I received a letter in the mail today stating that they would like to buy my property for "x" amount of money. The number is the same as the debt collector number in all these post. I called the number and the mailbox was full, but it gave me a different phone number. I am concerned about this.

they keep calling me and I told them I was in a very bad funding with bills and was not getting bye. trying to sell off stuff to make it. why cant these people quit kickin a dead horse for?

My daughter has moved to UK 5 years ago.  She is now married and has a different last name.  The refuse to tell me who they are and what the bill is for because it is a "personal" matter.  I of course did NOT give them any of the information they wanted, phone number etc. or that she has changed her name.  When I explained that this number is not a toll free call from UK the girl on the phone checked with her manager. Came back and said it was.  I explained that it is not, again she checked with the manager and they then said, well she moved so she has to pay the cost of the call.  My daughter has checked all of the USA credit companies and they all say she does not owe anyone anything.  Be carful!

We offered to pay them via a prepaid card and all was fine and dandy. we figured we'd do it long enough to keep them out of our hair since they called my hubs at work (isn't that illegal/harassment?? ) anyways they apparently don't want my money because we call back to set it up and they are disputing how much money that we wanted to pay (they wanted 100 and I said 60 at most was all we could pay they agreed and now they are like well....) then they don't want to take american express, and they wanted to charge 9.95 to process the card in general!  It's creepy that when we call with a blocked # they know who we are too!

I really thought they were sketchy from the get go, they keep calling numbers that I have NO IDEA HOW THEY GOT including my hubs work, my parents house,...also usually when people want to settle a debt don't they want to settle for a percentage?  Also, they really hammer the fact they want a BANK ACCOUNT # and info. I mean I didn't just fall off the potato wagon.. There is NO ONE Getting that info!

Honestly I told them to sue us. Screw it. You can't bleed a turnip! If you wanted payment and were legit you'd take it how we can pay it!

Just received the call from a local number asking to call the 1888#. I let it go to answering machine and difficult to understand lady robot voice had my husband's middle initial wrong. It appears the debt recovery company uses a phone directory and tries every number under the same first&last name, hoping to find the right person.

I received a call from access recovery service using this 800-number as a call back, but now they are using proxy phone numbers to call me, so my machine will not block their calls.

This is against the law. It is important to find out who this place is and get an attorney and sue!

Received calls within 5 days of each other....

I, too, got a call reversal from these people. I pulled my credit report to determine what I owed since being laid off 2 years ago. Now working 2 ft jobs to pay off debt. First I got a rude guy who yelled and threatened, then called back and got a female, "Jamie". Finally I called back on March 7, 2011 and was making payment arrangements but something did not seem right. So cancelled everything on March 25, 2011. A Ms. Roberts was sarcastic, then a guy called back and was yelling and threatening to take my house, my bank account, my truck and notify my employer and garnish my wages. Really? In TX? I don't think so. This is Asset Recovery Solutions, LLC supposedly based in Des Plaines Il, but caller ID shows Louisiana and a search of Illinois businesses shows nothing. This is what is out ragious, I called them to set up payment or pay off, they didn't contact me.

I just spoke to Mr. Yonan and he practically yelled at me because I asked to speak to the representative that I was dealing with from Asset Recovery Solutions, apparently it was after hours when I called.

These people have been attempting to contact me for over a week...everytime they call they are trying to get more information from whomever aswers the phone.  Today, Mr. Younan called my parent's home and then asked for my cell phone # and my sister refused.  She told him I was at work and asked where I worked (none of his business!!!).  She told him that she was not giving out that information and he said, "that's fine...i'll get it myself one way or another."  A few days ago he called and told the person that answered the phone that it was a work call!  This is NOT right!!!  He isn't even contacting my home..he's been contacting my parent's home....I'm a grown woman who hasn't lived at home in many many years!  I'm VERY annoyed...I have a friend that's a credit attorney and am going to report this!

These people called my employer to verify my employment.  His name was Mr. Orengo with ARS supposedly.  I think it is assett recovery trying to collect on an old credit card debt that I let go.  Since they are verifing employment I guess maybe they are getting ready to sue.

These people that call and work for debt collectors are nothing more than LOSERS. The only way they can feel as if they belong in society is to harass people they don't even know or see. If these losers ever came to my forest they would run away while sh***ing themselves. Truth is they bought debt from a bank that has already been compensated by you through our tax payer funded bailout and they probably paid 10 cents on the dollar for it. It's a crap shoot with them much like Vegas. What to do? Answer the phone, say hello can you please hold on? set the phone down and have a beer.
