You are not an extension by any means. Also, not just business, I had a residential account today, cust was extremely irate because half of his order was missing. Par for the course with a vendor.

Might be the dumbest thing I ever heard. An advocate? Not a chance, they are simply making a SALE and could care less if they do it properly.

A man called claiming he was from Verizon and wanted to "review" my current plan to see if he could save me 20%.  I work from home and my business phone is the same as my home # so I knew it was a scam.  I then told him that I had a problem with one of my phone outlets and wanted to know if he could set up an appointment to have someone come out.  He said "yeah..I'll make a note of it on your chart" and then hung up on me.  SCAM SCAM SCAM.  Not sure what information he was looking for but I can certainly smell something fishy.

Well, considering that our offices have not had an account with Verizon for at least 1 year, why would you call to "review" my account.  I know you work for a subcontractor of Verizon.  When we had an account wth Verizon, all we had to do was make a call ourselvs to have the account reviewed.  And it was free!  Call it a scam or call is a solicitation.  Don'tcall us, we'll call you!

NOT A SCAM!!!!!!!! Ok for one theres nothing fishy about it so i dont know what your smelling but, its not a SCAM,SCAM,SCAM.... I actually work there and we are account specialist working for verizon... to review peoples accounts.. you can look it up in Verizon Sources you will find Gryphone which has a CONTRACT with verizon to make the calls for them... Its a Free Review which usually cost at the least 50 dollars an hour usually... so all we are doing is tryin to satisfy verizon customers and keep them on the same term agreements so they save money and stay at a cheap rate... IN NO WAY IS GRYPHONE ONE A RESALER... sp yeah thats whats up so theres no SCAM its just a call for a review..

they called and left a message to call and that they were from verizon. When I call that number, the answering program was very carefully worded using term "agent' very carefully but never say verizon. I hung up and threw the message away.

"Trish" called our New York office "from Verizon" asking for an employee that left 2 years ago, and wanted our address (?).  That office recently moved to new offices in Manhattan, and Verizon took care of all the Telecom details, so they knew all the information.  Our receptionist in NYC said "Trish" needed to call the home office in CHicago.  Trish said "have them call me" and gave this number... which never gets answered.

Hey Frank,
This is what I found on the Verizon site about companies like yours.
Look real close at #1.  I was there in Oregon when you stopped by to train new employees and creeped out, and hit on every female there, regardless of age. I hope this helps clear up any misconceptions about Metro One, I mean Lasso NW no I mean Gryphone.

As the CEO of Gryphone Telecom Consulting, I can assure you that we are in fact a Verion Solution Provider, this can be confirmed on Verizon.com. We are not a reseller of Verizon but more an extension of their direct sales force. While most phone companies have their direct sales targeting larger business, they utilizes companies such as ours to assit with the small and medium business marketplace.  Gryphone is a Massachusetts based company with partners companies all across the United States. I hope this clears up any misconceptions there may be about us and our relationship with Verizon.

Same deal, said they could get us a cheaper rate on our Verizon business line.

Even IF it is legitimate, I would not do it.  Verizon should lower its obscene fees for everyone, not make us play games.

I already use some non-Verizon VoIP phone providers (such as CallCentric, Optimum Voice from Cablevision, and Voip.MS)   These companies will save you lots of money without Verizon's crap.

You can go here to Verizon's website and look at:

https://www22.verizon.com/onesourcesystem/unp ... dvzpartner.aspx

The company you're getting a call from is Gryphone Telecom Consultants.  They helped me save $211 each month for the same services, and I'm still a Verizon customer and not with a re-seller or billed through a third party.  Just thought it would help if people knew the truth.

This in my opinion is a scam...  They probably will slam you once you give them your info.  They did not care we were on the DNC list as they called back a few more times after stating the fact.  They said they were my account manager for Verizon wireless.... I'm a direct dealer for Verizon Wireless... pretty sure I can manage my own account.  When asked which company they were from, they said Metro 1... hmmmmm, that's a pager company out of Sacramento, CA.  Asked for email and callback info... they wouldn't provide the info.  Have reported to the DNC website and reported to Verizon Direct Manager.

These people are not scammers. They are doing you a favor.  All you people who think this is a telemarketer or a con job are wrong.  Verizon does contract out to this company.  They have the same power as a Verizon Employee when it comes to reterming contracts, swithing services, upgrading accounts, and anything of that nature.  For example, Verizon does not notify there customers if there current contract for a phone line expires.  When this contract expires there price increases.  This can either be no big deal to some companies who do not closely monitor there telephone accounts or it can make some angry because of this "random" price increase. All these people want to do is see if you are in that situation where your contract expired and you dont know it or if they can get you better prices and services to make you a happy Verizon customer.  THIS IS NOT A SCAM.  THEY ARE NOT RE-SELLERS.  I forgot to mention that the reason they call twice is first to ask for permission to view your account to see if they can save you money, nothing else, it is the law and company policy that no Verizon employee can just look at your account with out your permission to do so, thats why Verizon never tells you when your in this situation.  THESE PEOPLE ARE CALLING TO HELP YOU, although it may be annoying this is true.  I know this because I WORK FOR VERIZON.

I called back == answering machine, no company name.  They told me they worked for Verizon, said to look on the Verizon web site.  I said "go ahead."  He said my account was complicated, and he would call me back.  Good thing I checked out this site.

One thing.  When he first called and asked for the account holder by name (let's just say Franz Ferdinand), I told him that Franz was my dog and that we just used that name to fool telemarketers.  He didn't think it was funny.

Gman08 is on other websites promoting this scam!! He has admitted that he works as an agent. Trust me, this is a scam. I have talked with our Verizon rep. They are looking into this business to get it shutdown. Do not allow them to look at your information!!!! Contact your Verizon rep.
Nice try Gman08- you might want to use a different user id on the other website complaining about your business practices.

You are all completely out of your mind! Verizon has many solutions providers. These guys are authorized by Verizon to review their business accounts for their customers, (as seen on the official Verizon website)and try to reduce your bill. I saved over $1400 a year working with one of the agents. He was able to view all of my account information, and put together a calling plan that was way better, and a lot cheaper for me. He did tell me they were contracted by Verizon to do the reviews, but that that's actually better than having them do it, because they are an advocate for you. These guys really helped out a lot, give them a break.

Strange call--called our office, asked to speak with "whoever is in charge of your business family...hold on" and then hung up. When I called back, got an answering machine that stated it was customer service, but never identified itself or what they do. Big bogus con job, IMHO.
