SCAM ALERT!!
National Giveaway Center - purporting to be in Indianapolis, IN.
Supposedly I had entered a drawing for a "Gold Key" Giveaway for a $25,000 home makeover, and other fabulous prizes "about a year ago". Although they left an extension number for Jessica at ext 721, I was told by a Crystal that Jessica was busy.
When I wouldn't give my name & zip code "to verify I was who I said I was" (how would she know - I hadn't given her any information yet & she never referred to me by name...???) until she told me the name of the company she worked for & their location, then she became rather snotty and said if I didn't remember signing up for it, then I shouldn't be asking her for any information!  

Search on the internet for this company name and/or any Gold Key giveaway promotion turn up ONLY this website. BBB has no listing for any such company in Indianapolis, IN, or anywhere else that I can find.

"June" left a robomessage that is completely bogus.  How could we ever have our name drawn to "win" when we NEVER enter anything, for the simple reason that we don't like giving out our personal information for marketing purposes!  Robomessages are illegal, we are on the DNC list, not that it matters.

888-648-2805, extension 481 was the callback number "June" left on her robomessage.  However, the caller ID showed 800-300-5761 as the incoming phone number.  This is probably a spoofed number for caller ID; we have had calls from other numbers also, with the same scam about a drawing and 'win'.  I am posting this on both phone numbers so people can cross-reference.  Hopefully others will do the same and we can build a reference of all the spoof numbers for this scam.  I hear the Department of Justice does very occasionally step in once a portfolio of numbers can be cross-referenced.  One can always hope.  How many people do these scammers annoy and deceive every day?

Yup! Got call from June from the verification center. A $5000 home makeover. My name was drawn. Only problem is I NEVER enter any of these things whatsoever lol!!! They just never quit!!

Wow, I won the Ford Explorer Hybrid too.....how many do you think they have?  LOL glad I checked out this number.  My caller was Lori.  How lucky for me we shared the same name....ya right

Just wanted to let you all know that I called this number back...just curious what they would say.  The phone was answered "National Prize Give-away Center."  I asked the person answering the line if they would explain what they were "giving away" and he said that he would need to have some information from me in order to look me up, as they were giving away many prizes daily.    
When I informed him that I was on the DNC registry, he said that it does not apply to them, as they are "giving prizes away".  Total Scam.

Anytime someone calls and says they "pulled" our name, I know it's a scam because they never "Say" your name. If they really did pull it, they would call you by name.

Sounds like I'm the lucky winner of a 2013 Ford Escape if I call Laurie back at ext 525 even if they don't know my name.  Yeah, right.

Peppy Morgan (female) just let me know I too had my name pulled from (yada, yada, yada...).

Glad this site's available as I DO enter those kind of contests and had to wonder... even though the phone call did sound rather suspicious, not saying who the call was for and all.

I received the same phone message as well from June at the same number and extension. My gut also told me SCAM. I thought I would look up the number and landed here.

We got the same generic "Good news: you have won a $50,000 free home makeover ...." Caller's name was June, and she gave us the phone number 888-848-2805, ext 481. My wife wanted to call, just out of curiosity. I told her not to waste her time (and risk the chance of giving some scammer any personal info). After Googling the phone number and seeing a lot of reports from others who received the same call, my suspicions were confirmed.

i got call from this number claim I'm the winner of 50.000 home makeover. the message was from june and when I called back I spoke with Kacey.
She told me I'm the winner and if I had any questions I can call them back. I try to call them back and no one unswer the phone. My son told me that is a scam. I want to find this thieves and liers for contacting.

I get a call every day from "Morgan" who talks so fast you can't understand her on the message, at least she leaves a message. I won a 50K kitchen make over that I entered. Really? I don't enter things like that so how could I have possibly have won?

I got the same call from June about the $50000 home make over.ext 481.  Im so glad I looked on here to see who it was.  does anyone know where the calls originate from?  I called back on a spare cell phone, it rang about  7 times and then some woman answered in a gruff voice.  I hung up.

Got the same message on my answering machine today from June telling me I won a $50,000 home make over.  Guess I won't be calling back. Thank heavens for being able to Google suspicious phone numbers!!

Hi- Just received a call from "the verification center" or direct buy as they say that is who is sponsoring this sweepstakes.  Lee is right on with the conversation they start out with. I did call them back, just to see what they are about.  No they don't let you talk with the "June" that called you at ext 481.  They do ask your name and state you live in.  They they ask if your married, and if you make over $60,000 a year.  If you make it through those questions, they state your a finalist in the $50,000 home-make over sweepstakes.  However you have won either a cruise (with carnival or norweign cruise line) or 2 free air-line tickets.  They give you a code number.  You just need to come and set up an appointment for an awards ceremony where they will present this to you and (your spouse must be present) and try to sell you something....that's where I ended the conversation.

So i just got the call from June saying i won a 50,000 dollar home make over.. but i do not remember ever signing up for this.. Has anyone tried calling them back to see what they really want? And how do they know my name?

I just received the same $ 50,000 offer.  Does any one know what they are really after?  Maybe a down payment with your credit card.

Just got a call from June too..ha ha, this is the second time this has happened to me...i nearly picked up the phone and gave her a piece of my mind...very calmly, but still telling her how I think what she is doing is cruel and that she should stop and reconsider getting herself a job where she can honestly help people because she needs to see how it feels to be lied to this way and then let down when you're taken for a ride...they say you won via a kitchen make over...I mean really lady, this is going to really get someone very enthusiastic and then take them up just to fall down hard....shame on these telemarketers who do this sort of thing, especially to the elderly.  Maybe she thought I was an old lady, well I'm not young, but not that naive either.  I've scolded others for this sort of thing before toward people hounding me and one lady quit her job shortly after...I guess her guilty conscience got the better of her.

I got the very same call even though our # is on the do not call list.  How do they get away with this? What's the point of signing up for thr do not call list if they can get past it anyway?

Same call we received from a women called "believe it or not June", same 888# but 481 extension.  Same MO; you have won....   Clearly a scam considering we all won!  I don't know how they got my number, it is unlisted.  Probably robo calls.  My advice don't even call back!
