Terrible line quality but I think the caller said he calling on behalf of Bell *and* Cellular Mobility (?) offering me a free camera cell phone in a random draw, but wanted me to confirm my name and address and add it to my plan. If he was calling from Bell he would know my name and address. Then he said he was calling from the other company. Since I just got a brand new phone I was suspicious and hung up on him.

I just got a call from this number today as well. i missed it - no message so i am guessing it was a machine that starts the call. thanks for the post - i wont answer if they try again.

If the phone doesn't show up, then you know for sure the caller's intentions are hostile and you need to do whatever you have to to mitigate the damage as appropriate - place fraud alert on credit reports, close accounts, etc. If the phone shows up and it's a legit offer, we shouldn't assume it's a scam but there's no free lunch so they're gonna make back their money somehow. There may be hidden fees associated with the phone so using it might be unsuspectingly expensive. The least painful outcome is he may simply be called to death by telemarketers but anything can happen so keep an eye on his credit report and financial accounts especially the one that's been associated with the phone, if indeed one has been. As far as scams go, there may be authorization buried in the fine print to negative-option bill your card by 3rd-parties.

i got a call from this number offering a free cell phone in exchange for personal information and said he was with bell or solo my fiance fell for it and gave his information out what do i do now ?????

Got a call on Sep 26 too.  Call display showed unknown number, so did not pick up.

Just got the call, couldn't understand the person on the phone, everything in the background was very loud and drowning her out.  NO IDEA what the heck it is, or who.

Called back, same thing, can't understand them.  Sounds like they are all yelling in the phone.  I asked if this was a telemarketing call, and she said no, but that was all I could figure out.
