You know what would be good for consumer security; a consumer set security question that is encrypted and can be requested by the consumer to confirm that you are infact speaking with a representitve of the company. They want to confirm that we are who we say we are.. why cant we do the same for them?

Received a email mar 5th 2013 asking to insert credit card number to keep service going. My service does not renew until summer. The account number was wrong. Just to be sure I called the 8882466196. Sounded like friends chatting in background. When I asked where was I calling, the guy said "if you guess I will give you a $10 credit on your account--no lie." He then told me "and don't guess India." He said I was calling Egypt. Sirius radio needs to address scams like this by sending customers a warning about this dangerous phishing scam!!!

The email I received is NOT legitimate. Had the wrong account number and addressed it to Michael.
Requested my credit card information be updated and I do not have a card on file with Sirius. It did not pass the smell test.

This past weekend, I received a call from someone claiming to be a Sirius radio customer service representative. The rep claimed the credit card I use to have an automatic withdraw done every month to pay for my subscription, was no longer valid. I haven't changed banks and I don't have a new card. I refused to give out my credit card number, despite the threat my subscription would be terminated. I haven't had my subscription terminated, so I assume the caller was not legit.

Got an email.

I just got this message and called the regular customer care #. The rep confirmed I was all paid up and claimed to be ignorant as to what the email was attempting to do. He then tried to sell me another radio plan. My 2 cents is it's a Sirius scam - they get you to call, apologize for the inconvenience, and then try to upsell you. I told the guy since I was calling him, I wasn't interested in his sales pitch.

What;s disconcerting to me is that 2 days ago I updated my CC info with Sirius directly over the phone. Sirius needs to get their act together and have their systems talk to each other so we don't get emails that freak us out!

This is a phishing e-mail. I checked with the number I used to set up the account and my account was not running out and the customer service representative said that the 888-756-2547 number was not their number.

Got the same email and had an uneasy feeling. So I contacted the official Sirius number and the operator had a manager check. The number DOES belong to them. It goes to their "Non-Payment" department for when your credit card information needs to be updated or if it has declined. I feel much better now.

I got the same email and logged onto our Sirius account. The account numbers do not match up and our account will not be expired for 2 months. I believe this to also be phishing.

This is not a phishing e-mail. I just received the same e-mail. The e-mail and phone number are legit. The e-mail had my correct account number. To be sure, I went to the Sirius website (directly, not throught the link in the e-mail), logged into my account, confirmed the account number, and confirmed that my subscription was coming up for renewal and the info in the system was for an old card and old address so they definitely needed new info from me. I then called the number and they verified that they needed updated contact and card info and were able to provide me information confirming they were indeed from Sirius. I told them that I went into the system directly and updated all the info. That was all they needed. If you're still concerned, just log into your account directly and make sure contact and credit card info is correct.
