This is still SW Credit Systems.

My year long relationship with SW Credit started with someone else having an AT&T account who added me as an authorized user and then somehow took their name off the account. So when it went overdue, my name and address was the only one on the account.  I checked, it isn't even my SSN associated with the account, but SW Credit staff aren't smart enough to understand that... oh well.  I just keep track of their rotating numbers and block them.

These guys call.  They're told the person doesn't live.  They say they'll take the name off.  A couple of months pass, they call again saying there's a new debt from the number...we tell them there's no one by the name they're looking for in the house...the process repeats.  Laws need to be changed.  But, as long as they pay to lobby our lawmakers (pay them off) they get away with their underhanded tactics.

they use alot of numbers to call me. i had an account several years ago with ATT and Uverse. I closed the account paid the last bill, then recieved another bill for my last month. ATT wanted me to pay my last bill twice... I contacted att all was fixed and we were done. the next month i get another bill. Anyways I had already switched over to TW. ALL the equipment for ATT was returned on time, all my bills up to the error were paid in full. Three months of error bills later I finally get someone who would fix this and said they could send a letter of confirmation. No letter ever came. Now two years later it seems somehow they got my cell phone number and call sun up till sundown at different times and with diffrent numbers but never leave a message. Guess what they will never get another dime and when my year runs out on my tracfone cell I am canceling it. and getting a magicjack way cheaper.

Ps   ATT sent me a great deal to resign up with Uverse for Christmas...... they must be kidding

Southwest Credit Systems is a third party debt collection agency. They purchase delinquent/very old debts from and collect on them. A few tips while dealing with Southwest Credit Sytems(or any collection agency):
Always educate yourself on your rights while dealing with a debt collection agency, you have more rights than you actually believe.
www.yourcollectionrights.com
Know whether your rights are abused and what you are subjected to.If in case, how you can further proceed. The collector would be less likely messing with you then.
You do not have to tolerate any collector who is abrasive, so don't put up with it.Check thoroughly if you owe any said debts(If you do you can make payments through money orders, never on phone, and if you pay via settlements, always take proof of the payments, obtain them written, no verval agreements ever). If you doubt them, nothing wrong with asking for debt validation.
They did have lawsuits against them  for violating the FDCPA, So, if you believe they are using unfair tactics or calling the wrong person/calling at work etc., you can hang up-even mutliple times-you have the right. If it goes beyond everything tell them you intend to file a lawsuit against them for harassment.
When you receive 'wrong number'/old debt(over 10 years) calls:
Save the calls recorded by the voice mail or answering machine if they come out multiple times.
Record the calls(inform them)if they are abusive
Check the statute of limitations in your state.
(A cease and desist is a good recourse, but not for debts still owed. The collector HAS to stop all contact, but it would not make the debt go away and they would just pass it on to another agency)
Contact a consumer attorney if nothing else works.

I commiserate with  all the posters above.  I don't know why they are calling.  I do have AT&T and auto pay. Don't even try to get the politicians to do anything--look who sponsors the Big Boys Golf, NFL, Baseball, etc games.  The owners and politicians are in bed together.

Hey...... these people calling from INDIA, CHINA and other countries. where hundred of call centers are running for getting money by fraud from USA and UK citizens... ITS ALL SCAM...

How it runs..........(for debt collection)

It starts when people tries to get loan online, they fill all their personal detail on that sites and problem starts from this point. all your information is sold to collection agencies (call centers) at $4 to $6 / Person, whether you got that loan or not.

SO what actually they (Call Centers) do...

1. They have all of your information includes: your name, social security number, address, employment detail, 2 references and a detail of amount.( which you didn't get)

2. For dialing purpose call center gets USA or UK numbers. they calls through various softwares (like: ICALL). And have various phone numbers.

3.They hire college students or some people and prepare them to communicate with you. (training classes for getting a bit of American accent) and gives them fake names (American).

4. They makes a write up for leaving message to threaten you. like:-

"This message is intended for Mr. john (your name).  john the very second you receive this msg i need you or your retained attorney to call me back. the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. my name is ..........., and i am calling from financial accountability association, my call back no. is 123456789, i am repeating this for you john 123456789, john don't disregard this msg and call me on my number back. if i don't get any call from you or from your attorney........ wish you good luck, bye"

5. If you pick up phones ...they will threaten you by saying... that federal govt or federal legislation  is going to pressing lawsuit against you and your social security number. and try to make you remember that you took a pay day loan and never paid it back... so it is very easy to threaten you by saying that "such company falling lawsuit against you for your unpaid loan".
( you don't know for which loan he/she talking about and try to remember your last 2- 3 loans (which you actually got and never paid)).  At this time you stuck in the situation.

