It's the former number of the TV Show Blind Date from who knows how long ago.

I thought the postcard looked familiar, so I too looked it up on google.  Received a similar card from same company several years ago.

I just got one in Clarksville, TN. My birthday was three days ago... I figured it was a scam because of the no return address and not knowing who sent it. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

Well, they are still at it. I see posts as far back as 2009 & I just got my post card today. They've listed a new number 1-888-866-9180 to call. This smart chick is taking it to the shredder. Thanks too all who took the time to post about this scam.

I don't know about this company EWS (I got a postcard too) but as far as rainsoft goes it is a great company! I got my rainsoft system straight from them and it has saved me money! So i don't know how they are assoc. with EWS and why they would send me one of these (repeatedly) if I am already a customer of rainsoft.

Just filed a complaint with the BBB and hope to save some people the agony of having to go though all this, as we received the post card after receiving an e-mail indicating a parcel was waiting. NOT TRUE, and yes 'annoyed in Pleasant View', we are annoyed in White House also!

One complaint web-site I use frequently is www.callercomplaint.com. I have filled numerous #'s and in this case the number on the card and the number at the top of 800 notes.
PS: We received an e-mail as well as the card. We ARE NOT responding to this parcel scam.

I received the same card as the others except the number is 888-478-2768. I called the number and got a voice message stating they were in office of ews but away from the phone.

Just got the same post card from EWS today on October 30, 2012 and the phone number was different as well. 1 888 866 9180 was the number they provided for a package that I was expecting. I am waiting on new tires for my car and assumed they couldn't deliver the large package and needed me to drive to Nashville to receive it. From Clarksville, it's not too far, but definitely out of the way for a package. I called the number and was told it was a water conditioner company and they told me that I could get a water tech out to my house to do a water test. I had to deal with another company doing the whole water softner thing before, so I told them not to even bother.

EWS sent 2 cards to Chapel Hill address today.  New phone number 1-888-866-9180.  I had no phone call.

Postcard received this week from EWS with a control number and the #1-888-866-9180, claiming they have a parcel delivery for me. I don't know of anything it could be, concerned it may be a scam.

Like one of those below, no phone call but a post card with "we have a parce delivery for  you" on it. No address or source other than EWS, a control number and phone number 1.888.866.9180. Hard copy spam if you ask me.

I got the same postcard.  It is just after Christmas, so I thought someone had sent something.  When I called and got a message to give my name and number, I hung up.  I'm also in mid TN.  Her's a note:  They have a NEW PHONE NUMBER listed.

The one I received today showed the phone number to be 1-888-498-6873, with the same weird logo with people in blue outfits and the letters EWS on top of the post card. I'm glad I had the information here to find out it was a scam before I bothered calling them. Hopefully, having this phone number will help compile a list of numbers to avoid.

Got one today in Manchester, TN. from EWS, printed control #, and the phone # 877-439-7754.  Oh Boy!

I got one on Friday, August 7th, in Oak Hill (Nashville).  The call number is different -- 877-439-7754 -- but everything else is consistent with what people have reported here.  I called; was asked to leave a message but did not.

I got the same postcard at my Nashville Tn address.  I called within the times listed on the postcard and got a voice message to leave my name, control number and telephone number for a callback. Nobody called me back.

Got one in Pegram, TN.

Rec'd post card - control # is printed, not handwritten.  Label is typewritten so the addresses must be generated from some marketing list.  This Tel # appears on my caller id frequently requesting that we call them back.  They have # and address so if this was a real delivery service, they would have attempted delivery and left a note on your front door with instructions if they missed you, not require you to call them and leave personal information!  Don't be fooled by this. simply ignore it as junk mail and block the number from your phone.  Also don't forgot to add your tel # to the do not call registry.
