SPAM-- They sent me a message using pix on my cell phone to say:

"UMPQUA__NOTICE: Your CARD.  Has been placed on HOLD.  Please contact us at: (888)7670803."


Now, first off, I do not have an Umpqua account of any kind. Second off, no reputable bank or card company is going to SPAM your cell phone. That pix message cost me about 25 cents just to receive it. I believe it is a trap to get you to call and give them your personal info SO THAT THEY CAN RIP YOU OFF!

We got the same text from Verizon pix, exactly as stated above, at about the same time this evening.  We are in Oregon.  We too, do not have an Umpqua account, and it makes me think whoever the spammers are must be from Oregon since there are many things Umpqua around here.  At any rate, I hope somebody can figure out who these stupid spammers are and shut them down~

It said exactly the same thing. I am in Oregon too and don't have an umpqua acct either.

Would like to know  if there is a way to block spam ctexts & pix to cell phone.  Also received verizon wireless pix "notice saying Umpqua card starting in 4788 is on hold and to call (888) 7670803 on 6/9/10 at 4:09 pm.  Not an Umpqua Bank customer, they wouldn't send a pix or ask a customer for info leading with FIRST 4 digits of a card.  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER OR AT THE VERY LEAST DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOU!  

Have place a complaint with Verizon online and asked about blocking future texts or pix.

I had the sane type of message come to me.  I do not have a bank account of any kind thru south umpqua bank, either.  It has to be some sort of scam tho.

I don't have acct. with Umpqua and did not call, but I don't appreciate
paying for spam calls.

Got the same message last night. Great to have this website to check out scams like this.

Received message in text about putting hold on  a card from Umpqua bank. do not have an account with this bank.
