Some idiot voice message called our phone this morning @ 7:03 AM and a recorded voice said; that our card "will be deactivated because of unusual activity." We don't have an account with these people - isn't this like; phone spam?

I got the same call around 7:30 am this morning. Yesterday I got another similar type of call re: another bank card.

I called F and M Bank to report the number and they said that several people had called them about this, and that it is a fishing scam. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

I'm from Long Beach, CA. Called yesterday morning (11/23/09) before I went to work and left a message that my Merchants and Farmers Credit Card had been deactivated and that I needed to call them to reactivate. Came home after work and there were two similar messages on the answering machine. One stated to call 888-663-9281 and the other stated to call 760-494-8703. I called the "888" number and received a message that Ring Central was not yet in service? I don't have a Merchants and Farmers Credit Card.
