Called at 13:24 today. Answered, heard the recording about collections and hung up knowing I could call back - there might be something out there I should pay. Tried to return the call, 888 number is invalid so I guess they don't want their money that bad.

Received a call from 888-637-0271 leaving a partial message like many of the people who have posted.  If they really are a collections agency, they will really get their panties in a bunch in a few weeks......there's nothing they can do when attorneys and the Feds get involved.......

I got the exact same partial message on my cell phone today at 4:00 pm.  Used up my minutes retrieving the call, which pisses me off.  Yeah, they are fraudulent alright.  Man, am I tired of these bozos calling me with threatening messages (debt collection, legal action, FBI, etc).  But HOW DO WE STOP THEM??  Any ideas folks?

Get their address and send them a cease and desist/no contact letter telling them that they can only contact you by regular mail.  State laws usually cover this method.  They can be fined if they continue and you keep a log.   Legitimate companies will comply.

So some people say this is a scam-some saying it's a debt collection agency---just wondering how is it a scam if you never actually talk to anyone, (I'm reading if you pick up it's still the recorded message, and if you call back..you get no one...) Maybe the scam is if you ever do talk to them they try to get info about you, but nothing I've read says anyone has spoken to anyone....I'm getting daily messages...ridiculous we can't make this stop

NCO Debt Collectors - You can't return their call because the line is constantly busy. Progressive sends delinquent accounts to NCO.

Two times they called.  I have no idea why they are calling me.  They are NCO Debt Collectors.  As far as I know, I don't owe them any money and I am tired of the calls.  I want to block them but apparently these kind of harrassing calls are legal.  No other way to reach them to tell them to back off.

They called and left a partial voice mail saying something like "debt collection and any information gathered will be used to collect that debt". I tried to call the number back that was on my caller ID but it was not a valid number and dumped my call.  I don't think it's really a debt collection agency as I have no debt that is in collections.  Scam?  I don't know!

Debt Collectors who keep calling me and they say they are calling me by mistake.  Very annoying.

I recevied a call on my cell phone they are a debt collection company and called back and the call was dropped, all my bills are paid up to date, so I know this number is a scam.  I think from this number it happens every month or every other month.

I continue to receive phone calls from 8886370271, on a weekly basis.  They leave a message indicating they are a debt collection company and no return phone number.  

I have no outstanding or unpaid debts.  On one occasion, I picked up the phone and I still received the recording.  I need this caller to remove my phone number from their system.  Do we have any options?

I've now been getting these calls regularly too. They don't leave a voicemail and I'm fairly sure there are no outstanding debts that I owe.

I got the same call and tried to call the number back and it is not a working number.  SCAM.  I don't owe them any money.

Got this recorded call from 1-888-637-0271, debt collections, I'm to contact Lynn Edwards when I call back. I have no debts up for collection so take a hike.

Yeah, I just got the call too.  It's obviously a scam, but it's interesting that there's no real way they can get your information anyways.

I just received a call from this number at my work. Who is this? I don't think I have any unpaid bill.

They are a debt collection agency and I think they use a variety of numbers, some spoofed and some not.

I also tried to call back that number on my caller id and the same thing happened, it was an invalid number.  Since I owe no debt and am a senior citizen I called that NCO stop call number and they said they would remove my number.  They actually seemed nice about it.  How does this stuff happen?  I think creeps try to scam you for everything, luckily I still have some grey matter left............

All of what you say is true. This is NCO Financial, a very stupid and worthless collection agency. NEVER answer their calls and never call them back. Unless you owe money recently, you are being scammed by this company who tries to collect debts so old they are  legally not collecttable. The magic words are the statue of limitations. Dont talk to them or they will scam you!!! Just ignore all their calls. Thye will give up eventually.

Ya, I just had the same experience as above. How do I check my credit report? Or should I say... What is the best way to check a credit report? I think these people are a scam.

They left me the same recorded message as others have previously mentioned.  I really don't think I owe any money at this time.  I finally got fed up with hearing that stinkin' message so, I called back the number and it seemed to be a non-existent number?!  Strange, I tell ya!

I didn't answer a call from this number and am disconcerted to find others are being hassled by this number too.  I'm on T-mobile at a 574 area code, though I no longer live there.  

The caller hasn't left a message, so I don't know what it would have been about, but this sounds fishy and annoying.  I don't have any debt collection issues either, but know from my old roommate's experiences that collection folks are not shy about leaving messages when nobody answers.  I hope this is not an indication of a bigger problem soon to come.  I shan't answer there calls and hopefully they will go away.

My husband & I keep getting calls on our cell phone from this phone number.  We are not in collections and when I call from a land line I'm sent into "limbo land".  How do we get this to stop!!!???  We never give out our cell numbers to companies - where do they access the numbers from.

I have had 5 Calls from 888-637-0271 since March 28 2010. They never leave a message but the phone just keeps ringing for over two minutes..........
