Glad I googled this number before calling them back. Jessica Russo tried calling to take "a statement for fraudulent allegations."  My wife took the call and they sounded pretty convincing to her but smelled fishy. Guess I won't be calling them back...

oh man I wish I googled first. They threatened me into a payment but before they could take it I closed the account. Now this number and the related (408) 628-1468 are calling and saying the file will be turned over for litigation if I do not call them back by today. Very hard to serve a validation letter as they hide behind a shell company in Las Vegas. Sent the letter to that address Saturday. We'll see. Thanks for everyone who responds here - you are providing a valuable service. PS I have been contacted by Linda Gramps, Justin Parker, and spoke to a Jessica Russo. I put those names in there for some Google foo for the next unfortunate victim.

Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Remember - no one is given a heads up that they're going to be served - the court process server just shows up, documentation in hand.  If you get more calls, tell them that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls the scammer makes to you.  Also keep copies of any messages left - you can sue the company for multiple violations of the FDCPA (always assuming that you are able to find them, of course).

You can safely expect...absolutely nothing! Process servers do NOT call ahead! EVER! They also do NOT forward messages, for anyone! If someone calls and claims to be a server or a courier, they are frauds!  Always!
When they call again, with their next "final" notice, tell them to put their claim in writing & mail it to you. As per federal law under the FDCPA. When they refuse, they have confirmed that they're frauds. Simple, ain't it?

Process servers do not call ahead.  That would be rather counterproductive, don't you think?  These people sound like scammers who have no legal right to collect any of these alleged debts.  Learn your rights under the FDCPA and demand validation of any supposed debt.  No debt validation letter mailed to your home = you don't owe them a dime.

I got a call from a blocked number yesterday. Said the same thing as y'all are saying about having something that needs to be delivered to me. Have me  888-798-3199 this number and a case number. Called back today and said this is the final notice. And someone would deliver something between 3-5. And to have ID ready. Did anyone have anything delivered or is this a scam? I don't know what to except.

I got a call looking for my exhusband.   I took the message.  They stated they were from Division 1.  wanting to deliver sealed papers.   They said the ex is probably getting sued, they only deal with legal papers.    They called my daughter, and my son.  Probably did a reverse lookup.   Pretty crafty people....

Received a blocked call from bi*** Erin Smith.  Same thing saying I'm being served papers to sign tomorrow along with a case number.  Suck it!

rcvd a call today from this number 888-798-3199 saying that i am going to be served as soon as there is a carrier available. the call me from a private number. call me from my maiden last name.  long time my last name change. my husband said something is not right.  Thank God! for your comments regarding this number. the lady that call said that don't know if they are legal documents or financial document and the envelope is seal and left the number and the ref. to call back to stop the carrier from coming other wise consider my self served.  what legal action can we take?

just received a call from 888-798-3199 and was told to call a Cindy White for documents that she has received with my social security number on them. Then stating like all the previous comments, to be at my residence or work place between the hours of 12 and 5. Also that i need to sign off on them and when i returned the call a Katherine Porter answered.... something doesn't match up. thinking its a scam

This "Cindy White" Called from 888-798-3199 stating that I better have valid id, I have some documents for your to sign with reference number D14325 and that she would see me soon, "I'm starting at your employer first" and I am coming to your residence", They too have also called my mother, financeé and other people. I was told that she is coming to serve me between 12-5 PM it'snow 12:51 still waiting.. Good that I found this site, what a bunch of scam artists

I have kept the messages from this blocked number with the lady stating the same name as she gave you along with a number and file number. My mother in law also has these harrassing messages

Yes, us too... we have our attorney on it..You have not been served or notified, you have been harrassed. Now harrassing my mother in law about us....This  takes the cake. I am not going to be harrassed and am now taking the next step needed in a harrassment charge!

received a call from a blocked number they left a message stating that I was going to be served tomorrow between 12 and 5 at my home and place of employment to have id.  The caller id herself as Linda Grant and left the number 8887983199 to call to clear this matter up and to have them fax over a stop over she inished the call by stating I have no been served.

called both my hulsbamd and I..  (left a message onn machine) said they woulld serve my husband papers at his place of residency and employment between 12-5 and an id would be requited..( yea,  right) Oh and finished the conversation by saying  my husbands name followed with "You have been notified" I think   that she feels it made her sound official...Sad. it sounded soooo stupid... many times someone is collecting on OLD stiuff...Many times these companies by old accounts in bulk and then get what they can....

we just heard from our daughter that she received a phone call from this number and we suspect it is a collection agency looking to collect on a pay day loan(s).   Have any of you defaulted on a loan?

They called me today from a blocked number and the dumb broad left this number for the person to call her back in reference to a case number.  FIRST OF ALL, wrong number ya wench.  SECOND OF ALL, if you are going to leave messages threatening someone with legal action, you need to know you have the right number first.  Amateur!

Someone called me from this number looking for someone I know.  I don't reveal the whereabouts of ANYONE's information without their consent.  Who is this number?

Was it about a check fraud or something dealing with debt? I keep getting calls like this, which are not true!

Got a phone call from a man claiming to have papers for me to sign for and for me to be available from noon to 5 at my place of employment. Left phone# 888-798-3199 for me to call and resolve the issue prior to this. #1 if you are going to call and makes threats don't call from a blocked phone# - shady! #2 when you google a legit phone # the information about that company comes up, there is no info for phone# 888-798-3199.
