They can't take you to court for a pledge - whether you made one or not - to their so-called "charity".  Report them to the FTC, and your state's Attorney General.

I received a call from 888-775-7789 in November of 2013.  He said he was from the NYS Association of PBAs. I told him I was out of work,  send literature,  and I'd think about it. He sent an invoice! A bill! Stating "per our conversation on February 3, 2014!" 4 months later!
My phone had 800 call blocking on, and the scammer still got through.  Looks like they'll be taking me to court for payment.

So I get this call from a telemarketing scumbag for the RI Police Defense Foundation asking me for a donation and after I tell him, no, no ,no, he acts like I did not say, no, no, no and then asks me for my credit card number to process my donation and says it is so the police can do charity faster so I ask him, why would the police on the one hand tell me not to give my credit card number over the phone and then call me and ask me in the name of their charity to go against everything they have ever said, so I did a little research on the this group and it turns out they hired a professional fundraiser that is going to keep like 90% of the 100 bucks he wanted. So anyway, here it is, they have been sued more times and by more people then probably any group of companies in the history of the world. So yeah, I am going to give these clowns my credit card number. Remember everyone, dont listen to the guy on the phone, listen to what the cops have always told you and dont give in, if you want to give to a cop, find a cop and ask him for the address to the charity directly. Dont make these people rich.

Outreach Calling Inc ? Owner Damian Muziani
Outreach Calling Inc Owner Damian Muziani - http://www.outreachcalling.com/

Data Communications Inc former company of Damian Muziani

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Now the question here is how has Marc Rosenberg been able to work for Damian Muziani for 11 years at a company that has only been incorporated since 2009 and the answer is simple if you look at the photos. The photos are of the office space that Damian Muziani runs his company out of and in the first picture you can clearly see 2 signs with the letters CSI on them and CSI stands for Community Support Inc the company that was sued by over 30 Attorney Generals around the country in 2009 during Operation False Charity. Community Support Inc was also banned from soliciting in the states of Iowa and Oregon from fraudulent practices.

The phone number 856-629-1500 at the bottom of the sign in the second picture leads back to Data Communications Inc, Damian Muziani?s name for his former company.

http://www.powerprofiles.com/profile/00005159 ... -(856)+629-1500

Now, Operation False Charity was the largest charity fraud sweep in the history of the United States by the FTC and pretty much every Attorney General and Secretary of State in the country. The press release by the FTC can be found here. http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/05/charityfraud.shtm Operation False Charity happened in May of 2009 and Damian Muziani changed the name of his company in September of 2009, 4 months later, but kept all the same contracts.

Community Supports involvment in fraudulent fundraising practices can be found  here in Louisiana http://www.ag.state.la.us/Article.aspx?articleID=299&catID=0&printer=1

A quote about CSI from the Louisiana Attorney General regarding the company Damian Muziani through Data Communications Inc was a part of.

?Also, as part of Operation False Charity, Louisiana has joined with 30 other states in enforcing state disclosure laws against a particular professional solicitor/telemarketer, Community Support, Inc. (?CSI?). CSI solicits charitable donations from consumers in nearly every state on behalf of over 35 non-profit organizations.

The multi-state investigation suggests that CSI has engaged in a pattern of consistently violating state disclosure laws in at least 23 ways spread over 300 instances, in every state, for each of its charitable clients. For instance, CSI appears to have often: 1) misrepresented how much of the funds actually go to the charity, 2) misrepresented what would be spent in the call recipient?s local community, 3) harassed call recipients, 4) its callers falsely claimed to be law enforcement or veterans, 5) falsely claimed a person had made a pledge when they had not.?

This list just goes on and on of States that have sued Community Support Inc that Damian Muziani was so proud to display on the stairs leading up to the front door of the office where some of the calls referenced in these lawsuits originated. Outreach Calling is just another incarnation of Community Support Inc and Damian Muziani knows it but would rather forget that he helped cause Community Support Inc to get sued by all these states and the Federal Trade Commission.

