The numbers are automatically generated. If you're nice about it and ask to be removed from their list politely they'll be more than happy to do it. But don't expect them to if you just scream into their ear and slam the phone done. These people are just doing their jobs, stop taking things so personally.

I am having the same problem with this number here in Maine.  My number is unlisted and unpublished so they got from somewhere.  I also wonder the purpose of the DO Not Call registry if these calls are coming through!

Ive added this number to my phones blocked list. But it still rings when they call!!  How are they getting around the block???

Received a call from (203)643-9228 Branford CT  Left a message say " we can be reached at (888)671-3054. If you'd like to speak to a live operator select #1"  They have called several times in past 2 weeks.

These people have been calling at all hours for the last several days.
They don't leave any message. What happened to the "do not call" registry???

Company is "Circulation Development"and make offers for newspapers. Call the number back, select 0 to speak to operator. Ask them to remove you from their call list.

Called twice no message left, called 9PM and 9AM.

Received call 2/4/2009 telling me they are from my local newspaper and wondering if I'd like to subsribe.  I've been a subscriber for over 30 years, and told them they need to get their records straight.

Got one a few moments ago.

I made it abundantly clear to the circulation manager for our town's newspaper that any contract to contact was between me and the newspaper, and demanded that he contact the company(-ies) that were badgering me.

he promised he would.

his promises are codswallop.

i have set my phone to forward any calls from these twits right back to the number from which they called.

technically, the DNC doesn't apply.  ethically it does.

On 1/5/09 @ 8:08pm...they're back...... Then another call came in on 1/6/09 @ 9:51 am.  So, I called the circulation manager at The Day newspaper, telling him (left a message I should clarify) that their hired telemarketers from NJ are at it again; I told him to get in touch with them immediately and put a STOP to this phone harassment, because I will never again subscribe to that newspaper...I also told him that I will now be charging the New London Day $1000 per call and that they were now in the red for $2000 so far as of yesterday. Yes, I will have an attorney send a letter as such if I rec. one more call!

A company based in NJ who is hired by your local newspaper co. to get more subscribers; and those who have dropped the newspaper to re-subscribe. The "NEW LONDON DAY" in New London, CT has hired these out of staters to bother us in Ct.

Ask the caller who they represent and call your paper directly...IF YOU CAN REACH A REAL PERSON!  These people are relentless.

These people left the same kind of message -the phone they can be reached at. I'm wondering if it's not a telemarketer, but a theft identity scam, considering other postings. If a telemarketer, why say they are something else? But they may be posing as such to see if they can get some personal info to use...

unsolicitated calls at all hours

I called the number back and you get a recording saying that it a newspaper circulation company.  So in other words they are trying to sell you a subscription to the news paper.  Very annoying....I now will answer the phone next time they call and tell them to remove me from their list.

Left message on answering machine with only (paraphrased) "we can be reached at the number during normal business hours"

This number called my cell phone. Wondering who it was.
