you would not be changing your "electric supplier"...you would only be contracting for them to collect your payments...the utility companies still supply and maintain your electricity.   These companies should not be allowed to identify themselves are utilities, or power or energy providers...they provide nothing...they are just a glorified collection agency...

If you really worked for these people, then you should know that they do NOT supply the electricity...they only collect the payments...if you have a problem or need assistance, repair, etc...you still need to go to the utility company...these people do not do anything but collect money...read the fine print...

I receive these calls also, but no longer answer.  These companies have also sent sales people to my home trying to get me to sign up with them...they all left literature...I read every word.  Every one of these companies declared in their written information that the lower rates they offer you up front are only good for 6 months to 1 year...then they will be increased...then they give a list of all the companies and their rates so that you can compare...every companies rates were much higher after the trial than the original utility...whether it be UI or CL&P...   After the 6 months...you will be paying much higher rates than UI or CL&P...obviously I did not change...nor will I...but when you let these people know you are not interested...they should stop calling...   Also, as far as utilities and the DNC list...any company that you do business with has the right to call you whether you are on the DNC list or not...if they are calling about a problem with the utility, an emergency, offering additional services or calling about a balance due/credit and collections...they have the right to call you...but if they are calling about offers, like purchasing a service contract on your furnace or water heater or such...you can tell them you no longer wish to receive these types of calls and they are usually good about not calling anymore...and I mean UI and CL&P...not these other fly by night companies who do NOT provide your utilities...just collect the money for them...they are nothing but trouble...  Verdi, North American and the others are NOT utilities and if you are not signed up with them...they are cold calling looking to make a sale and should be subject to the DNC list just like any other telemarketer...if our numbers are on DNC then they should not be calling us...period!!!  Just sayin...

Unfortunately, I have been getting Robo-called by this "Company" a lot.  I am also on the DNC list.  One this we should all be aware of is that the DNC list is, effectively, worthless.  Voice-over-IP (VoIP) has changed the game.  Using simple software programs, and the Internet, unscrupulous companies can and do bypass the DNC list by hijacking a certain #, and when it calls you, it shows up on your Caller ID (and the DNC Monitors) as coming from a different number.  It is a combination of a software program, proxy servers usually located overseas and  constantly changing dynamic IP addresses.  VoIP is the worst thing to happen to consumers since Coke came out with New Coke.  From my experience and research, it is nearly impossible to trace these callers using traditional algorithms currently used by the FTC.  Wish that I had better news.

Very annoying person indeed.  Tried to make it sound like I had gotten a statement from my utility company about their rates going up and that they would suspend it for 6 months.  I then told her I had just read the article complaining about these companies that get you to change claiming lower rates and then raise them.  She said no, that was not their company.  I said I wasn't interesting and hung up.  She had the nerve to call me back TWICE! right after I hung up on her.

All these pracks (sp err intentional) are under investigation for tripling people's electric rates after they get them switched to a so called lower rate. Then if you want to go back to your regular supplier the charge you a fee to leave them. Fruck these Corksuckers may they all burn in h3LL.

This is a telemarketing call from Verde Energy.  They are currently the subject of a fraud investigation by the State of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection.  All of the reports to the Do Not Call List actually add up and work if you follow through!

You are incorrect!  This is a FOR-Profit company who has NO business calling those on the DNC list!  After complaints I made were verified, I was contacted by he Drpartment if Consumer Protection.  Keep reporting Verde Energy, folks!  The more of us that do, the stronger the lawsuit - it's underway!!

We got a call from this number today at 2:38 pm but were not home. The caller ID was UNAVAILABLE. A legitimate company would identify itself. No voice mail message was left, because all calls from area code 888 are blocked by our call blocker.

They just called - Caller ID showed "Name Unavailable".  I wouldn't have answered anyway.  They left no voice mail message, which is fine. A reputable company wouldn't block their name.  But even if they were reputable, I'm sick of all these calls.

These people call me every single morning, there's no one at the other end (I say "hello? hello?" to no avail.

I finally called back today and determined they are from CSFB a call center, calling on behalf of Verde Energy, a company that claims to lower your electric bill.  That is an effort to make a SALE, and is in violation of the Do Not Call registry rules.
