I had the same problem, had a guy call saying that we need to pay for the second year of advertising... I asked him to send me info on this because I never heard of them. I get an email from 411 business directory assistance... They said they did video advertising and so on... And that they are willing to give me 50 dollars off if I pay right away.. I said no and looked through all my last year advertising and nothing was there... I am glad you guys posted this so I have a leg to stand on.

few days ago , i got a job in the call centre of  " 411 bussiness directory assistance"...
as i was new to this company , i didnt know the intentions of this company, as we agents were employed only to call some specific people of usa.
we were given a list of 200 contacts and a "pitch paper" daily
pitch paper is a paper in which every thing was mentioned that " how to speak and what to speak with the provided contacts"

we were told to get 898usd payment from the fake clients by threatning them that they have recieved the services of online advertisments and now they must pay their pending invoice.........

ever since i joined this call centre, i was curious to know their sole intentions,, because they have only told us that we are working for a big company, who have provided the services to their clients last year and now it is a time to collect payments from them.....
they said they had 1.6 million clients of which  they have lost data of  20000 clients who owe payments, that is why they running a call centre to obtain money from their 20000 clients....

i left their call centre job because of some internal issues with the manager, because i was a danger for this company,,, because i keep investigating about their company,, they fired me without paying me.
now i have fully understand their intentions...

I worked at this company until I discovered their shady business practices. I actually reported them to Phone Busters. You mentioned the poor students in need of money. Please! Working at a doughnut shop pays better. The collectors are rude and the admin. keeps cutting the sales reps. bonus just to keep salaries low. The owners are pushy and rude, and I think they own the Belle Province next door. The last I heard they were shut down.

This company closed in 2009. Primarily because of problems with employees misrepresenting the company on sales and collection calls. Some, but not all emplyees where caught, disciplined and if caught a second time, the where fired.
Many times the fired employees where upset at there dismissal and threatened revenge. I have little doubt this post is from fired employee.
There where cases where a fired employee tried to blackmail the company by spreading false rumors if they did not receive a sum of money.
Having to deal with such people and situations cased the company the close and the owners to get out of the business.
I worked for them the last month the company was in operation. If they are guilty of anything it's not being able to properly screen people before they hired them.

I checked on this company, they closed in 2009.

I just finished handling the exact same thing, with this company beware!  I did throw a big stink, and that I was going to call anyone and everyone if they did not close my account with a zero balance and fax me a copy of the letter stating that, then she had the nerve to say I was harrassing her!  I did receive the fax!!  The company is out of Montreal qubec, they had to call me back to get my fax number.  ANGIE TOWNSEND and JEREMY RHODES both work for this company!

So how can they keeop doing the samwthing over and over again.  My experience is the same as everyone elses.  Call comes in, make it sound like it is a "free" service rattle off your information wihich is always correct.  (Funny how they asked for me specifically when I have only been here about 2 months.  I listened to my taped conversation and it to saouds like it was tampered with.  I WOULD NEVER AUTHORIZE AN INVOICE FOR $449.95 WITHOUT THE OWNERS OK.

I too, spoke to Mrs. Sullivan and have just gotten the faxed note saying it was a misunderstaning between our compaines, we have been deactivated and place on the do not call list.

NOTE: I told her how much negative stuff was on the internet about them, how they defraud and cheat people and that i would go to the BBB, Atty General, etc.  As soon as I said that she was like I will cancel it no fee will be faxed to you immediately.

This is horrible.  I am going to report them anyway.

411"Im sorry?"
me"oh the lawsuit, one of our employees had his hand accident chopped off by a blow dryer"

411"What?"

me"and replace accidentally with on purpose and replace hand with genitals."

411"This is a lawsuit?"

me"well there is some speculation because I was the one who did it, we were in the bathroom it was the 90's s**t happens."

411"I'm sorry sir but you still owe..."

me"Of the outstanding bill, yeah were not paying it, you see we are an illegal pyramid operation running out of Kentucky but we say were in Los Angeles and we sell massive amounts or narcotics so much that now we have the DEA constantly hounding us so if we owe you any money you can just forget about us paying it due to the fact that we are currently on the run from every police and government official out there."

411"so your not going to pay your outstanding bill"

me"F*** no, and I am sorry I have to go, the DEA was reported by our scouts of coming into the area, we have to move our base of operations again, it was nice talking to you you have a good day."

