Received a voice message from this number saying they wer bank of america and I needed to contact them regarding important servicing on my account.  I do have a BOA card, so called.  The guy said they were updating customer records and needed to verify my identity.  He asked my birthdate and i said I wasn't comfortable giving him that information.

He said he'd verify who he was and gave me the balance of my credit card.  For a moment I thought he was legit and gave my birthdate. Then he started asking about my current employer and salary.  I hung up.  Clearly this was a scam.  Glad I didn't give out more personal information.

This caller IS calling on behalf of Bank of America to update information about you and your account, in my case my credit card account. It is an outside service, so they probably won't leave a good message (they didn't on the first call, the second call I answered).

Accounts can be flagged for review, most likely due to a change in payments, credit report, outdated information, etc. If you are the person named in the "recording", the representative will only ask you to confirm your last 4 numbers of your SSN. They have full access to your BofA account information after that. In my case, they updated my employment information (they verified the employer on my original application) to make sure I still qualify to retain my credit limit.

This is NOT a scam. You might want to call to make sure your information is up to date, so your account is not affected.

They just called and said that they were from Bank of America.  Ask for my date of birth, street address and ss#.  I informed her that I didn't feel comfortable with providing all of the information.  She in turn said that I could call them back.  When I called Band of America directly, they informed that the call was not from them.  ALSO, THEY WOULD NOT BE ASKING ALL OF THE SECURITY QUESTIONS WHEN THEY CALL YOU.
This call was fa scam!!!

Just received this same message.  Called the number and got put on hold like the others have said.  Don't know how they got my number but I'm sure it's easy enough.  Did not talk to anyone.  Have forwarded emails to the Abuse address.  Haven't done a Customer Satisfaction survey.

These scammers left a voicemail for me this morning. Same scam as previously reported: They leave this phone number 888-615-7168 to call back stating that they are from "Bank of america", but I checked with Bank of America directly, and there is no problem with my account, and they said that is not any of their phone numbers.

SCAMMER. DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE!

THIS IS NOT BANK OF AMERICA AS THE CALLER STATES.

We received a call from these con artists yesterday.  They claimed they were the credit card servicing area from BOA.  They asked my husband for his mother's maiden name so they could be sure they were speaking to the correct person.  Not a good idea. My husband asked the caller for his name and the account number he was telephoning about.  Of course, he could not give that information as my husband would not give them anything.  Too funny.  My husband contacted BOA with the telephone number of the creeps.

They called me this morning at 8:54AM. Said they were from Bank of America, and they asked me my date of birth and my zip code. I would not give them the info, and I asked what credit card this was about, and they said they couldn't give me that info due to security. I called back the number, and it clicked like it was being forwarded, and then a recording answered saying it was Bank of America, but anyone can put that on a recording.

Telemarketer
Called customer satisfaction department of BOA today .  About an hour later I received a call from this number asking for a response to a "Servicing Request".
I think BoA's Customer Satisfaction Number is hacked and some fraud company uses the data.  Makes me wonder what else they can find out considering Customer  Satisfaction asks you for personal details to deal with your complaint.

I received a call from this number claiming to be about my Bank of America card.  The caller said that this was a "service call" and asked me to call them back at 888-615-7168.  Instead, I called the phone number on the back of my BOA card.  I was informed that this is NOT a valid number for them and there are no service calls noted on my account.  If this happens to you, you can report it to abuse@bankofamerica.com

Returned home to a voice mail telling me to call Bank of America at 888-615-7168 to respond to a "servicing request".  I did not get an email regarding this request, which is one of the ways BoA communicates with me.  I called the customer service number on the back of my debit card and was told that there were no questions/requests regarding any of my accounts.

Just got a robocall voicemail on my cellphone from this number... said they were Visa Card Services I needed to call back "Bank of America" for a "servicing request"

When someone picked up they kept repeating the same BS lines about needing to do a "periodic credit update" and that she needed to update my financial information seeing as how the economy has been bad lately, etc... when I asked her what the point of this "periodic credit update" was she just kept going in circles about how it was just time to do a "periodic credit update.." - this made no sense whatsoever so I just ended the call.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

Message left by company claiming they were Bank of America - I called back but got put on hold for an extended period of time.  Recirculating message said "your call is important to us, we are updating your information so a customer service rep will be able to assist you... etc.,  so I hung up.

Unable to get confirmation that this number was from Bank of America - believe it was a scam.

An agent called me this morning at 8am before I could be awake which the guy said was his best time to call people.  He said he was calling about my account at Bank of America and told me he needed for me to speak with him NOW.  I told him I was with a client, took a number from him, but he told me that he needed to speak to me NOW.  I insisted he leave his number to call later.  he gave me his number but then, he hung up abruptly like a telemarketer would.
I called back the number and was greeted with "thank you for calling the credit department"
Nothing was said about Bank of America on a recording like usual.
After waiting 2 seconds, a guy answered the phone with an abrupt "this is brad!"
I asked "what bank are you from?"  he said "Bank of America"
I asked "where are you located?"  he said "I don't need to tell you that"
I asked again (persistently) "tell me your location or I will call police."
He hung up on me immediately and abruptly.
No real bank would have these manners.
This is outward fraud.
HE CALLED FROM 888-615-7168
They are stealing name and phone numbers from the Bank of America's "Abuse" Department
then calling everyone from that list to harass them.

This appears to be a caller trying to get credit card information.  They claim to be with Bank of America.  A message was left mentioned a "servicing request".  When I called back the background sounded like a "Boiler Room" operation.
