Survey
Hang up call from this number.  TD Bank unhappy I wiped out my account and wanted to know why.

#1) TD Bank allowed someone (not me) to walk into a branch and withdraw $4,000 without asking for ID.  The teller refused to close the account and supply fraud affidavits.  When I called my ID theft insurance and the authorities, the money suddenly "reappeared" with apologies of an error.  The teller was fired.

#2) I was at my local branch waiting for the ATM.  A woman and a man (the woman was speaking a slavic language think it was Russian, had a stack of credit cards and at the direction of the man was withdrawing $300 cash on each card.  The man was out of sight from the camera on the ATM and was yelling at the woman in this language giving her direction.  I went inside the bank to report suspicious activity and the usual lack of urgency, the manager in charge wouldn't get off her lazy a** to even look at the incident when it was occurring and she was definitely not interested in dealing with authorities.  When I got home, I reported it to ICE...

#3) Most recently $10K was stolen from the account another blunder of the inept at TD where they executed a court judgement for someone else on my bank account. Again, they refuse to deal with authorities.  They also refused to provide paperwork to prove they even had a levy until I had the courts intervene.  The courts told me I was not the person the judgement executed on and someone at TD bank entered in the wrong Social and did not cross reference the name.  I had to take off work, ask the judge to order the bank to return the money since they refused to cooperate.  Even though the judge granted the order, they refused to comply because they sent the money to whomever had the original law suit.  What a mess... I received $1,125 back from the original theft and I am back in court later this month on contempt with the TD Levy department.  In the meantime, who the hell knows who they gave the $10K to and where it is now.

A guy at work list his wallet with his TD debit card.  I referred him to my lawyer because TD refuses to investigate activity on the debit card that he didn't create.

And now they wonder why they are losing business all over....

TD Bank sucks, they levied my Husband and my Social Security checking account, which has direct deposit from SSI,  which is against the Law.    Not only did they freeze our account, but they took $583.58 out of the account and put it into a side account held by TD Bank, and we don't know where our Money is, and how they use that amount.     They also took $125.00 for Levy Fees by the Bank, and then charged us $10.00 for Maintanance Fee, because they emptied our account, and we did not have the $100.00 in it, which according we need to have in not to be charged this.

Funny thing, we have a problem with New York State Department of Taxation and Finances, who claim my Husband owes them Taxes for the Year 1982, which we never new anything about. It take NYSDOTAF 29 Years to find us, which they claim they tried, and send Notices to a address we never lived at.     Then they file a "WARRANT" against my Husband, and filed the Levy in 1992 against my Husband, with the TD Bank.     Yet my Social Security Check is also directly deposited into our Social Security Checking account, and they froze my Money as well.      We called and spoke to TD Banking representatives and informed them they are violating FEDERAL  LAW, which say's You cannot Levy SOCIAL  SECURITY  DEPOSITS,  but they won't listen, and say that they can.     We have been with TD Bank for over 25 Years, and never had any problem when they where URBAN  NATIONAL, HUDSON  UNITED, but now with TD Bank we have nothing but problems.     We never bounced a check in all these Years, have been good Customers, but that does not mean anything to TD BANK.     TD Bank violated the N.Y. State Law, the N.J. State Law, the Pa. State Law and the Fedral Law, by freezing SOCIAL  SECURITY  DIRECT  DEPOSITS, which they are NOT  ALLOWED  TO  DO, but they do it any way.    But so help me GOD, we will not let them get away with it..

Debt Collector
My Name is Scott and I'm in NJ, and TD Bank will know who I am if they read this POST!!!

IT IS TD BANK!!!  I JUST CALLED THEM BACK, AND I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT IS TD BANK.

I just talked to Dwayne when I called them back.  I have an over drafted checking account that I can't get closed by them.  I have a lien on my account and any chance I get I put money into the account to bring up the balance from the Negative.  Each time I put money into the account the court takes it right away, so I can never ever get the over draft charges off the account, and TD BANK continues to charge my account a fee of $5.99 a day, and $15.00 a month service fee NON STOP.  I have talked to a Lawyer and they cant get this resolved for me at all.  TD BANK refuses to take care of this for me, and why should they?!?!  I went and tried to deposit my SSD Check into the TD BANK Cherry Hill, NJ Branch, and I was turned away as they said to me "We don't do business with people like you, and I should take my Government SSD Check to a Check Cashing Service and pay them the 18% fee to deal with people like you!" This was the manager that stated this to me in front of a lobby full of people.  The Court ruled that my SSD can NOT be Garnished by anyone, Period!  The Bank said they will seize it no matter what the Court says, then I have to pay a Lawyer $1375.00 each month to get my $1925.00 SSD Check back from the Court.

