Just received a message from this number saying they were from Vons and needed my address. I've never applied for a Vons card. Thought it was sketchy and Googled the phone number, which find me here now.

They will also contact you if you applied for a Reward's card at a Safeway, Randall's, Tom Thumb, etc. Usually they are simply looking for missing information.

Insistent for address. She said our no. Was the one on the app. Then I said" yu should
have the address" how else would he get a card!"  I also said he is an adult not our
Legal business(several times) and further he does not use nor possess
a safeway card.(he doesn't). Son has no debt either. We or our kids have never written
a check to safeway (always used a debit card )  to relate a check not the reason

Two missed calls at around 8 pm. No message. When I called back I got a the voicemail said it was from Beta Company.

just got a call from this number on my cell phone the problem is i didnt give them my cell numberi gave my house number pretty sure its a scam artist they said they were located out of arazona and cali all over a safeway card  no way scamers are getting better and better i work for DOD homeland Sec. and there looking into it for me ill try to post another text here if new info opens up have a good day everyone

Got a call at 10:25PM and they left a vm stating they were calling on behalf of safeway and that I had applied for a safeway credit card and didn't put my address on the application.  I did get a safeway saving card but that was 3 months ago and I clearly remember putting an address on the form.

I have a voicemail from a call center saying they are vons and they want to verify my address. I can't imagine why they would have my home phone number but not my address. I'm glad I didn't answer as I may have been caught off guard and given it to them.

Also got a call from a person saying were from Safeway, and that they did not have my safeway card number.... very strange. I said I did not have it with me and would go to store later to update it and they said ok ...

ya got a voicemail form them saying this message is for, then they hung up... seems odd.

Obvious Identity Theft Scam. Claimed to be calling from Safeway. "You filled out an appplication for a Safeway Card, but didn't include your address, so we just need you address to update our records".

Is this a possible connection between all of you???? Do you know anyone who has anything to do with a visa?

Got a call from this 888 number then a hang-up.

They said they were from Safeway and wanted my address for my account or something...seemed fishy.

Got the call at 4:47 pm with an immediate hang up. My phone didn't even have time to ring.

Someone called from 888-640-4446 saying they were from Safeway and that they needed my address. I told them that I didnt give that out and they very quickly said okay and hung up. I then called the number back and a woman answered saying"customer service" and I said with what company and she said Secure One?

A person called and said they were from Safeway and needed to update my address. I called back and they just answered the phone as customer service and I said I didn't apply for the card and they hung up.

Lately my cell phone has been receiving calls from all sorts of different numbers all claiming to verify information.  In an attempt to save my information I have told them they have the wrong number.  I got a call from 888 640 4446 and I also received a call from a 402 982 0778 number claiming to be visa and wanting me to verify information with them.  I belive both are  a scam and wouldnt be surprised if they were the same people trying to achieve information.  i know the 402 number has a second number that is an 888 number they call from trying to gather information.

Got a Call from a jeff didn't real get who he was with. Asked if i was still available for job interview advised yes. He then asked for my name and address which i provided him with. Then he wanted my social security number said it was a requirment in order scheduled job interview. Hung up on him

Someone called from 888-640-4446 saying she was calling regarding my Von's grocery check card.  She requested my address so she could send coupons, and promotional items.  Upon my further inquiry, she stated it was optional, and I didn't have to provide info.  I called the number back, and recording indicated "The Data Center", and to leave a number & requested info.

Same exact situation for me as well, right down to 'Melissa' calling.
For others: Just don't respond or give information to these people. Even if you did apply for a club card and did not fill in an address you will still receive the discounts, etc.

The customer service agent for Vons or whatever third party company they hired left a message and asked for someone who was not at my cell phone number.  I called the different call back number that they left (888-955-8373). They wanted my address because of an application for a Vons card that this person had allegedly filled out. I told them to remove my cell phone number but they wouldn?t. They kept asking me for my name. I told them I never filled out an application so they wouldn?t have me on file. Apparently they can?t search by phone number and the customer service rep hung up.

File a complaint with the National Do Not Call List if you have never done business with them and they have no reason for calling you.

Considering that I have never used a check in my life, you are incorrect.

I just had "Safeway" call saying they needed to update my address and if I wanted to give them a new one or leave it. I said no and hung up. First off, who calls about updating addresses after 8 p.m.? Second, I have NEVER written a check with Safeway. So sorry if I seem a little skeptical with your response!

I got a call today for this same number. The woman said it was Safeway calling and I had recently applied for a Safeway Discount Card but failed to provide my address. For one, I've had a Safeway discount card for 3 years and for two, they have my address because I updated it last year in order to receive their promotions.

I certainly will not be providing any information to this company....

I got a missed call from the 800 service, answered to late, called back the # and they asked if I received a message, and told them NO that I saw the missed call and called it back, the women on the other end stated she couldn't talk to me unless I received a message, I asked if it was for a survey or was it a collection company, still stated that she couldn't discuss this with me unless I tell her what the message said, well Hello Lady, didn't I tell you that I didn't get a message I was just calling back she started to ramble so I just hung up on her.

that is bull, because i got the call, and i dont write checks. sounds like some kind of scam to me.

I have not shopped at safeway in months and they called. Have not written a check there in about 7 years!... They wanted to update address

got a voice mail from this number, said her name was melissa and calling on behalf of Safeway and if they could have my address so that they could finish my application.  asked me to call back a different number (888) 955-8373.  I don't want safeway to have my address so i guess i won't call... i'm getting the gas discounts at the pump anyways and the in store discounts as well

Who ever wrote this is right on the money.