I have had the exact conversations as others listed here.  This has been going on for about 10 months, and we get bills and dunning letters every several months.  The amounts are the same as others have listed. We also had a taped conversation that was edited obviously to say 'Yes' to a question of did we wnat this service.  I have complained to the FL AG, but if they aren't located there that may do no good.The latest call, on 7-14 came in as 'Private call' instead of the number as others did. I have had several surprisingly nasty calls where she? was very nasty. Of course I was also, so that made her worse. In any case, she was totally out of bounds with her language. No collection call ever results in a shouting match like these.
/can anyone elaborate on the location of this mess? I wonder if Canada is the place, as speculated.

We just recieved an invoice for 449.95 and they have a taped conversation of our secretary but it sounds like it was tampered with. My secretary never buys anything over the phone and claims that she didnt agree to this service. What can we do?

All the previous posts document the same experience we had with 411businessdirect.com  I didn't pay the initial invoice, got a collection call, which I ignored, then spoke with them the 2nd time they called. The woman, "Jill Sullivan" (from Beirut,I later learned) agreed to cancel our "listing" but faxed an invoice for $250 as a "cancellation fee".

I got a call from 888.667.5615 this morning.  He identified himself as Alex.  Said our company had not paid the bill for 65 days.  Wanted to have ledonna call him back.  I didn't know we had anything to do with them so I went on line and found this.

I too had the initial call, followed by harassing phone calls to pay up. They also said they had me on tape. Once I told them I was reporting them to the Attorney General, I received a fax stating that due to a "misunderstanding", our account is now at a zero balance, and we would placed on the do not call list. I reported them anyway. They need to be shut down.

This company called stating that they needed to update their directory.  The caller asked questions to verify my company information then told us that we had a "12 month grace period" and that we had to pay for the "second year" listing. I told the caller that we were never contacted before and that they are running a scam. They said that our name will be remove immediately.

Actually, their REAL address is 1440 Ste Catherine O Ste 421, Montreal QC H3G 1R8. One might have a hard time finding this information, because the company name posted on their office doors is Sixsigma Internet Solutions. Their past names also include Vaya Media and Infomatika. They are owned and operated by George and Peter Hassoulas. If you don't get through to anyone, how about trying their extentions directly. 245(i think, if not then 243) for george and 288 for peter. These two have not only ripped off thousands of companies, but their employes as well, most of which consist of poor students in desperate need of cash. i hope they get shut down and there's one less of these types of companies out there to pollute our beautiful city.

This company called my company stating that they needed to update their directory.  The caller asked questions to verify my company information then transferred the call to another person which was barely understandable.   This company comes across as if you have already done business with them in the past.  We have never done business with them. Then I get an invoice in the mail for $449.95 for a 12 month basic listing on their internet directory.  When I called them to cancel and stop this service, which none on authorized. Now they are trying to get us to pay, saying they recorded the agreement.  We've listened to it but can't understand what is being said.  The tape recording had been cut and spliced, you could here it in the background noise. The recordings that they do have seem to be fraudulantly pieced together after your voice is recorded with yes and no anwers. And of course they can't provide any proof of the original order. The lady who called is Marrisa Solomon, but she also goes by Marrisa Jones. She seems to be a one woman operation.  I see many people have sent in complaints and I hope something will be do about this company soon.

This company is a fraud! They are 411businessdirect.com out of Florida. There address that they provide on the letters they send is: 3109 Grand Avenue, #410, Miami Florida 33133. We never entered into any such contract to do business with them. DO NOT give any information to this company because somehow we too are being harrassed, billed and threatened by the same individuals from this company by the names of Victoria Grant, Andrew Basil, Tanya Paro. We have never done business with this company!! We owe nothing to them but they relentlessly call and send letters. If need be we will take legal action.

These people are TOTALLY scam artists running out of Canada.

I reported these guys to the Florida BBB.  In response, these guys sent me a letter saying we owe them nothing, just so they could appear to have settled the BBB claim amicably.  They sent us a letter - it was postmarked from Plattsburgh, NY - a town on the Canadian border, just south of Montreal.

Also their phone calls came from the 514 area code - which is Montreal.

If you call them at 514-667-5615 you end up getting these same people because they are probably in Montreal.

I received a call today from 411 direct from a Jill Sullivan, with an eastern European accent who was demanding that I pay a past due bill. She said that if I gave her a credit card number, it would be a 10% discount. I told them that I sent the bill back marked "cancel". She said that they had never received cancellation notice and that it should have been sent to Accounts Payable.  I told her that was the address it was sent to.  I asked for a fax number and faxed a copy of the bill with "cancelled' written on it. She said that I had passed the grace period of cancellation and it would cost me $250 now to cancel. She said that grace period of 10 days was mentioned in the original conversation and that she me on tape as agreeing to it. Also, they supposedly had listed our company for 1 year and now as part of the 2 year contract we would have to pay.  I was new at the company and didn't know about the "2 year" agreement and paying on the back end. Now I have another 30 days to pay $250 to cancel.

