Received call with computer voice stating that Credit Union West has deactivated my credit card due to unusual spending and to please call 888-683-5053. When I call that number, the same computer voice asks for my 16-digit credit card number followed by the pound sign. I entered my card info and when I pressed pound the call was disconnected - I then paniced and call my credit card fraud number - they told me it was not a call from them and reported it as a fraudulent call and cancelled my credit card.

Same thing just happened to me. They left message on my cell phone. Someone has to know who has this number. Here is a case that one cop assigned to track down the owner and see if there is a way to stop this scaming. Much greater use of the policeman than his tracking down a pot smoker.

Same thing happened to me ....also entered any numbers and repeated the call
time for the people who sale the phone lines pay for the crime..they can't just say they just sell the service. We should have a number to call and report a number

This appears to be a credit card number collector.