Damian Muziani thinks that him and Greg Hertling of Residential Calling Inc, formerly a manager (http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1454&dat=19961215&id=DLdQAAAAIBAJ&sjid=QBUEAAAAIBAJ&pg=2333,5826425) of Civic Development Group (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/03/cdg.shtm sued and forced to turn over 18.8 million fraudulently solicited) employed by David Keezer and Scott and Brian Pasch and currently subcontracting to Damian Muziani and Outreach Calling Inc out in West Virginia  and Mark Gelvan at, and get this name, CSI Outsource 3000 can just simply walk away from all these lawsuits about fraudulent fundraising practices and continue on with business as usual. And business as usual is more fraudulent pitches. This record of past behavior is not something that Marc Rosenberg should be bragging about below.
This lawsuit by the New York Attorney General says that Mark Gelvan, the owner of CSI Outsouce 3000 runs Outreach Calling Inc, http://www.ag.ny.gov/sites/default/files/pres ... 20Complaint.pdf and CSI Outsource 3000 is where Tom Berkenbush and Bill English now work after closing Community Support Inc. It is just one big, according the the lawsuits and AG?s happy family of scams.

According to this article http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/stories/2002/10/07/daily24.html?page=all,

Quote from the article

?The lawsuit against All-Pro contends that the script used by the fundraiser?s employees pretended the callers were New York state troopers and did not identify them as paid solicitors. Donors were allegedly told that the money would be used for anti-drug and alcohol presentations and for an emergency fund that would benefit charitable organizations, widows and orphans of the group?s members and active state troopers.All-Pro staged a total of 30 educational anti-drug programs in only nine New York counties, including Albany and Rensselaer, between 1995 and 2001, according to the Attorney General?s office. The emergency fund did not exist, the lawsuit alleges. The fundraiser ?took cynical advantage of New Yorkers? desire to support law enforcement,? Spitzer said.?And this is on top, for Mark Gelvan, according to the same article ?In 1996 All-Pro agreed to pay $30,000 in a settlement with former Attorney General Dennis Vacco, and agreed to stop deceptive fund raising practices.? So, in a few years, people, and when I say people, I mean our friends at the Attorney General?s offices, the FTC, charities watchdogs and donors have called this group of so called ?professional fundraisers? conartists for almost 20 years and nobody says the same things about you for 20 years and have it not be true.

If that were the case, these people, meaning Damian Muziani, Greg Hertling, Mark Gelvan, Tom Berkenbush, Bill English, David Keezer, Scott Pasch, Brian Pasch would have started suing the AG?s and not one single one of them has every done anything but cower in a corner and take their ?cost of doing business? lawsuits and pay their fines and then go right back to the do the exact same thing they always have done. Lie to donors and commit crimes they get other people blamed for.
So the moral of this story is Damian Muziani, when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas, or in your case, dozens and dozens of lawsuits.

With all due respect to the telemarketers that are just trying to earn their bread and butter, I don't think we should be abused by you just for trying to find out more about the "so-called" organizations calling our home.  Our job is to protect our homes and families - not to just sit on our butts collecting welfare.  I actually have 3 professions and resent the need to look into this type of scam.  I have better things to do with my time, but don't rake me across the coals just for wanting to find out the difference between valid organizations like the National Police Defense Foundation and scam operations like the one that just called me.  I've done your job and it was no fun 28 years ago, can't imagine what it must be like now, but 28 years ago we hardly ever heard about identity theft either.

I used to work for this company.
They are fund raising.
They call for the following charities.
New York State association of PBA police benolevent association
Ny police defense foundation
Association for police officers
Breast and children's cancers in all forms
Firefighters and ems foundation
National Vietnam veterans foundations
Firefighters support foundation

Their money goes to the telemarketing agency they callers get 1% of what they write and 4% of what comes back. They won't tell you that on the phones. The charities get pennies on the dollar most of the funds go to operation costs for their two offices and paying their employees.
They say neighborhood outreach which is Menacola marketing. If you have given to the charities please stop or you can pledge 15 dollars and hang up when ever you are transferred to the verifier

I've gotten two calls from this number--the first was yesterday, November 30, and the second was today, Dec. 1. The caller identified himself as Chris Fitzpatrick calling on behalf of the Connecticut Police Defense Foundation. He claimed that he was raising funds for police officers. After I got this information, I told him I'd call him back. He sounded flabbergasted.