IF you're wondering, before you pass judgment on me here on this forum... I did default on purpose.  I don't dispute this at all, and I have said the same to the courts.  I'm terminal and have no way to cover anything at all anymore, plus my Credit Score doesn't damaged my chances to get into heaven...Well at least I don't think it does?  I'm sure I will find out soon enough :-( If I was wrong I will post back here on the site from the afterlife.

So the calls from the bank continue to come in nonstop 12 a day in pairs starting at 8:03am every stinking day.  I just decided to disconnect my phone and just use my Cell from now on.  I wouldn't put it past TD BANK to show up at my grave site and try and block my burial to get their $159.99 back in pure fees from my family.

Received a call from this number at 3:59 today - no message left.  I called the number back and they said they were TD Bank.  They told me if I provided my debit card number they could look up my account and see why they called.  This must be a scam.  Will report this to my local TD when they open in AM.

I got a call from this number, and he said he wanted to talk to me about a debit card I recently received from TD bank.  I asked him to authorize my account number, or something to prove that he was TD, and he said the best thing he can do is advise me to call the number on the back of my card.  I did that, and they said they had no notes on my debit card. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO THIS NUMBER!!!

The important thing you are forgetting is that YOU called THEM and they needed that info to protect your account. When they are calling YOU, they should have that info, and thus should never ask it of u.  When I have called for password resets they ask my social and the last amount deposited, not things like my debit card info, nor should they. I still say don't give it I'd they ask for it.

Event Reminder
I am a TD Bank employee, this is a TD Bank number, and it's not the home bank headquarters, it is our call center in Canada who has been specifically hired and outsourced to discuss debit card advance (overdraft options) with customers.  They would not ask you for extremely personal info if they call you, but if you call them back they will need your account/social or name to look you up in the system.  They only have limited access to account info because their sole purpose is to discuss overdraft options for customers, therefore they cannot access extended info such as rates, transaction history, stop payments, etc.  They would transfer you to customer service for that.

I found a solution for the harrassment.  when they asked to speak to me, I lied and told them this was the wrong number.  The caller was nice and stated she would take my phone number off the list.  No more calls.  Just lie and they leave you alone.

I just called the number on the back of my TD Bank debit card and spoke with customer service.  I gave them the 8886673863 number and they verified it IS a TD Bank number.  Is has to do with regulations dealing with services attached to debit card accounts.

you're an idiot Red. call the number at the end they ask for you checking account information. which they wouldn't need, all they would actually need is you name and address to find you in the system if they actually had a system but its a scam so its not.

No it actually is TD, its not a scam. No personal information has to be given they just explain the new regulations to you. Why you thought it was a scam is beyond me .

If they are legit....why don't they leave a message saying call this number to go over your options.  Why do they hide their name?  Also, I read the paperwork that came with my credit/debit cards regarding the changes - one of the options is to do nothing...in which case you will not have overdraft protection - if you try to buy something and there is not enough cash in the account the transaction is denied - that is preferred in my opinion - rather then having them cover the overdraft and charge an outrageous fee....I don't believe these calls are legit or they would leave a message.

I finally decided to pick up the phone. The guy said he was calling to go over my option on the new overdraft options. I asked if I could do it at the local branch and he said that is fine to do.

Asking for SSN is typical: If you call your bank for a password reset on your online banking, they will ask you your social and other personal info to confirm your identity, so don't get your panties in a bunch over this. More then likely, the people getting these calls (like me) have not picked their options and once they do the calls will stop coming.

I am not advocating giving your info on the phone, I am just saying that if you want the calls to stop, pick your option and the calls will probably stop.

I got a call last week looking for my TD Debit Card#.  I told the guy where to go, then called and reported the incident to TD Bank.

TD Bank is investigating, they are not placing these calls.  They welcomed my call and said that few calls have come in, but not enough for the authorities to make it a priority.  My recommendation is to give TD the info they need to make it stop.

Even though I put an end to it, I got another call just now.... I guess if at first you don't succeed.....

They want you to say "yes" in some context so they can say they have permission to exempt you from the new banking law changes which PROTECT YOU from certain fees and charges. IF you give them an inch they'll put you back under the old system of higher fees & charges.
Make SURE you clearly say you want: NO more calls; and NO you will NOT accept any changes they want to make to your rights under the new banking regulations.
