I did not get a call, but had a charge of $9.85 applied to my credit card 12/6/07.  I have never heard of this company, have not purchased or recieved anything from them.  I called the number and left at least 10 messages and never received a response.  I have disputed this with my credit card company.
But I would like to know who this company is and how they have obtained peoples information.  When I searced the number on the internet, there were a lot of other people who had been charged by this company.

A charge 9.85 appear on my account, I did not purchase of have any business transaction with this company HOMEPORT.  I called the number and got answering machine (of course).  It's one of those fly by night businesses, here today and gone tomorrow after ripping off consumers.  Another one of those type of people wanting something for nothing.  Yes and we are probably supporting with our hard earn tax dollars too.  I too have disputed this charge.

I just found a charge for $9.75 from Home Port CAUS from 888-636-4452.
I also called and got a generic voicemail message.
I have never ordered anything from any co. either with this kind of info...
I sent a letter of dispute for the charge to my bank and also canceled my debit card. They told me this charge was done to my account via my debit card. So, all action to any accounts has been blocked.
Has anyone else ordered from any smaller co.'s where our info may have been stolen by an employee, etc.?

Our account was charged $9.85 December 3, 2007 from a transaction dated December 1, 2007.  I found out about it December 21, 2007 but thought it was something I couldn't find a receipt for.  Christmas, other things and a trip to Kentucky kept me from getting back to my statement until now.  BB&T couldn't give me any additional information.  The first time I tried the telephone number there was an answering machine/voice mail.  No one had returned my call so...  That time it was "temporarily disconneted."  I found all this out too late to dispute but look what I found when I started checking online.  Just now I got a recording that said, "Ring Central - The number you dialed is not in service at this time.  Thank you for calling."

Charge for $9.85 appeared on my account.  Tried to call and got two rings and that's all.  Bank says it's fraudulent and will close my card.

In terms of reporting it needs to be reported to the Federal Trade Commision at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) and if you ignore all the prompts and press 450 each time then you get routed directly to a person and you can file a complaint.  It can also be done online at FTC.gov.  I recommend calling, it's a bit easier and you get a case reference number.  I've already reported it but FTC can only take down info pertinent to YOUR experience (IE they don't accept that I offered that this is happening to many people or my offer to tell them all the alias names of the company) so the more reports the better (I assume).  Good Luck!

I had the same issue with my Bank of America card.  I believe that the problem is fairly common bacause my bank credited the 9.80 back to my account without me having to dispute it.

Checked my credit card bill online and found a charge for $9.85 from a company called Home Port. Called the number (888-636-4452) and could only reach voicemail. Will call my CC company immediately and dispute the charge.

I had a $9.80 charge on my credit card for Home Port 888-636-4452 on Jan. 27. Called the credit card company, disputed the charge and closed my account.

I just saw the same charge that many of the people have described. I immediately called my credit card company disputed the charge and closed my account.

I JUST found a charge of $9.75 from 1/30/08 on my account from this same 888-636-4452 saying HOME PORT from CAUS... so apparently these are being made from a home port in California. I called the phone # and got a generic voicemail message saying that noone was available, but to leave a message. I didn't, but I did cancel my debit card and all actions to my account and sent a letter of dispute for the charge to my bank.
I imagine with such small charges that this most likely won't come back to bite them in the a_s.
Thank goodness I have a direct connection to CA and they are looking into this fraudelent activity. There has to be a way to see where these charges are directly coming from.
Did anyone else order from a certain "smaller" co. online lately? Where an employee or someone could have stolen all of our numbers and information?

I didn't get no calls. I was online this morning checking my statement and there were two charges for $9.85. I called my bank cancelled my debit card and have to go in after work and fill out a fraud report.

Need to catch these scum before they rip off the elderly that doesn't know to watch out for predators like them.

Debit card was charged $9.80 1/21/2008 to Home Port with phone number 8886364452 called just a voice mail.My bank did not know a thing about it so I had to copy all of these comments for proof.

Checking statement and discovered charge of $9.75 Home Port. Several calls to bank,had to complete fraud statement and cancel my card.  The person at the bank said that the number was obtained via computer.  I do not use debit card on computer orders.

We were vacationing when this apparent charge showed up ($9.85 to HOME PORT) on December 25th.  BE CAUTIOUS - we have since been charged other unauthorized transactions maxing out our Visa.  Called the number to dispute and got a recording to leave a message.  Card has been cancelled and we are disputing the charge.  Recommend doing the same to catch the bum(s).

I've called to close my account and dispute the charge. My bank already seemed to know about this! So it must be common!

Just found the charge for $9.85 on my credit card bill this morning. The charge listed the company as Home Port and the phone number 1-888-636-4452.  I called the credit card company and had them cancel and reissue a new card. Also faxed in the paper work to have the charge removed and investigated for fraud. I'm still not sure how they obtained the credit card number from an unlisted phone number. I never called this phone number.

I received "Home Port 8886364452 CA 267645" on my debit card statement.  Tried calling tells me that I have reached an automated voice system and to leave a message.  Going to dispute the charge of $9.85.

I got the same charge on my debit statement, my bank frauded my debit card and issued a new one but they tell me I have to dispute the charge which can take some time and a trip to the bank to fill out paperwork.  I wish the people would do something useful with their time instead of scamming hardworking people out of their money. What is this world coming to?

I got charged 9.75 from HOME PORT on Jan 1st.  First time I called it just rang twice and then gave a bunch of weird rings.  When I tried the number again today I got a message system.  I called the bank as soon as I saw the charge and got my debit card cancelled.  I told my friends to be on the lookout for these charges on any of their cards especially if they use their cards online.

Just Cancelled My card, and reported these guys to the bank. Double check your past statments as well. This acount was listed as a revolving monthly charge according to the bank. What a Shame are world has come to this. True losers these people are.

I got the exact same charge on my January credit card bill.  I called the number and it asked me to leave a message.  I hung up since I have no idea what it's about.  I'm going to dispute the charge, too, and let the bank find out if this is a scam.
