Just got a call. If it is SS it should have a caller id shouldn't it.

The same phone number on my caller ID  said NY STATE DIV DI but i also picked up my tax records yesterday from H&R BLOCK maybe the people using the number in 2008 were shut down.I didn't call the number back I always check here first.

We have received 2 calls today from this number. However, rather than answering, I pick up the receiver and immediately hang back up. We have been able to stop most of the scam calls this way. I don't want to reflect negatively upon H&R but we should at least be notified of the possible polling call and they should have the name changed to say H&R Block.

You had the option of telling them not to call. You had to check the box stating you would be willing to do a survey. Just for future knowledge make sure you don't check the box they won't call.

Had my taxes done yesturday at H&R Block, so it is probably them, they told me they would call and email me when my claim had been filed.

i've never done my taxes through HR Block before. Took it to them this year , one week ago. Now I get this call. I agree with the other comments, this is most likely a survey call from HR Block.

Also think this is H&R Block, since i just had my tax return done by them the day before call.  No message

I just got a missed call from this number but did not recognize it so I did some research. Most of you said it's H&R Block survey which makes sense since I just did my tax there yesterday.

Calls twice a day and no one is there when you answer and they leave no message.

It was H&R block wanting me to take a 2 minute, 5 question survey. Answering each of the following questions on a scale from 1-4:

Scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest number
#1) My tax professional asked me to refer my friends and family
#2)  I received a friendly greeting upon entering the office.
#3) My tax professional cared about my tax situation.
#4) My tax professional had the knowledge to do my taxes accurately.
#5) H&R Block good value for my money.
then asked if I wanted to leave a voice comment.

I did get two hangups from this number when the answering machine picked up.  After reading here that it was H & R Block, I called it back.  It is an H & R Block automated survey.  We had our taxes done yesterday.  I love H & R Block and would recommend them but I wish they would reveal their name when they do the survey and not hang up when the answering machine answers.  I won't take the survey until this happens and I would never give out my SS # or even part of it.  I hope they stop calling me...

Well, if it is in fact H&R Block, it would be nice that  they revealed their name on our Caller ID's.  I'm so annoyed with all the calls that say; toll free caller, unknown name, name not found .  If I see a name identification I might answer; but not when it is not posted.

I just love being able to go to this site and find out who the heck is calling. It gives me peace of mind to find out who it is!

Receiving unwanted calls from 888-802-1290. I looked it up on-line and found out the information that the call is potentially S.S. fraud.

I've been getting calls from this number too all day.  It was H & R Block, I just had my taxes done yesterday & it was requesting i take a survey

I got two calls from them today so I Googled the number and found this  page. I did get my taxes done Saturday so I called them back and it was H&R Block doing a survey.

I just received another call from this number.  No message was left.  PLEASE STOP CALLING MY NUMBER!!!

It was H&R Block with the survey mentioned above verbatim. Was quick and easy. Happy to support them, they were helpful and very nice.

Also, never did they ask for any personal information or anything. It was a quick survey to the questions and that was it.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  My cell number is already registered on the Do Not Call list.

This was an H&R Block automated survey.  I had just picked up my return from them yesterday, so maybe it's  triggered when you complete a transaction with them.

I did my taxes yesterday, so it makes sense that this is H&R Block. I haven't answered it yet, and probably won't. I hate surveys. Though they did do a good job.

Recieved a call from this number this morning.  Didn't answer it, but went to this page to get comments on the number.  I then called the number back.  This is an automated survey from H&R Block.  Since I just had my taxes done by them yesterday and was asked if I would take a survey if called, I took the survey.  At NO time did they ever ask for any personal information.  They asked 7 questions pertaining to the service I recieved, if I would recommend others to use their service, and if I would use them in the future.  This is a very legit call.  Thanks.

I just filled my taxes with h&r block so thats most likely who this nukber is. My guess is asking your ss digits to confirm your identity, but it harmless to give them only the last four anyway.
