We actually live in Greenville, SC and my parents house received the call tonight.  Wish I had more info to take to the local police.

Received the same call that was left on my voicemail saying my name had been pulled "last night" and I've won a cash prize from the Greenville center.  A contest that I entered a year/year and a half ago. (which I did not).  I was directed to  call John Carmen (or Carman) at 888-774-2004 by 10 pm.

Got a call tonight twice today, one for us and one for my adult daughter. What a freaky coincidence. We both won!  I hope John Carmen won't be disappointed if I don't call him back.

Me too. Same message from a John Carmen. Mr. Carmen if you read this please post your address so we can all come by and pick up our prizes.

Same thing. John Carmen calls and claims he needs me to call him back before 9pm to claim my prize. Says he is from NJ. He only had my first name. I didn't call him back. If not scam then must be a sales call.

Got the same call with same message from John Carmen.

I received a message to call John Carmen at 1-888-774-2004 saying a was drawn as winner of "cash reward".
said it was from Edison NJ. I did not call back based on internet search of number.

I got the same message also in Greenville sc he said his name was John Carmon

Had to buy a call blocker from www.procallblock.com to get them to stop.

Same with me, Greenville SC, call me by 10...has anyone actually called back?

yeah all those security systems , medical alert, winner calls under all those mystery call centers. Yes, I can see why you're tempted to call back, because law enforcement is in the business of awarding contest prizes, amiright?  LOL

They're still at it, the call to me was a tad more sophisticated, in that it was somewhat localized: "Jasmine Lindsay, Contest Coordinator" from the "Edison Police Department" (Edison is a New Jersey town about 20 minutes from where I live) called to say they'd "pulled your name last night" for a cash giveaway. Sho' 'nuff, they "need" me to call by 9 p.m. tonight.

I'm really really tempted to call back, apologize for not picking up the phone earlier because I figured it just another bill collector harassing me. And add that it's so nice for the Edison Police Department to supply a toll-free number so I don't have to spend money to call them. Eagerly ask how soon I could get the loot, and if they ask for my bank account # have a reasonably sounding fake one ready for them to send it to. Also have a fake SS# to give them. "Verify" the spelling of my name by giving them my name with a few letters changed. Also tell Jasmine she sounds so sweet and I'd love to meet her--could I come by the Edison police station some time after 9 when she gets off so we could go for a drink? Maybe just a beer, because I don't have a lot of money--yet! But I don't have time to play that game. But boy, I am tempted.

Submitted a complaint the National Do Not Call Registry since I am on the registry.  Get lost "John"...

I also got a call yesterday from 888 774 2004 (I'm in the southern Maine area).  John Carmen asked to call him back by 10 pm because I had won an entered drawing. I assumed it was a scam so I looked the number up and found this forum. Let's hope no one falls for this scam.

Same message but needed to call back by 9:00 pm. Don't know how these people get our numbers since I'm on the National do not  call list! Duh!

Also got a call tonight with the same story form a "john Carmen"  Urged that I call back at 888-774-2004 before 9 PM ..he called at 5 pm and left message on phone service I no longer answer but that is in phone book.
Glad to hear that none of you seem to have claimed "my prize" ...LOL    Doesn't it make you curious trying to figure out how these folks make a living ...and just who John Carmen is....( seemed nice enough in the message,. maybe this is just his night job.)

Same message about a prize a few days ago. He called back today and I answered. He had personal information, I did jot supply any, he said it was from marketing promo DirectBUY. My husband and I would both have to attend the pickup. I had to call back with a specific time-he gave me 3 options- and we had won 2 airline tickets, we'd be given a key that might unlock a door and if it worked we won 25k, also if we showed up on time we would get a $200 dining card. All transferable and we needed to bring no money. I just figured it was a solicitation for membership sign-ups. Either way, not doing it.

this guy "John Carmen" called my home last night at 9:00 PM. He said I had won money based upon something that was filled out in the past year and a half. It sounded very sketchy. He said I could call him at 8887742004 but when I dial that number it rings once and there is no answer. "Carmen" didn't even give the name of the company that he was calling for.

Message on machine. this call is for Robert from the prize dept up here in Portland , your entry was drawn last night, you entered a year to a year and a half ago, call me John Carmen  at 888-774-2004 by 10 tonight.

Also got called by the same guy.  On the voicemail (left around 2:00pm), the guy, John Carmen, said that my name was drawn in a cash prize drawing and I should call him back at this 888-774-2004 or a "local" number, 843-485-0302 (located in Georgetown, not too far from Summerville) by 10pm.

Got a call from The Prize Dept.  Said I was the winner of a cash giveaway from an entry form completed in the last year. Asked that I call John Carmen at 843-485-0302 by 10 pm.

Got the same maessage. I tried to call back    no answer.  Should have checked here first, This is a scam

Same number 888 774 2004, also used a local number 1 843 485 0302. Used first name and Greenville SC, where we live. Said to call before 10pm and congratulations.

Got the same message from John Carmen today...as Laura said, he sounded convincing, but still decided to run the number here...glad I did.  We will not be calling back.