I work for a telemarketing outfit in the midwest that makes calls for a company called "Community Support" - Breast Cancer Relief Fund. I am, as most who work there, a recent parolee. Most everyone who works there are undesirables.  Many recovering addcts (homeless helters) and  fresh ec-cons. It is the last hope stopping plae to get some knid of employment. We also call for various police, veterans, and firefighters, childern's luekemia...and so-called charities. I am not proud of what i do, I do have a conscience. But, it was the only work could obtain with my record. It is a true numbers game...a hunt for the dumb and dumber. It pays $8/hr.. On a good day, I will bring in over $400 dollars in commitments.Of these commitments, a whopping 40% are actually stupid enough to mail a check back to the POBOX when the BILL comes in the mail. It looks like a bill and is very effective - especially with the older seniors...who we prey on especially   If i obtain a certain sales quota for the week, I recieve a bonus. A whole extra 25 cents an hour to make my pay $8.25. If I would have a lousy week or two in a row....they fire you. For them, it is all about what $$$ u brught them within the last hour. If u have a bad start to a shift, not making the money that day....they tell u to go home that day after 2 hours. It does not matter what u made yesturday. There is constant turnover. Most telemarketiers last 3 weeks if that. I have somehow worked there for 6 months. We make 400-500 computer asissted calls a shift. As SOON as one call is terminated, within a second u are talking to the next sucker. It is hell. I work in a dirty office basement with 20-30 other people sitting in folding chairs, calling from folding tables...talking loadly into phones...shoulder to shoulder with the next caller. It is so loud, u can't really hear what the callee your talking to is saying 1/2 the time. The scripts are very misleading, making like you have contributed before or in the case of police fundraising...an officer. It is a fine line as to what u can say or not say. U are ALWAYS monitored...constantly. If u are good and bring them money....u can stretch your script to the limit...but never cross a line with obvious lies. However, u need to learn quickly how to resond to questions from "suckers" to not lie, but quickly give the answer they want to hear. In fact, this is the only real "training" a new telemarketer gets...how to sound and say things, but not to say things....to mislead. This, MISLEADING telemarketing, once your a seasoned telemarker, makes the difference in getting a sale or not from the "sucker". Every call is recorded...for the telemarketers protection. We have to give a rebuttal (offer for a less donation after the "sucker" first says no) NO MATTER what. This makes me feel worse. Often, it is an old lady who responds, "Husband just died, I just got out of the hospital, Daughter losng her house" and with tears she says she can't help this year. Yet, I have to continue to harrass her...asking for at least $15. If I don't do this...I am monitored by supervisors (bald, tattoos, piercings, ex-cons also) who will fire u on the spot. So, u become numb to it. U just do what is expected. This telemarketing company takes about 85% of your donation. Do the math from the numbers i spelled out, you can see they do very well for themselves. (The owner was an original disciple of the infamous MITCH GOLD - king of telemarketing in Orange County - he went to federal prison for 8 years for fraud - google it yourself and see.) Well, the other 15% goes to the charity...but remember...THEY have administration expenses themselves...taking most of the little money left. Believe me,they are  IF YOU GIVE TO ONE CHARITY....EXPECT TO BE CONTINUALLY HARRASSED.
You will go on a "tap" sucker list....with telemarketers calling u for other donations under umbrella charities. Often the same caller ill call u back in 2 -3 months for another related charlity. They will try to run u as dry as possible, calling u for years, acting like u donated last year for THAT cause...even though your deseased spouse from 5 years ago that may have donated for another "scam" charity. It is mindboggling to me. But as they say, "There is a sucker born every day". God....how true is that!
I am soooo sorry for all the thousands iv'e called. I AM practically homeless with what i get paid ... but without this job...I would be.
