I just noticed this charge on my tmobile bill.  I hardly use the phone so I asked my husband what it was , he didn't know, but he cancelled it.  We had been charged for 2 months.  I called T-mobile and the rep told me that it was a third party and it had to have been approved with a text message (this is not true my husband never used this service) there was nothing they could do about it the past charges.  I put a block on the phone to avoid this kind of thing in the future, but it is scary.  Your phone is now like a credit card that can rack up fraudulent charges if someone can figure out how to access that.  The website is searchmummy.com  I have to think that the cell phone companies are willing to let this go on because they are reaping some of the benefit.

TOTAL SCAM

I also noticed an unauthorized data download on my t-mobile bill after receiving a telemarketing text message from 35196. Went to searchmummy.com, unsubscribed and sent them an email with the following body: "I am taking this to local, state and federal authorities and will not stop untill this scam stops and you pay back all the unauthorized downloads that go unnoticed by innocent victims.
I am also gonna tell everyone I know that searchmummy.com is involved in illegal activities".
As many of you, I was upset and shocked that these thieves could do this in such a seamless manner by simply sending a text message and me not responding or subscribing. Wondering how may wireless customers will not notice this charge on their bill. It simply sucks. Beware and tell everyone you know about this. I will contact T-mobile in the morning to have this ridiculous charge removed.

I had the charges removed from my cell phone from T-Mobile and they blocked the company from charging me anymore.  I'm sure they could do the same for you.  It is a scam, apparently, that they use when you download anything to your phone or something like that... frustrating!

My mom claimed I had racked up $20 worth of extra charges on the bill (I'm away at college)... curious to figure out what I had spent $20 on I looked on t-mobiles website and saw a $9.99 charge for searchmummy (this premium text service crap). I KNOW I didn't sign up for it, though I had recalled receiving a random text thanking me for signing up and to reply with "stop" to unsubscribe. I replied with stop and received the same message about 5 times. So, needless to say, the messages didn't stop. I did my research and found searchmummy.com... it had a link to type your phone number in to unsubscribe... when I typed in my number it told me that my number was not listed (or some garbage like that) in their system. While continuing my research, I realized it's a huge scam!

T-mobile is totally fine with taking the charges off of the bill, thank god! They didn't put up a hassle or anything and put a block on texts like that. Check your phone bills people! We paid for this for 2 months without realizing it!

Yep, I noticed the scumbags performed an unauthorized charge to my account and quickly called Sprint.  First there is no way I am going to reply to a unwanted solicitation because I certainly don't wish to have my smartphone infected with malware.  I just delete the unwanted test.

Anyway, the nice Sprint person from TX knew what the charge was and immediately credited my account and, without my asking, placed a "telemarketer text block" on both phones.  I paid the adjusted bill (less $9.99 and taxes) and received a text message stating that I was disenrolled from the service I didn't order.

On a side note...Sprint customer service has improved.  I haven't called them in ages (avoid it, plus never really need to), but I called them about a new phone and this specific issue in the past month and the difference is night and day...much, much better.

On a side note, I asked the Sprint rep if the mobile vendors have any legal recourse against these scumbag companies based on the millions of dollars it has to be costing the call centers.  She told me they charge the telemarketing companies every time a customer calls to unscrew their account thanks to their unsolicited, unlawful billing.  I can only image a lot of dummies don't pay attention to their bills or don't know who to call to have the charges reversed.

I'm with verizon and I'm on the phone with them now. It's just a repeat message and music saying 'Your call is very important to us. Please wait for the next avaible agent or press 0 to leave a message.' I been on hold for more then 10 minutes. Its the only way Verizon will remove that 9.99 charge is to file a dispute with them.

I just looked at my bill, and saw that I got a $9.99 charge for this also! I'm so frustrated, and want to call the T-mobile company and see if they could do something about this! They sent me a text message, and I did reply back saying 'stop'. They then replied back with another text message and I ignored it. Next thing you know, I got charged for it. I wonder if T-mobile would take that charge off for me. They did not have my permission to send that anyways, and I shouldn't be putting out money for this crap!

I just found out that this company has billed me four times for their service that I have never used or knew anything about! I called this number to dispute these charges and it puts you on hold for a couple of minutes, then disconnects!
Were you ever able to get your money back?
I am so totally pissed off about this! There are just far too many scammers out there! They must be stopped!
