Unscrupulous b*****ds!  I applied for a job online and this number called me.  They are scam artists.  There is no job.  They just want your info so that they can sell your information to education organizations.

Recv'd a text to call this number about a position I had applied for. The number is to a verification company. They verified my information was correct and forwarded my resume directly to the company.  Very quick.  They're legit.

honestly guys i have works for them and dnt work for them any more

but if u get a call from them tell them to take u off the list or watever and then call the bbb or someone!!

trust me there is NO JOB there. i just verifyed applications all day then tryed to get them to further their education.

why? well thats how we got payed. if u said yes and call the number we gave u and it went thro wen u called them somehow and u wanted to go back to school. thats how we got money.

no offense and i know im probably making many ppl mad and trust me u can b mad at me. i dnt want to say my name due to ppl who may sue me (my ex employers of career network aka the internet company aka three stars inc/media) but i may go on the local news and tell ppl to dnt trust them

i didnt know if there was a job or not because we got ALOT of job applicants with the same job applying for and from different states. all we could say was "well the job should b located within 25 miles of your home address" because we honestly had no clue where it was if any. it sickened me everyday. so again sry for those who may b mad but i want to be brutal with you all. plz call the bbb or whoever to stop them because i believe that what they have been doing is illegal.

Seems very suspicious that they would text you.  I don't even know how they received my cell? that's what baffles my mind, obviously somewhere i place my cell number.  my said front office position! that's the furthest away from anything i applied for!

Many of you mention that they *verified* your information.  Did they have the information and ask you if it was true?  Or did they ask you to provide the information?

Husband got a TEXT this morning, same stuff. He called and they said it would take 5-45 min, so he was going to call them at lunch. We ARE NOT going to give them any information or confirmation of address. At best, it's a scam for spam mail, at worst...well, there are lots of identity theft stories ouit there- that could be you.

They are preying on the unemployed or unhappily employed out there who just want a shot at that job.

FYI, not all 888,866,877 etc numbers are Toll-free.

I just got a text from this number today but haven't yet called it back because it doesn't seem legit to me.  If someone wants to verify my information, why arent' they calling?
The message said "Hi Alison (last name), call me about the Trainer Job you have applied for 8886931347. (txt STOP to cancel)

I just got a text from them saying "Hi Lauren. Please call me at 888-693-1347 about the Customer Service Agent position that you applied for - or text 'stop' to cancel future texts"

I haven't called it yet, but that certainly seems weird that they're TEXTING people instead of calling them and verifying. Doesn't sound legit to me!

Just got a text from this number. Wasn't too sure what it was but when I called it was Career Network. They were contacting me about an application I had submitted online. It was just a prescreening and verification of my info. Call only took a few minutes and then they send it to the hiring manager.

Just got off the phone with Career Network and I called them per request via text message. They offer a prescreen and verification service to its applicants for their employers. The call was brief and was just to verify all of the information I put on my application before it was turned into the management of the job.

Did anyone receive a call from the hiring manager?  I was verified however was pitched for something called Education Connect.  I really hope this was a legit call for a real job and not a sales call.

I recieved a text message saying the recieved my application and I was to call this number to verify further information. It took less than 5 minutes, and they didn't ask anything that wasn't already on the application besides if I was a US citizen.  They said they will now forward my resume on to the employer.

I replied stop too, and that is the same thing I got. I was very suspicious because it was in the form of a text, it had the stop to cancel message, and there was no name of a person.

Had a text message asking me to call about a job. Didn't know who they were, so stupid me called. The lady SOPHIA refused to tell me who she was working for, other than I had applied on line for a job, and she needed to ask me question which would take up to 45 minutes of my time, to confirm my job application.Told her didn't have time, and I would call back. WHO would text a person regarding a job, they would either phone, e.mail and also I>D> themselves.I was very concerned about this, therefore looked on line, and was glad I did,Quite a lots of opinions that this is a scam. I therefore text back a STOP message blocking them. In this economic climate I think its really bad that people who are struggling, spending time and so much effort looking for a job have to put up with SCAMS like this.Where is the LAW in this country!!!!!!

24 hours after applying for multiple marketing jobs, I got a text from 56030.  The callback number was 1-800-455-5537.  "Jewel" answere the phone, and it sounded like this may have been her first day on the job.  Jewel simply told me that they were just verifying my interest in the job, but could not tell me what company it was that I applied to.  Additionally, she stated it was within a 30mile radius of the company.  However, she never "verified" anything.  She never asked for any of my areas of interests, job positions, or anything of the sort.  She just kind of sat there reading a script.

I was waiting for a sales pitch, when the line went quiet.  I asked if there was anything they needed from me or anything else I was supposed to do, and she seemed totally clueless; she kept reading the same "good luck" speech over and over again.  Bordering on humorous, I am not sure what to think of this "verification service," but I don't think it has anything to do with getting me a job.

i got a text from this number this morning about a job I DID apply or last night.
ALSO!!!!! I KNEW they were going to text me because when I signed up for a job last night they gave me the option of being texted about certain jobs. So, maybe ya'll filled out a job application onlince recently? and missed the "get texts about jobs" box you checked?
Anyways, I'm not calling them because from what it sounds like from you guys, it's just a scam.
I don't want to work for a company that uses this BS to get employees.

Yea, my text said the same exact thing as everyone else's and im glad i googled it to find this posting. It is sad what people are doing now a days to lure people into going to college when nobody can afford it. Its crazy how these companies can get people's phone numbers to solicit schooling over the phone. Who would have ever thought??

I just got the same text - Hi (Insert your name, first and last) Call me about the Construction Site Manager job you applied for. When applying for this job, I think I had to go through a bunch of screen that kept asking me about furthering my education, so I believe that this is also the case. It may be a legitimate text that will end up with an interview, but I agree that the HR or recruiting department should contact you. You know, you have to enter your info in so many websites these days that you can easily forget what and where you applied to.
