Must be the end of the month, I got the same type of call on Friday, no arrangements allowed all in full or get arrested for non payment. I offered a payment date, and they just kept threating, I told them gold luck and hung up! What a joke these guys are

Called asking for someone who no longer lives in my house. Told me she could not tell me what the call was about. She also told me that I have the my brother's number. It is a pay as you go phone so he is always running out of mins. What makes her think that I am going to tell my brother to call her and plus she said she "couldn't" tell me who she worked for. I also had to accept the phone call so it sounded like it was from a company or person calling collect.

A RECORDING WITH A FEMALES VOICE: "Please return my call at 1 at your earliest convenience. This call is from Portfolio Recovery Associates. Again the number is 1. This communication will be with a debt collector in an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose." **CLICK**

Simple way to stop this call: If you owe the bill "I will handle the bill with another party do not call again" If you do not owe the bill: "I dispute any charge related to ME, MY PERSON, you are required to verify the person who currently is at this number; do not call again" Under the fair consumer credit act they can NOT allowed to call again; if they do you can file a complaint at your local police department. Each time they call after that; file another complaint. Eventually you police department will call them and warn them if they keep calling charges will be filed. That tends to shut them up.

They sure are prodigious dialers, all day, at every conceivable hour, sometimes twice in rapid succession. A pox on their house. :-P

I got a message like everyone else from Ken. I called and a rude woman whom I could barely hear told me it is a Chicago collection agency . She asked for someone else, I told her it's not me, and we'll see what happens. People should know that in many states collection agencies are not allowed to leave their purpose for calling on a message - this is to protect your privacy. I'm not defending this guy, but don't assume the worst because someone leaves a cryptic message like that. It might be legit.

The caller asked me was this my address I told him no, then he asked "is this you last four of your SSN, I asked him why, then I said if that is not my address I wasn't going to tell him what my last four was". I don't even know these people. And I do not live at the address he gave me.

Calls everyday. I answered once and told them to take me off their list. If the call goes to the machine or I answer without saying a word they hang up. So it is a VOX operation that tells and operator that a real person is there. Ever notice you have to say hello twice? These guys have programmed equipment to do their jobs. Basic junk mail on the phone. Give them no information, not even your name. Or answer with "Department of Justice, can I help you".
