Hello everyone. I am back. So I am officially done paying off my account with this Co. All I am waiting for now is a paid letter which they told me could take up to 3-4 weeks for processing. I'm not sure why I would have to wait so long but they told me it standard procedure. Anyways, the only problem I had was they ran one of my payments early and said it was an error. They said they would fix it but I just said whatever leave it and the lady told me she would remove my last payment for the error. So all in all I was fine with it. Anyways, one good experience doesn't mean there can't be bad experiences. Always demand proof of the debt before paying anything. If they can't prove it, you don't owe it.

They called me saying that the had a warrant out for my arrest wthey say that they was calling from the Harris County Clerk office. I asked her name and she said Ms. Johnson and she even gave me a case number I asked for her phone number and she said the number was 888-676-9505 but couldn't give me any info about the case. This is scam because they voice sounded really phone and the lasy was in a rush to get off the phone. And that I need to form of ID because someone will be at my house between the hours of 2-5pm

I got a message from this company by a robo dialer. I was asked to call back about returned transaction from my bank. I called my bank so see what was going on and low and behold they told me my account was fine, so I called the number to tell them to stop calling or I was contacting my attorney. I ended up speaking to a Tonya, in which she explained to me I bounced a payment on a loan I had taken out about a year ago and that they filed this on my credit report already w/o my knowledge and were going to further the account w the credit bureaus if I did not pay it. As skeptical as I am, I advised this company not to contact me anymore bc I pay my bills. Well, the lady I talk to insisted on my pulling a credit report (she said they were free yearly) and that it would reflect a negative mark which they won't have removed unless I paid the account. Again, as skeptical as I am, I did pull my report and found I did have an account listed but not by the name of the company they told me they were. I immediately contacted my attorney, assuming these people somehow hacked into my information, and my attorney then called them. Comes to find out they work for another company by the name of nrg who listed this on my credit report. I guess my attorney thinks they are legitimate, he set up payments for me to get this paid off. We have been provided documentation concerning the debt and so far my first payment went through as scheduled. I just hope this isn't a scam bc I am trying to fix my credit and they told me it would be wiped out after I pay. I will follow up when I'm all done paying  and see if they really do what they say they do....

These calls are likely to have been made by an aggressive scammer to extort money and/or extract information from you to steal your identity and commit fraud.  You will not get advance warning of an impending arrest unless it the threat is fraudulent or made by a law enforcement officer soliciting a bribe. They would just come and arrest you wherever you are at, without warning.

Don't call these people back -- you are just giving them more information about yourself to further their scam.  Even if you just call their number back, they will get your telephone number, unless it is blocked.  And if you call an 800, 888, 877, 866, or 855 number (and eventually, an 844 number, when these are put into service, your phone number CANNOT be blocked, even if you try to do so.  (There *are* ways of making it appear that you are calling from a phone that is not yours, however.  For example, you can create a Skype account under a handle [not your real name] and use SkypeOut to dial the toll-free number on your computer without having to buy any Skype credits or pay anything at all.  But you still run the risk of *saying* something that might be useful to the scammers.)

Called asking for my husband, referring to a "case you are attached to" on his former mother-in-law that he hasn't seen or spoken to in almost 12 year, asking him to call before they file a claim in Contra Costa County (where he has not lived in 12 years). My guess is junk debt buyer playing skip tracer.
