a pending civil suit against me referencing an affadavit number and claims there is a restraining order against me and gives me 24 hours to have my attorney return the call.

Not only have they called me, but have contacted other family members as well.
