The only reason they (CanAm) call me is A) I gave them my phone number because B) I get a life saving prescription from them with much less grief and expense than I would be able to here in the States, and C) to remind me to get a refill. I have absolutely no problem with that, I've found them to be completely ethical and offer great customer service.

Right, they're legit. I had a prescription with them and they call with reminders once in a long while. The message asked me to call back and gave the same number that was on my caller-ID, the 788-1112 number, something the fakers never do.

Actually, the Do Not Call registry does not apply to them because the numbers that they dial are those of current or recent patients that have given their information to them. If you dont need their service simply tell them so and ask that they do not call again. its that simple. By 'slamming the phone down on them' all you are doing is making sure that you get another call in the future. Unless you actually speak with them and ask them to take your number off their list then they will keep trying to call to determine whether you are a patient with them or not. Its sad that some people find their lives so empty that they need someone to be angry at and give a tough time to. especially when all they are doing is their job.

It's correct that this is CanAmerica Global. In my experience this has nothing to do with telemarketing. They are a pharmacy attempting to confirm a repeating prescription order, where there are refills remaining on a submitted rx. Maybe annoying, if you're no longer on the med, the person the med was for has died or something.... but it's a valid call.

The call is from CanAmerica Global, a desperate international pharmacy service that doesn't know what the word respect means but continues to call and since they are Canadian, probably choose to ignore the Do Not Call registry here in the U.S. They can keep calling and when I see their number on my Caller ID I'll keep slamming the phone down on them!
Here are the numbers for them, in case you want to let them know what you think of their calls:
