Received a call last week and they have the wrong address/state for me.  They said they were going to send an officer to my work to serve me.  I told them I was willing to pay the debt but didn't have any information.  I spoke with Ryan Jones and he finally emailed me some paperwork but I was skeptical so I googled them and everything comes up that it is a scam.  And, they wanted payments sent overnight.  I have contacted an attorney and am waiting to hear from them and they just contacted me again.  Said they are going to go ahead and proceed with this and will be sending someone to my work.  Who knows.  I guess I will wait and see and handle it from that point.  I tried giving them my home address to send something there but they didn't want to listen.

They filed a judgement against me over a relatives debt that I was not obligated for. The relative had the same name.  They still call and harass me. I had to hire an attorney at my expense to get it removed. Can I sue them?

This company is operating in an illegal manner.  They are violating the Federal Fair Practices Act.  Call your state's attorney general and make a complaint.  Watch out!  They may be skammers.  Do not give them any personal or financial information.

Got a call from this number as well harassing me about taking me to court. I knew I owed money for the credit card they were speaking of, but didn't know anything about all of this until my fiancee looked them up, and informed me about all of these posts, and what was going on. Looked them up on the BBB, and they're not accredited either. I should've ignored the call, but regardless, I'm tracking down my info, and to see if I was scammed. So far I'm considering which attorney would be best suited for this situation. Slightly ticked about it all too. They said they were from Asset Management Systems, or Asset Management something when they called me, but on here I'm seeing AGF. Which is it? The guy said his name was Ron, or Ryan Jones, and that they're based out of Lake Elsinore, California just like the AGF addresses are.

Yes you should. I just finished dealing with them, and found they are not even a legal debt collector. I spoke to a parallegal at an attorney's office and they told me to report them to the Attorney General's office for my state. They are a fraudulant company and the address is a PO box UPS store. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY

"These people called me for a family member but had my address. When I asked how they got my number they gave me another number to call. I called and told them not to contact me again since I had nothing to do with the debt they were trying to send a "summons" for. "

They usually first call a relative.  Their goal is to intimidate and panic the victim, through embarassment and implied threats of a "lawsuit" that doesn't exist, calls from this fake "process server", sometimes even illegal threats of "arrest", or impersonating law enforcement.

They are trying to extort payment for a fake, unowed "debt", through threats and intimidation, without ever providing any proof there even is a debt.  Be aware they may be pulling credit reports, so this fake "debt" might sound like an old account.

It is all a con.

Real process servers don't call and leave a message to call a "debt collector".

They serve the summons they were paid to serve.

This is an extortion racket, using calls from fake "process servers" to make threats and imply a "lawsuit has been filed".

They use threats to get your money because they can't sue.  They either don't own the debt, or there isn't one at all.

Check your credit reports, especially Experian.  You will probably find a recent inquiry, often only days before the threatening calls started.  They get old account information, and use it to fabricate the appearance of this "debt".

Actually, this batch is not on the level.  If they were, and had a legitimate debt, they'd have your address, and sure wouldn't be treatening to send cops to your house to arrest you.   Someone trying to serve you won't call you first.

The calls to your ex, and your parents, indicates they are targetting you.

They usually call skip-traced relatives first, using the fake "process server" calls to others to intimidate, embarass, and threaten you, so that you are panicked and willing to pay them a "settlement" without even any proof.

Your brother was defrauded and extorted.

Now they are trying to do the same to you.  You must have looked like a good mark when they pawed through his credit reports and skip-traced to your other relatives.  If they suckered him once, might as well try the rest of you.

Pulling credit reports to use in a fraudulent scheme is a felony under state and federal law.  See Title 18 USC.

Contact FTC.  There are reports they are investigating the Corona Scam.

Your "debts" are fake.

You are just a shill, telling "morality play" stories, trying to keep the scam going..

You gain a safer neighborhood, where your family isn't being threatened and harassed, your kids and grandmother aren't being conned, and the criminals are the ones losing sleep and looking over their shoulders, ready to dash for the border if too many cop cars come down the street.

Shill.

There are process servers that have the legal means to attempt to serve you most typically at home.  They usually leave a summons of attempt to deliver taped to your door.  They are legit, dont ignore those.  I was being sued by a major credit card company, luckily I qualified for a bankruptcy.

true, OR to you can do like my brother did, we called the original creditor, found out who owned the debt and pay it off, whether it be this company or another, and if there is no intention of paying whats the point of wasting so much time posting complaints? really what do you gain? do you feel satisfied you avoided a debt like its an award? yea no wonder our economy is in the situation it is. dirty people that never pay bills, let someone borrow hundreds and let it off the hook because they avoid you, yea right. scum
