Receiving harassing phone calls from 888-790-2773

answered and you could hear someone breathing.. then they hung up

I have Time Warner phone service.  When I got a phone call from this number, I went into my online account on the Internet with TW and used the SELECTIVE CALL FORWARDING feature.  I set this 888-790-2773 phone number to be FORWARDED to my state's Attorney General's Legal offices.  I have found that they will keep bumping up their calling number by 1 since they started on me with 888-790-2771

Received another call from these people today 3-19-2011 @ 5PM. They also have used 888-790-2771 and 888-790-2770. Always justthe telephone number w/ no caller ID name. This is a scam call, better off not answering and avoiding a scam....

This 888 phone number just call again today, I'm sick and tired with all the 800, 888 number.  How can I put this to stop?  Thank you.

Hung up after 3 rings before I could pick up. Second call in 2 days.

what a great idea!!  I did the same thing today.  I had a whole list of numbers & have forwarded all of them to the att gen office.  I never realized that TW had all these features that you can control.  Thanks for the suggestion.

They tell me I am full! So what good are they if you cannot use the Do Not Call Listing?

Started  this week calling every morning at around 10AM.  This is MOST harrassing since I work evenings and am sound asleep at 10AM.  Rolls to answering machine and they hang up.  What exactly would be the difference if I wasn't on the DO NOT CALL Registry??  I get these unknown calls from multiple numbers ALL THE TIME!

I totally don't answer these because...

First: Political associations AND Non-Profits DO NOT have to oblige the Do Not Call Registry!! (Which agreeably sucks!)

Second: I subscribe to caller ID and IF the screen reads 'Unknown Caller', '800 Service', '000-000-0000' etc, realize that these are auto dialers just waiting for someone to answer and 10 out of 10 times they're a scam or some org asking for donations. Telling them you're on the DNCR does no good period but picking up the line and constantly hitting ################ will kick your # out of the system (until the next organization gets it at least:-)

I just got a call from this number, I allowed the call to go to voicemail but they never left a message.  I have a feeling this person is associated with the 718-535-3414 number.  They have been calling constantly all week.  I do not plan on answering, but it is just so annoying to be constantly called by someone you do not wish to speak with.

*Never* give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 90% for themselves and sends 10% to the charity. Best to find what charity they are collecting for, research the charity to make sure it's legit, get charity contact info from an independent source, then donate *directly* to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

Thank you to everyone who identified the caller.  There are numerous calls on my Caller ID every evening when I come home.  I'm on the DNC for all the good it does.

Have been getting calls from this number  2-3 times a day for the last 5 days.  Always let go straight to VM.  Never leaves a message.

Open to any suggestions as to how to stop this type of annoying call.

If you call the number back, you can press 1. Then it will give you another message. You can then press 3 and they will remove you from their list. And they will also give you a number you can call to talk to someone. I just pressed 3 and entered my number. If it doesn't stop I will be calling the company. If your going to call someone, least be on the line when a person answers. I was so sick of the dead silence and the early morning calls.

2nd time today this number has called. No one there when I picked up just now.  Also I noticed they called on April 10th and the 9th as well. Shows up as "Unavailable" Left no messages. A-holes! I swear this DNC list does not work.

Have received calls from this number a couple of times a day for several days.  Caller ID always reads "Toll Free Number".  I never pick up and they let it ring about 4 times before hanging up.

I keep getting calls from this number.   It appears on my caller ID as a Toll Free Call.  I never answer and they never leave a message.  I did the Reverse Phone Lookup and it showed that the number is an invalid number.
I just want them to stop calling.  I won't answer and it is just an aggravation.
