Received a call from -unavailable- at 888-795-5585 promising fun filled cruise.  I pressed 1 just to see what would happen.  The operator gave me an operator number and started in on her spiel.  When I asked the name of the company again, she hung up.  Clearly anyone selling something who doesn't want you to know the name of their business is running a scam.

All of these everyone is getting, I would say is harassment. There must be something that can be done about it. I am on do not call, and they call anyway.

Just received a call this afternoon 4:45pm, didn't answer, they left no message. I think it is best to not answer, if it is a number you don't know. I harassed a caller one time and they must have shared my number with numerous telemarkers because I kept getting revenge hang-up calls constantly for about a week....if they don't leave a voicemail it's not important and probably a scam.

If, as others have stated, I wanted to take a cruise, I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT pay the price to anyone who called me on the phone-especially as I am on the DNC list, and they are not supposed to be calling me anyway! What kind of fool would be stupid enough to give their credit card info to some idiot who just called them out of the blue, and, without any proof of who they are? I was born at night, but not LAST NIGHT. And also, I didn't just get off the cattle truck last week! Even if it was legit, it would probably be one of those ships where all the passengers got sick, or it caught fire, or with my luck, I would be pushed overboard, and the FBI would never be able to figure out who did it. So, NO THANKS!!

I don't answer calls from people I don't know and I don't know who these do***e bags are and they left no message.

I'd like to summarize some thing I found from reading the excellent "feb 13" post above:
1) the FCC and FTC are working together
2) They acknowledge that -- if I'm understanding it -- that the Do Not Call list might be circumvented (i.e. avoid punishment) by being offshore, robocalls, etc.  
3) they MUST offer a "don't call me again" option.  

SO this time I pressed 9, but I do not see any way to prevent them calling again, as there is no way to stop offshore calls, short of implementing some "network based" blockage, i.e. the ability for those selling the 800/888 numbers from being sold.

888-795-5585 is still going.  

Reply with any SERIOUS ideas about fighting these people ignoring the do-not-call list.  

[Something like:] "Congratulations, your family has been chosen to win a fun in the sun carribean vacation.  Press 1 ... press 9 to be removed from this list"

I decided NOT to press 1, why waste your energy (though I do feel just in wasting their TIME).

I attempted a "redial" to instruct them to remove me from their call list; however, I got a recorded message that says, "the number you have dialed is not in service". Not a big surprise there either.

I, too, am on the NDNCR, but that does not stop the telemarketing calls. Also,FCC law updates shows that these telemarketers are by law not supposed to be using the robo-dialers (http://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-strengthens-c ... ing-robocalls-0).  And so off to the website of my phone provider to block yet another number from calling my home; which has been an every day event in the last couple of months. May have to find the old telezapper again to see if that will help as well

Answered and got a recorded message my household had won a Royal Carribean Cruise.   Hung up as it sounded like a scam call.

received a call from 888-795-5585, automated message saying that my household was selected to receive a free cruise getaway. Said to press 1 to talk to someone or press 9 to be removed from the list. Pressed 1 cause i like messing with these people and trying to get them to call the cops and file a report so that i can screw these people up. After pressing 1 the automated message just started over so i pressed 9 this time. Even after pressing 9 the automated message started over, so i just hung up. Tried calling the number back and it said that it was disconnected or no longer in service.

I got a call from this number. I let my machine answer and of course no message was left. I am on the do not call list so why did they call?? Please stop calling my house.

We never answer calls from numbers we don't recognize. I figure if it is important and legit they will leave a message. I, like all others, are really tired of these scums calling, changing numbers, etc. I'm sure they fool some people but I think it is a small amount. As much as the government tries it can't come down fast enoug and when they do, the scammers just move to another set of numbers.

I get these calls on my home number, which is registered on the Do Not Call site.  A recorded message tells me that a Royal Caribbean cruise is mine for the taking, and I hung up without listening to the rest.  An attempt to call back to the number produces a recorded message indicating the number is not in service, but we know, of course, that it is.

Caller identified himself as Robert and offered discounted cruises with Royal Caribbean from$199 to $499+

got a call stating I received a cruise. but i had to decide by the end of the phone call if I wanted it. I said it sounded high pressure and If I wanted a cruise I would call Royal Caribbean, the bi*** said OK if you want to spend a lot of money then the bi*** hang up, sounds like a scam

Don't take any calls from this place. I wish that BI*** I just talked to would call me again, I answer the call ask how she got my number and the little under paid skank Hung up the phone.......... Little BI***!!
