I get a call from a woman saying i have a claim against me and this is the number for some alliance company and she has no idea who she is supposedly representing.

That sounds like a proper use of police time and the courts.  Must not be anything happening in Arkansas.

You really don't know how telemarketing works, do you?  If you pick-up, they'll put you on the "this idiot answers the phone, let's sell his number to everyone" list.

Getting this call 2 times a day...dead air and then a hang up!  Who has time for this!!

I am a Register.com customer. I as damn tired of these robo calls. I sent an email to sandy@register.com on 3/26/12. According to their on hold message he says he's the president. We'll see what happens

How can I get 1-888-749-3550 to stop calling me?  I am the do not call list registry with the FTC.

I received 10 calls in one day from this number, the next four days I received 7 calls every day. After the very first call I told them to remove my telephone number from their calling list, however they did not. I filed a police report for harassment against Register.Com, the county sheriff forwarded the report to their corporate offices and I have yet to hear from them again. If you are being harassed by them, I would suggest doing the same. (In Arkansas and a few other states it is illegal for telemarketers to call via automated machines. Research your state law and if it is illegal take them to small claims court for harassment and breach of peace. If everyone does that they will learn that computers should not dial their telephones.

Register.com.  These jack*sses don't know when to give up.  After ignoring their calls at least 10 times over the last 2 weeks, I finally decided to answer and tell them to stop calling me.  The lady responded "well alrighty then."  Jack*sses.

The calls come in frequently and to my cell phone.  There is never anyone there and no message is ever left.  If a company is going to use auto-dialers, they should be more respectful in the settings.  If this is Register.com as others have suggested, I have 3 accounts with them and probably receive 3x as many calls as I should.  I'd really like this practice to stop.  I'm getting multiple calls a day.

I get at least 8 calls daily from this place.  I explained to the customer service agent when I called the number for register.com (1.888.734.4783) that mine is my place of business, and I never registered for the service, and do not appreciate the constant interruptions by the auto-caller and the dead air.

The lady was extremely apologetic, asked me the number that the autodialer was calling, and told me it may take 24/48 hrs before the phone calls stop.

If I am unimpresed by their auto-dialer, I am most certainly impressed with their customer service agents.  They're doing something right.

This number has called the office anywhere from early morning to the afternoon to 8pm at night. If I answer it I hear nothing but dead air. Can't understand what they are trying to achieve.

Thats why you keep getting called.

If you wanted to get ahold of me (YourMom) and I didnt answer, you'd probably try to call me back later that day or the next day.  If it was important, you probably wouldnt stop trying until you got ahold of me.

If you really want the calls to stop you are way better off just answering the phone and saying "not interested", then the caller has to mark you as "called-declined" which removes you from the dialing list.

Constantly ignoring the call is not going to make the calls stop.  You have to respond to the call if you want it to stop.

I've been getting these calls nearly every day for weeks.  I finally just called the number back.  Normally, that doesn't work, but in this case a Register.com agent (telemarketer) answered and I politely requested that I be added to their do-not-call list.  I explained that this system of theirs is likely to backfire on them and that they should reconsider it.

While I am on the national do-not-call list, I have a Register.com account and that means they may legally market to me on the phone while I am their customer and for up to 18 months after I leave.  

Blocking them with software is one approach, but they are legally obligated to honor a personal request to be removed from marketing lists even while you are their customer.

Honestly, I don't mind them calling per se; I mind the robo-calls where answering the phone leads to dead air.  That is a terrible way to treat a long-time customer.

Got a call from this number. The caller left no message.

This is the new tactic Bill Collectors are using... They keep auto dialing your number until you get pissed off enough to call the number back. It's very annoying and quite shady. Just block the number or call them and pay your bill.

It is from register.com, trying to get  me to renew domains I own (even though they aren't/weren't the original or current registration source).

I use Call Control on my cell phone.  You can get it for very little cost and it is nice to place all calls I don't ever want again on my "blocked" list, since telemarketers hang up before I can tell them put me on the "do not call" list.  Only thing I don't like is it notifies me when a blocked caller contacts me. If I block them, I don't want to have any info on them.

Calls sometimes twice a day, every day for over a week. Same as above... I called the number and just sat there on hold for a half hour and finally hung up.

They call my cell phone!!! And I don't have unlimited minutes. I think I'll quit using Register.com.

Three calls a day at least for a month. Relentless! Never answer the phone anyway. Caller ID is worth its weight.
