Just as a note, I do not have any payday loans from anyone, anywhere.  I do not owe anyone any money, my credit cards are paid in full at the end of each month, I own my vehicles outright and after a check of my credit reports (three of them) to see if someone had used my name or ssn (there was nothing on my credit report other than what I knew to be true) I called the number back.  It took over 30 minutes to get thru to anyone who would even answer a simple question.  They would not give me the name of the company I supposedly owe money to, but offered to take payment over the phone to "fix" it.  Now, I am taking them to court, not for money, but to stop them from doing this to other people.  I should note that the calls started the day my husbands obit was in the paper.  They told me at first that the "loan" was in his name, but I was listed as well.  Then they said it was in my name alone.  It is worth noting that my husband had been in the hospital for a long time, and for years had been unable to speak, stand, walk or talk, let alone go out and get any type of payday loan.  So, a**-wipe, you might want to rethink your message, it may fit some people, but not all of us.  While you are at it, why not take a hooked on phonics course so you might spell out words instead of showing us what ignorant looks like.

Received a call from Joseph Hill who gave me phone number 888-617-9696 as a return number. Turns out the number is from National Mediation Services. In his voice mail to me, Joseph Hill was rude and threatening. Joseph Hill did not give me any information about what he was calling about except the claim number and that he had been retained "by order to provide service" - and that he would be at my house or place of employment on August 13th.

I returned the call (primarily to complain about Joseph Hill). I spoke with Jessica Sanchez. Jessica said that Joseph is an independent party who was retained to serve me papers regarding court action. Jessica was very nice and helpful. We have been able to discuss my debt, and are working on getting a payment arrangement with the original creditor.

Don't let the rude idiot that originally calls you be a deterent. I was treated professionally and with respect when I called the actual company.  (Now I just need to find a way to pay what I owe!)

I gotta cll from these ppl yesterday I heard rap music in the background thought tht maybe I won concert tickets lol. Also when you hang up one this number by law they are not allowed to call you back for 24 hours that is the law and they are not allow to call you on your cell phone at all by law.  These companies do these things because they know you do not know the law.  If this is for a computer loan that you did not sign for and they only have a typed signature on the computer any one can type your signature they need a real signature to be able to take this to court. A lot of these are scams to get money out of you do not full for this scam.

Anyone getting a phone call from this number needs to know that their action are illegal.  If they say they have a case against you.  Ask them what is the case number or file number.  By law they have to give you this information.  If they can not give you this information their is no case against you in a court of law. By law they are not allowed to tell you their is unless there is a case pending in court.  This is against the Fair Collections Act of 1978. They also have to tell you who is bringing a case against you.  They can only give this information to you no one else like a relative or spouse unless they are calling a community property state where the spouse is responsible for the other spouses accounts.  This is not so in all states. This is considered third party information and  is against the law and you can come back on that company for breaking the law. They will owe you instead of you owning them. Also ask for a address and send a certified letter to this company telling them they can only get a hold of you by mail no longer by phone make sure the letter is signed for.  They will no longer be able to contact you by phone only by mail. If they call you again you can bring action against them for violating your rights.

I have been getting multiple calls saying that this is  a certified notice of intent that papers will be served today unless they here from me from the mediation company at 888-617-9696.  They never give their name or the name of the company they represent.  I have just had in December my 11th brain surgery and I may possibly be fixing to undergo another one.  NOT IN THE MOOD to mess with this bull crap.

The name of the company is National Mediation services http://www.nationalmediationservices.com.  As far as I can tell they cant be any sort of legit corporation based on their consistent violations of federal consumer protection acts.  below is an excerpt of some of the federal violations.

?deposit a post-dated check early;
?take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or

Like the person above - I got a call and received 2 voice mail messages from a mis kimberly Scott at this number 888 617 9696 and says that she will be making a service call to my place of employment or residence -I was also threated that I had signed an intent to appear in court - will call again on Wedrnesday morning to research further.

