Just randomly got this phone call tonight from 1-888-667-3000. I didn't recgonize the number so I didn't pick up.  Automated message left message:

"Please have your account number ready. A convenience fee may apply. You can also visit our website to find authorized payment locations in your area or to make payment arrangements is eligible. Dominion understands that in the current economic climate, you may have difficulty paying your bills. If you need help paying your electric bill your local Department of Social Services may have Energy Assistance available, call 211 for more information. We appreciate your business and thank you for your attention to this matter.

These messages just started coming on my cell phone tonight and I don't even have Dominion.  I'm guessing it's just a wrong number like the 10 other debt collectors that keep calling my cell phone asking for other people I don't even know. Blocked it.

It is Dominion power asking me to pay my bill.  Again.  Even though I don't have an account.  It's either a scam or they made the honest mistake of having the my number listed to an account.

"If payment has been made, disregard this call... blah blah, or we could cut your power... to pay by phone, call Bill Matrix or pay online at www.dom.com."

They called and told me my service was being discontinued for nonpayment and I should call Bill Matrix at 800-573-1147.  Tried calling "Bill" to tell him this is not possible as our payments are all done electronically but reached another automated voice mail.  At that point I googled the number that called us and found out it is all a scam!

They've called my cellphone a few times over the past few months.  Usually they identify themselves as Dominion and ask me to pay my bill "if I haven't already done so."  I don't have an electricity bill...  I don't have an account with them.  Within the past 5 minutes they've called me twice though and I didn't get the message at all, it was silent on that end.  It's just annoying.

DOMINION POWER PROVIDING RESTORATION UPDATE. NOTHING ON OTHER END OF CALL BUT WHEN CALLED BACK GOES TO CUMSTOMER SERVICE DEPT OF VAPOWER AND SHOWS NO UPDATE CALL BEING MADE TO BEGIN WITH.

This is a scam it should be reported to the authorities for harrassments!!!! This is USA and not Nagiria! Stop the harassments!!!

My wife now says when she called it asked whether they should call after 11:00 PM, so I guess I can blame her for user error. I had no problem falling right back asleep after the phone rang, but she says she tossed and turned for two hours (compounded by another thunderstorm).

I guess I can't blame Dominion for this one.

My wife had called Dominion for info on a lengthy power outage and she hit the option for them to call when power was restored. Power came back at 9:16 PM. Dominion called at 1:03 AM!!!! WTF!!!! I guess it's my wife's fault for asking them to call, but you'd think they could program the autodialer not to call at absurd hours like that.
