response to 2up, could it be one made-up using a personal computer? I understand this can be done, wish I was that smart!!!

They called on a Sunday night at 8:38 PM but I did not answer.  Later checked and they did not leave a message.  I get these calls all the time.  So I go into my Time Warner phone service account on the Internet and blocked this number out.  Tomorrow this will use a different number.  They should be found and shot.  They are worthless varmine.

Got another of these calls today.  I keep a list...had 14 such calls in the past month.  I don't answer any calls from a toll-free exchange.  CAN'T AN ATTORNEY GENERAL OR OTHER PUBLIC SERVICE WE PAY FOR STOP THESE CALLS??

Received a call today, as I have repeatedly for months. Usually don't pick up. Sometimes I do, and like today, get a voice saying "Is the lady of the house home?" or something like that. The numbers cannot be blocked because they always change. I believe the organization is a scam outfit calling themselves "Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police" or the like.

I think this is a call from the Census Bureau following up on the ACS survey mailing.  Just ignore these people and pray washington tells them to go home for 9 years till the next real census is required in 2020.

888 790-25323:  I called this no. & it answered as the "AUTISM WINGS FOR HOPE PROGRAM"

8887902523 - Autism WIngs of Hope Foundation continues to call each and every day. Called them back and verified the organization and asked (left a message to be taken off of their call list).

AUTISM WINGS OF HOPE is not a listed charity on GUIDE STAR. So it's not a 501 (c)3.

888-790-2523 is Autism wings of hope program. i called them back.  pushed 1 when asked if I wanted more info on this company.  as soon as recorded voice started I pushed 3.  asks me to enter 10 digit phone I want removed.  I tried it and we will see what happens

received a call from this # 2/11/11 @ 10:48 am.  no message left, caller ID = 800 Service.  A further search of the # on ussearch.com read Oops! 888-790-2523 is not a valid number.  hmmmm!

Have received numerous calls using 888-790-2773 and 888-330-4072.  These numbers have been identified on other blogs as Autism Foundation Wings of Hope Program.  If you research you will find that it has been identified as a SCAM. !!!!!!!!

I just called the number back and they recording says Autism Foundation Wings of Hope Program.  I googled that and it is a legitimate charity.  Looks like they might be looking for people to do mailings for their street to solicit donations.

Constant, daily, relentless calls from both 888-790-2523 and 888-790-2770. The ID says Toll Free Call.  No other identity. The times I have unthinkingly picked up the call, I was always greeted by some sort of charity; a charity fundraising call.  Yeah right.  In the background I hear a guy yelling, "pick it up!!"  and lots of voices and general call center noise. I know that these are bogus fronts for money making and bogus charities.  What % of any donation would actually go a charity?  Little, if any.  I am on do not call since its inception, and these calls persist.  I guess so called "charity" calls are legal.  I think that so called "charity" calls that work for profit should be banned as well.  Bogus. Never, ever, donate! NEVER donate money to a caller.... EVER.

We are on the National Do Not Call List however since being on it, we are getting deluged with calls from 800 numbers. My guess is you give your telephone information to the NDNCL. A note says it may take a few weeks to 30 days to become effective.  They add your name to a list of people on the NDNCL. They sell that list for a hefty charge warning the buyers as of such and such a date they will no longer be able to call people on the list. Therefore, the list buyers hurry to get their calls in before said date. So in reality, the National Do Not Call List is actually a scam to get people to fork up their telephone numbers.  Here are the numbers who have called me just after I signed up on the NDNCL.  888-790-2523, 800-972-4545, 508-656-0191, 877-674-4280, 888-325-8583, 888-330-4072, 888-790-2733, 888-418-9813, 877-591-7964,801-520-1988, 888-418-9813.

There are a lot of clueless people posting messages here, but you've raised the bar.

2 or more calls a day 8:30am - 9:40pm. No one there when I do answer, never a message when I don't.

have noiclue but every day about 2:30 -m three rings nad hang up, pissing me off.

they have more then one number and everyday it's about the same time , three rings nad they hang up, like above I won't donatoe to someone that hasses me like taht.

I receive about 3 a day. It's a pain in the butt. If from a charity group I will never donate to them ,ever!

It's from the Autism Wings of Hope foundation.  They are hoping you will do a neighborhood collection for Autism.  If you call the number back, it will give you some information.

It seems that NCO Financial Collection Co and several other charities are using multiple 800 numbers to try to contact us. Why do we have a "Do Not Call" list and still get several calls a day, every day?
