How do these people get my unlisted cell phone number?
| Donna Collins 2011-06-06 21:05:48 Unknown |
I got this text message on my phone "cash4business@yahoo.com//you have been pre-qualified for up to $200,000k to expand your business. No personal guarantee required. Call 888-599-2127."
I just barely got this text at 11:35 a.m. western mountain time, Oct. 29th, 08.
Considering the average household income and circumstance...I think this is a pretty rotten thing to do. If it's a scam, I pray to God whomever is doing it rots in hell! May they suffer ten times the pain and frustration they have now inflicted upon others!!! You shouldn't do this to people who is having money problems that just isn't cool.

I received the same message. i do not pay for texts so i am not sure if it's tmobile that is the scammer. i also called the number and spoke with someone but i was at work and did not have time to hear his entire explanation(even though i was the one that called). i told him i would call him back (merely because my small business could use the money) but i have not. i am sure it is too good to be true but am still curious....He gave me his name and extension number.

| Michelle 2011-06-06 21:05:48 Unknown |
The text was from getcash@yahoo.com which of course does not exist! Offering a $200,000 line of credit, if I needed that kind of cash, like I'd reply to a text message anyway! There for one can not contact them to tell them to remove you from any list!

I have TMobile prepaid and received the same text message. I've had their service for over a year and have been pleased, but if this is what I have to put up with I'll go somewhere else once my minutes are up.

I just received this same text message and I am also on the National Do Not Call Registry. My text used a 4-digit ID of "3575" and gave the same txt and phone number as the messages stated in the above complaints. The # to call, 1-888-599-2127 was answered by a pre-recorded voice identifying the business as D2B, whatever that means. These people are scammers trying to get you social r security and bank account numbers. It is annoying to receive a SPAM text message when we are the one paying for the text, but come on people. It is not T-Mobile doing the spamming. What they hey kind of logic is that anyway? Be smart about it if you expect to be taken seriously. And no matter whom your carrier is, if you receive a text (even that you don't open), you pay for the incoming charges even if it only applies toward your texting plan. That's the way cell works. But I do agree, the real scammers are a royal pain. They won't even use a real number. You can't identify them via that 4-digit code. What a joke. These are con-artists who move from one place to another as fast as you can sneeze. You catch one and a new one is born. Get a texting plan, call your carrier to see if a block can be placed on your number for incoming texts like that (or change your number) until the cellular carriers find a way to stop the madness. But this is not a plan by the carriers to make us do (buy) anything. The cellular companies are simply too large to do any such thing. How would they get 100 per cent compliance from their employees on that? Come on!

These are con-artists who move from one place to another as fast as you can sneeze. You catch one and a new one is born. In the meantime, get a texting plan if the incoming texts are adding up to more than having (at least) the smallest texting feature (5 or 6 bucks) and it is a feature that you can remove and add on per your billing cycle. I usually only get 3 or 4 a month, so it is cheaper for me to pay for the individual texts at this time. You might call your carrier to see if a block can be placed on your number for incoming texts like that (or change your number if it comes to that) until the cellular carriers find a way to stop the madness. But this is not a plan by the carriers to make us do (buy) anything. The cellular companies are simply too large to do any such thing. How would they get 100 per cent compliance from their employees on that? Come on! Would you do that for your boss/company? Most of us would not. And how about if you dial a wrong number? Or answer an incoming one? Is that ALSO T-Mobile's fault? No, but those calls go against your minutes and you pay for them in that way, or are charged money for them if the calls are not withing your "free calling time". These scum bag scammers just use some online service that allows them to send multiple text messages and hide their identity. Just because you are a T-Mobile subscriber does not make this T-Mobile's fault. Yet T-Mobile does offer ways to help out or lesson the blow if it gets too large. But you have to call them, identify the issue at hand and don't yell an scream at them! No, I don't work there, but if you are the cashier at the grocery, is it YOUR fault (as a cashier) if the prices aren't to your liking? Think about it.

Oops I made a mistake call their number 8885992127 from a PAY phone that costs them an extra 35 cents per call. Thank you to everyone who calls and helps put them out of business.
DO NOT call from your cell phone that just gives them another number to harvest.
If anyone knows the proper federal agency to complain to about this please post info.