(according to my perception you never know "how many loan you took in last 1 or 2 year"- sorry-- joking)

6. They will tell that you are charged against these allegations:-  1. Theft by deception 2. collateral cheque fraud

7. They will tell u that they have sent various mails to inform you but u never replied and that was the only way to communicate you.

8.They will ask u to write a Apologizing letter that ?your intention was not bad and you never wanted to run away with that money & you want to fix that issue by paying ..... amount.?

how to avoid them...

1. By telling that you have an attorney (Both criminal and bankruptcy). give any number by saying "call to my attorney"... they won't call.
2. By telling that u know : Its ALL SCAM .......... they will hung up.
3. By telling that its not my social security number....... they will never call.
4.By asking for the date of loan taken (online)........ they can't help you in this matter (by which u can come to know about scam)

Don't be afraid.........They won't sue........

If this detail is helpful for you please copy paste this into other pages... don't be selfish.... and save other people from being fool.

I'm so sick of these calls.

When I get one, I answer it and just sit there not making a sound.  Usually, the person hangs up though I've had them eating, talking to a co-worker, singing, etc.

Once they use a number to call, I save in my contacts as Do Not Answer.

There is nothing you can do to prevent them from calling.  They don't give a damn what you say in that they have the wrong person.

It's b***s***.

This organization keeps calling me, my husband, and now family members about something that has been settled with AT&T uverse for over a month.  Asking us for proof that it has been taken care of.  Every thing was settled through another collection agency for AT&T. They worked well with us and helped us send the uverse equipment back to AT&T.  THat agency was Bay city Credit.  They were out of GA and they told us once this was done there would be no further calls from anyone it was a done deal.  We paid them the amount that they said we owed and have receipt showing AT&T was sent back the uverse euipment.  If AT&T cannot find it then they need to track it down not me.  Everything has been settled and good luck contacting AT&T Uverse they have people who do not speak English very well answering the phones. I am tired of them harassing me about this and will be sending a cease and desist order to them immediately.  They have never once left a message for me on my phone number but have left rude and crude messages on my husband's phone number and my family's phone number.  I believe this Southwest to be part of a scam.  I do not trust this organization and will not do any business with them.  They stated they wanted proof it was sent back and I will gladly include a copy of that along with a cease and desist order.

Same here.  They told me they were collecting a past due balance for my AT&T cell phone.... I said that's funny because I'm ON my cell phone.  Pretty sure if it was past due and in collections they would have turned it off!  I have their number blocked now as it is obviously a scam!

AT&T must be one of the worst companies ever. They had my mobile phone account screwed up so badly that it was impossible to fix. They overbilled me tremendously, said I must pay the significant additional amount, then they would reimburse on the following bill - and surprise, they didn't reimburse. I talked to umpteen people trying to correct this, and meanwhile another bill arrived with the same errors. One of the people I talked with said I needed to consolidate all of my AT&T accounts (I had mobile phone and DSL). Well... that turned into a guy appearing at my door to install DSL when I already had DSL. When I sent him away, they cancelled my DSL! What a flipping nightmare! Half the people I talked to showed I had a zero balance, including the AT&T mobile stores. The other half said I showed a balance (which was the second incorrect bill I hadn't paid because they'd never corrected the first incorrect bill and did not show the credit on my account), but I was not allowed to pay through them... and the system they forwarded me to showed I had a zero balance. SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM. I finally walked from my contract with AT&T and got a new phone with another company.

Since then AT&T has sent me bills showing a zero balance along with threats to send my account to collections. Confusing? I'd say so.

I took all of this AT&T mail and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. From that complaint AT&T was able to get my current phone number, and now I am getting constant calls from this number. They have also left messages for my neighbors and a few family members. It just gets more and more awesome.

The moral of my story is stay far from AT&T. This is a horribly unorganized company at every level, and when the proverbial chit hits the fan, they resort to slimeball collection tactics designed to punish the customers trapped by their own internal problems.

I filed a second complaint against AT&T for using my first complaint to garner information on me which they passed on to this collection agency, and I am filing a complaint against this agency as well.
