I actually got a call from 876-867-0018 which is in Jamaca.  When did the federal govt start calling from there?  They called for my Dad and I tried to get more info out of them since he wasn't here.  Finally asked to speak to a supervisor when the first guy just kept blabbing and not getting to the point.  After a few seconds the "supervisor" came on and had just as much trouble speaking English to where I just hung up.

Received a call stating I had won $450,000.00 and all I had to do was verify my address and they would deliver the money to me.   Frank claimed he worked for the Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection Affair. They stated that I had won from a entry submitted on Jan 7, 2009 for Vegas Direct and I was the 2nd place winner.  I told them I would not verify my affress and to give me a number I could call to verify and was given 702-425-9209.  I did not call the number but I did inform the caller that this number  of 888-785-2581 was a number used for con.

I recieved a call this morning stating I had won 450,000  dollars all I had to do was call Purdental Insurance at 1888-622-0004 and ask for Richard Green or Mr Miller. The guy that called me was Marvin Wesson from the Fereral Bureau of Consumer Protection and Affairs. They gave me a file #. So I called and Richard Green called me back and told me it was going to cost 4,000 dollars to send my certified check to me that they had to Insure anything over 200,000 dollars. I told him I do not have money like that. So then he said he could lower the amount to 1125.00 and asked if I could pay for it now. I told him I had to call my boyfriend and I would call him back. Then I looked up the number and found this site. Thank God I did I dont have that kind of money but if this would have not been here I would have found it and I would be out 1125.00. So thanks for taking the time to report to this site.

I too, am receiving calls stating that I have won money from Vegas Direct and should call back number 1-888-725-2581.  This call appeared as Unavailable and he called himself Agent Mike Johnson.  He left the message on my answering machine, he came across very congenial but...once again if it sounds to good to be true..it is.  I didnt even waste my time calling back I just came to this web page.  It told me everything I needed to know.  Please be careful out there especially now that times are hard and money is harder to come by.

Contacted the insurance company Prudential....They want any victims or potential victims to call Prudential Life Insurance Fraud investigation.
973-802-6938. This is a scam.. bigtime and anyone posting that it is for real is actually a "Ringer"..DON"T BUY INTO IT. REPORT IT to the insurance agency they tell you to insure the package with, but
DO NOT CALL 1-888-622-0004. Go to the real insurance agencys web site and look up the real number.
FBCPA is not a valid government agency. There is a close acronym, but it is not the same agency.

I just received one these calls. They called my cell phone. Caller's name was a John Phillips said he was with FBCPA. The call went down just as the Poster, "Mary" stated in her post. The number 1-888-622-0004 does not come up as a valid number on Web search. I will do further research, and will post again, any updates.

Supposedly my husband had won $450,000 but hehad died last year. Robert Goodman said he would see if the check could be changed to my name but he would have to talk to his supervisor and the bank and call me back. He's quite the fast worker--called me back in 2 minutes! He said I should call a Patrick Anderson at Prudential Insurance about buying some insurance since it was an amount of money more than $200,000 and because of identity theft concerns the government required the insurance for delivery. I called my lawyer first, who agreed it was a scam and then called Robert Goodman back and told him I had checked him out and wanted no part of the scam.

I received 2 calls from a number marked Private.  They claimed to be the Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection and Affairs and that had won $450K. I told her that I am on the Do Not Call list and hung up. She called right back and left a vm and said to call 888-785-2581 ext 12304.  I called it and there is no need for an extension since it was the same person answering the phone.  Total scam.

My mother received the same telephone call from a William Williams with the Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection Affairs telling her she had won $500,000 from the Las Vegas Sweepstakes Network and that she needed to call Prudental Insurance and purchase an insurance policy so that the certified check from Bank of America could be delivered via Federal Express.  Fortunately, she called me to check things out.  Man, are these guys good and convincing.  Dropped every familiar name they could.  Obviously I didn't believe it for a minute, but they flat out lie so that a hopeful person may actually believe them.  Mr. Williams actually stated that he worked for the United States Government and that he was right then standing in his office on the 4th. floor of the Federal Building in Washington D.C.  The next phone call was to Roxanne at Prudential Insurance (which I'm sure is not connected to the actual Prudential Insurance that we are all familiar with).  Anyway, the price of the "Insurance" policy was $1,250 to be delivered via moneygram to their offices in East Orange, New Jersey.  When I questioned why I would need to insure the delivery of a package that contained a certified check from Bank of America, she stated that it was Federal Law that an insurance policy be purchased anytime you win more than $200,000.  This is not true.  I completed the call by asking her how she put her head on the pillow at night and went to sleep knowing that it was her job to rip off unsuspecting retirees.  BEWARE AND WARN YOUR FRIENDS.

Caller claimed to be From the Federal Bureau of Consumer Protection Affairs in Washington D.C..  A quick check revealed their is no such agency in Washington.  They claimed I had won 500,000.  I just needed to call Prudential at 18886220004 to acquire insurance.  This is a fraud call.
