Just got an e-mail awarding us the Freight Forwarder award. We obviously thought is was a great award, plague and design. Decided to order plague but thought I would google the 888-731-3985 number. Glad I did. Trying to cancel the credit card order now and may be out the $199.98. Thought it was..."to good to be true." Shouldn't have to buy an award as previously stated. Try as hard as we may, some scam artists get through. Guess that is why we call them artists.

I got the same message about an award in Fayetteville, AR, the phone number was at the bottom of the email. Thank you all for posting your experiences. Looks like they've gone from scamming individuals to scamming companies. Did not and will not participate.

They wrote saying I won the award in a town I have not lived in for 7 years.

Thanks Alan and everyone else on here. I was suspicious and I am glad that I googled the number which took me to this page. You all have just confirmed my suspicions and of course they contacted the company I work for as well talking about we won an award. Just like you Alan, I was like, if we won the award, why do we have to pay for it....DUH! Any way thanks again and I appreciate the info.

They attempted to scam the Humanists of Washington with a phony business award. Don't give these people any information.

Received two e-mails, original and second notice, that our company has won a Best of Santa Ana (California) Award for Building Maintenance Services; our company doesn't provide building maintenance services!! It has this number on the bottom to call; I didn't.

I googled the domain names in the "Awards" email and guess what? They were registered "today".... what does that tell you?

Also got an "Award Notification" - very suspicious - glad I Googled this discussion to confirm my intuition. Scammers should die.

We too received an email saying we've won a "Best Of" from a Colorado Springs Award Program. The parent company, however, is "The Los Angeles Reward Program", so WTF they're doing promoting this in Colorado Springs escapes me, other than the obvious ... it's a scam. Click on their link and they give you the privalege of ordering either an overpriced plaque or an even more overpriced "crystal" award. We've never won an award where those awarding it didn't provide the award or plaque for free, so, if it looks like poop, smells like poop, and makes you gag like poop, it's probably poop!

Received their bull crap email. Links obviously to give us a virus or what have you. Do not call them assuming the number is even valid. 1-888-731-3985 they are a scam and spammers.

got calls a year ago from kessler/freedman, and now getting calls from "the bar group" is this the same co. just with a different name? im really tired of this bulls#!t.
| The Advocate 2009-11-18 01:08:04 Unknown |
If they stated that you were "served" over the telephone, that is just a scare tactic. A person/company/entity cannot effectuate "service" over the telephone. Do not return their calls. This is a scam to get your private information and money!
| The Advocate 2009-11-18 01:06:34 Debt Collector |
Do NOT return their phone calls or provide any information. They are running a scam. They have just enough information about you to be dangerous! When I advised my aunt to let them know that she'd contacted her attorney and the police about the call(s), they hung up on her and she hasn't heard from them since. Get as much information from THEM as you can if they catch you on a call and then file a police report.