I have been called from a guy on the phone, stating that I was a refference on an account of my sister. The guy called me starting fom 3-8-2013,  3-12-2013, and today 3-14-2013. The call from 3-12-2013 really got me in a rage. First of all the guy never identified who he was, so I became very directive towrds him on my phone(Cell Phone) in responce to his forceful talk, to me regarding this matter, or situation I knew nothing about. I would of let the whole thing go, "but when he said he would have me in court," I became very frustrated. We went back in forth with forceful talk. The guy finally hung up. Keep in mind i am on vacation why this was taking place. On 3-14-2013 I recieved a message on my phone(Cell Phone) from a guy called Norm, from the number 888-617-9696. I called the number back, naturally I was already heated, I got the recording instructing me to press 1 for english, press 0 to speak to a representative. I followed the directions, got a representative, and asked to be transferred to Norm.
I was the n transferred after a brief hold. Norm then picked up the phone, at that point I began to identify who I was. I then stated the reason for my call, norm became rude over the phone when I asked to be transferred or, for him to give me the number to the place that called me. He refused to cooperate with me, and hung up on me. I called back, following the same directions, only this time I got another guy. I got into a conflict with him over the phone.  I do not mind people calling me to handle a financial matter, but just do not tell me that you will have me in court when I don't know who is calling me, and I don't know where you are calling from. I get phone calls from other debt collectors, the only difference is they do not act like this particular company. The way they handled this matter was totally unprofessional. Do not be rude to people that have nothing to do with the matter, point blank. The only reason I got to this web site, I performed a investigation my self, so something had to be donewrong to make me stop on my vacation and get on the computer and type this letter to you guys, when I am on the computer typing when I am not on vacation.

These crooks called me, and all of my in-laws today. They left voice mails on everyone's phones, stating that, I will be served and that I am due to show up in court for a legal matter, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. The guys name is HAL WINTERS. Of course when I called the number back, I got the voice mail. Everyone just beware of the scam artist out here. they will use any tactic necessary to get money from us. Thankfully we have been informed and are aware. Its just sad that there are some individuals out here that will fall prey to these desperate criminals.

These people are sickos and omg who are they.  We have Hal Winters the man who says I'm being served papers and arrested and he's going to find me and get me.  I know they are scammers and losers too.  They actually got a hold of one of  my kids cells phones and are harrassing her.  She was scared at first we called police department and reassured her they just people trying to get money out of people.  I also called an attorney to press charges and they said they can't take the case because they are hard to find.  Probably overseas.  I'd love to see that Hal Winters in person what a loud mouth.  He sounds ridiculous.  We let the police listen to the voicemails.  We could track the call to see where coming from,  They have called my relatives and now one of the kids.  No legitimate company operates like this.

It doesn't matter if the business is registered somewhere or even if they have a valid debt to recover. The fact of the matter is they are going about it illegally by threatening these people with arrest when they know dam well they can't do a friggin' thing without a court order in every state. And if they have a court order for your arrest, they cannot serve it! And they wouldn't notify you in advance

ONLY A COURT APPOINTED COURIER OR THE COUNTY SHERIFF WOULD BE SERVING ANY LEGAL DOCUMENTS. If anyone else delivers any type of document, then you should get their ID and report them to your local authorities

I got the same phone call this morning from a 'restricted' number.  No less than 3 times this morning from someone by the name of David Harrison. Stated exactly the same thing. When I called back, this dude had not only all of my information, including my SS# but he also had my credit card number!! They do NOT have a website, nor do they have an e mail address, nor do they have an office address. Red flag!  
The message he left was this. :

"This message is intended for <Name>. Claim number <Claim Number>.
This is David Harrison contacting you in regards to an order that was submitted to my office this morning.
I would like you to be advised that I have been retained to have you signed for this certified notice of intent to appear in court for impending litigation.  
This regarding claim is being placed against you.
At this point you have one opportunity, that is to contact Mediation Firm at (888) 617-9696 using your claim number <Claim Number>.
But to be perfectly clear, you've already been placed on my schedule for Friday, October 19, 2012.
Unless I hear differently from that Mediation Firm, I will be out to see you at your home or place of business at that time.

Well, good luck Mister Harrison. Not only did I call the bank to stop my credit card, I also called the local FBI to make a report. Reeeeeealy hope these people get arrested soon. What a scam!!

I received a call from this number for my daughter she has not lived he for 25 years.  So this is not her number and they where demanding for her number and where she lived so they could sue her.

This is what just happened to me. She said she had my SS # But used someone else's name with who they want to talk to. I'm not sure what to do about it

These people called my sister and my parents with the same message.  On my sisters voicemail, they stated that (My Name) and then proceeded to leave MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER on my sisters voicemail.  That right there is illeagal because they don't know who they are really calling.

We so called broke scumbags that keep you with a job - a job that will hired anyone including criminals to harasse consumers. Customer service if you are a debt collector needs serious improvement and you definitely needs etiquette. Your time will come and see how you accept your calls - you get better results with kindness than bitterness.

I was given this number from a suspious process server named Hal winters who works fir Dc solutions. He said he was hired from National meditation services..which is the number above. They asked for my husband, tried getting personal info from me....when I called that number & asked for Hal winters & they had no idea who that was ! They are both trying to collect money....not going to get one red cent ! The same thing happened to someone we know..they were served papers so they took it to the court housr & the court house had no idea who the heck this was. Its just a scam to get money from you.

FYI - they don't personally go to your house. They send a hired hand that serves papers. They're called Legal Process Servers. This person has no interest in the case, they are just hired to give you the papers.
