AltCharge debited my account in the amount of $84.80 on 9/4/12, on behalf of a merchant that neither delivered the product nor responded to phone or email contact attempts by myself or AltCharge.

Approximately three weeks ago, AltCharge advised me by phone that they would process a refund to me, and to call back in a week to check on the status. Since that time, I have called more than 40 times, but have been unable to get through to a CSR.

After varying times on hold, I eventually get to "First in Line," and then hear a recording that the person at that the "person at extension 1101 is unavailable." Personally, I think they're just blackholing my phone number when I call, and that they have no intention of processing the refund.

AltCharge is the processor of last resort for scumbag merchants that no reputable processor will deal with. If the merchant doesn't deliver, AltCharge will do NOTHING to help you get your money back.

Do yourself a favor: If a merchant wants you to pay them through AltCharge, RUN as fast as you can.

Interesting enough, like with a lot of people, things are not always what they seem. It seems like this customer is NOT exactly telling it like it is. This person DID get a vacation. And she was directed to the booking company. And she DID experience problems. Why?  She paid a booking fee and, guess what, the check bounced! She paid her taxes and, guess what, her check bounced. So, I guess you might say things are not always what they seem.

Oh yes, before the checks bounced, she was sent her booking documents. And, thereafter, she demanded the booking company refund her money. They sent her a check. THEN the checks bounced!

And she wants all her money back! OK. Right. It was OUR fault that her checks bounced!

Hope the police do contact us even though we are NOT located in Houston, Texas! Our booking company, who is an independent company and took NOT ONE PENNY FROM THIS CUSTOMER OTHER THAN HER BOUNCED CHECKS, would like very MUCH to contact her!

I too was scam by this fake azz company!!  They electronically withdrew $2700 from my bank account for a trip for 16 people to Vegas.  Then they advised us that we had to mail an additional $35 per person for airfare activation fee and another $35 per person for hotel activation fee.  When our trip was not booked 3 weeks before we were supposed to leave, we too started calling and getting the run arounds and the no response.  After speaking to Robert Thornton, Wayne Williams, Mr. Gonzalez Betty Stevens, Carol Mitchell, who are all fake names, I reported them to the BBB and filed a report with the Texas Police Dept.  A detective did go there to follow up on my complaint and advised me that the building is only about 900 sq. feet, so when they transfer you, you are actually being transferred to a person sitting next to the person who you originally spoke with.  There is no reservations dept, legal dept or any other dept.  What I did  find out is Robert Thornton, Mr. Gonzalez and Wayne Williams is the same person. His real name is Jesse Casares and his telephone number is 713-429-9429.  You should forward your complaints to Officer Melba Hogan with the Houston Police Dept.  These scam artists need to be stopped immediately!!!

When I asked if they were a travel agency, the first woman I spoke to said yes, the second one said no, then I asked how does this work , how can you afford to give these great deals.  She could not explain and hung up on me.  Great deals, but to risky for me.

I asked for more information 'cause the trip to Jamaica got my attention and then she said I will have to give her my CC first. what!!???  I said give me the info first pls, and HUNG UP on me!!  I called back and HANG UP on me again...  Beware, they seen to be scammers from abroad!!!....

There is no "wholesale" travel agent. The price for a cruise is set by the cruise line and is the same to EVERY travel agency. BUT if an agency buys lets say 100 cabins on a ship they they will get a good discount price, then the agency can sell them at a discounted price lower than their competition but this is rare.

The advertised price is the "companion fare" for the 2nd traveler. The price for the 1st paying traveler is not known and will be much much greater. Add the 2 together and you will have the "normal" price.

Got the fax and called. When I asked what company this was I was handed off three times. Some guy said it was AMerican Travel but when I asked about a web site he just said they cater to corporate clients. Sounds bogus.....5 days/4 nights in England, Italy or France for $199.98 including air fare? I do not think so......

WHAT A JOKE!!!  I called and rep answered saying "reservation department" i asked what company i was calling and then he proceeded to ignore my question and asked if i was looking to travel. i said "maybe, but what company am i calling?" agent said "well why maybe?" i said can you please tell me what company i am calling? then maybe we can talk about a vacation" he said well where would you like to go...if you have the flyer there in front of you just pick one of the places" I said "well you pick the place, what company am i calling and what are the restrictions?" agent got VERY rude, i wanted to slap him, and said "NOOO you need to pick i cant pick for you, so why dont you call back when you know where you want to go" I said "excuse me, no need to be rude, i simply asked you several times what company i am calling and you are ignoring my question. He then said i called (American) or America Travel. He was rude and talking over me, it was HORRIBLE!!! FREAKIN JOKE!

They just sent me a fax for deals on vacations/airfares, etc. I called the number and they answered the phone "reservations?" I said uuuhhh what company is this? they said "what company are you looking for?" i told them they just faxed me and i was calling to get their website address and to check them out to make sure it's not a scam. i then asked him why he answers the phone "reservations" instead of with his company name. he then said "uhhhh, because we do". i then asked him "don't you think that's a little strange to not mention your company name when you answer the phone?" he then said " i'm sorry mam, we are all sold out." LOL. He never did tell me his company name or his name or anything about this company. it IS A SCAM!

smarten up - this same rat fax travel scammer has been doing this for years.

My dtr received a fax with this number.  The girl she spoke to said it was American Travel.  It sounded like a great deal.  She gave them her acct # and ck #  and R&T # .  She then received an email from verification@altcharge.com they thanked her for her recent transaction of $400.00  from merchant VIP Wholesale 877 818-1575.  Another place in the email it stated the merchant as VIP Vacations 877 818 1575 and 877 956-6901  Altcharge states that it is a payment processing company and they wanted a electronic signature to ensure that she made the purchase.  My dtr then questioned the different merchant names and different phone numbers on the verification and declined the transaction based on suspicion.    After further investigation on the different numbers and names it appears to be a scam..beware.

Wish they were open? Better hurry before the authorities shut them down. Good luck with your "car rental"m shill LOL!