Same thing happened to our Company.  After months of fighting with them, we finally paid up and then had "411 Business Direct" agree to never contact us again in writting.  I wish we didn't pay them,now we are done with it and  they know what they are.

I got a call from a woman with a British accent saying she was calling on behalf of 411 Business Direct. She stated that someone from our company already called and set up an account with them and that our free 12 months is up and they were just calling to verify our company name and address. So she goes thru and states our company name and i say yes that's correct, then she states the phone number and address and i say "yes" and then she says I'm going to transfer you to someone else, so then they ask me if I can make decisions in the company regarding purchasing. And i say "yes" and then she says do you understand that we will be sending you a bill for $499 dollars with your name on it. And I say NO I DO NOT AUTHORIZE THAT CHARGE. And then they say well somebody else already set you guys up for tht. Then I say, may I ask the name of tht person? And they tell me oh we don't have that info that is in our marketing department. So right there I'm thinking, this must be a scam. I tell them no do not charge us and they say sorry you will be receiving a bill. I then immediately tell our Accounts Payable manager the situation and she says they are probably a fraudulant company. Then a month later sure enough we get a bill in the mail with MY NAME on it and then i realized they duped me. I then proceeded to get harrasing phone calls from a man named Alex and he plays back this so obviously spliced phone conversation with them stating that I am authorizing a charge of $499 dollars and then you hear me say Yes that's correct! and then they tell me, you see we have you on tape authorizing this charge. So they totally made up the fact that somebody else already set up the account and completely conned me and made a fake tape. I am completely outraged and they have been calling and sending us invoices for a year now. The accounts manager is just ignoring the bills and calls and says to hang up on the man when he calls, but it still makes me mad that he has the audacity to harass me like that.

411 Business direct is a scam...please do not talk to them.  An old employee of mine spoke with them and now they only want money.

411 is a total scam do not let them rip you off!

Caller wanted to know if I wanted to continue my listing for the 2010 year in the 411 business directory.
I responded that I did not have a listing and have never been contacted for a listing in that directory.
The caller insisted that I did have a listing for the past 5 years and they would discontinue the listing and send me an invoice for the past service in the amount of $795.00.
I told the caller that I did not want to recieve an invoice, that I have never agreed to a listing in that publication and have no contract with that publication.
The caller hung up!

yes bill...i have been in the actual offices and i provided in my post above the exact address and owners names so that all companies being defrauded can report the the the attorney general, and more importantly, to the competition bureau in canada. if you ever want to nail a fraudulent company, these are the guys you absolutely need to contact.

This company has deceptive practices to encourage your staff that you are already doing business with them and calls to verify your business information so that their files are updated. Do not give out any company information to this company or the next thing you know you will be recieving a bill from them. Bottom line is that if who ever they talked to does not have a corporate resolution signed by company officers authorizing that individual to accept or decline new accounts, 411 does not even have a leg to stand on in collecting a debt obtained by that individual knowingly or not.

your very welcome, chris. please everyone who might have passed by the information that i posted to help all of you file complaints: the attorney general need their address, and the number of complaints they receive determines how fast they get busted. i have given you the real names of the owners as well, but the complaints have to come from the companies being defrauded. i have already contacted the RCMP police here in canada confidentially as well as the competition bureau to tell them what i know. the names that they are giving you on the phone are not real, but it's not the salespeople who are liable, but the owners.

Yes, this company did the same thing to us...I did pay them a small portion and then said screw it.  I turned them over to the better business bureau in Florida and I also turned them on the federal level.  Once I did this they took the charges away.  Amazing, first they wanted to file a law suit against me and today they took all of the charges off and added me to their do not call list.  Go after 411 hard and they will leave you alone.

This is what 411 wrote to me..I have received your complaint and the account is close.  The balance is now zero.  Hera a copy of a letter you can keep for your files. if you have ay  questions please let me know respectfully mairsa jones manager customer service division and resolution depot....good english, don't you think.  What a joke this company is more like a fraudulent scam.

I just recieved a billing today for a 411 service. I had no idea what this service was.My leasing associate thought she was verifying the information that they read to her. Now I get a letter stating I owe them $449.95I spoke with a Debra who played a recording but it states nothing about a purchase  After finding this site I see this is a a scam if they already have 87 complaints against them.I am filing a complaint with the BBB.
