I called them and a lady answered then a man got on the phone and I asked if this was bell something and theyhe said I had the wrong number

I got a call from this number today; I just went through another scammers calls, and thought i was free of them. Never had calls like this before; is this world getting worse?? I don't want a phone anymore. Thinking of an alternative....The call was strange, it was a call room with many people, because of the 888 prefix I thought it could be legitimate.

I never pick up if I don't recognize a number on the call display. If I am unsure I let the machine take a message and check it later. But I am fed up with non stop calls from telemarketers and people like these scan artists. This is as bad as people coming to my door and disturbing me while they try to sell something!

got a call from heavy accent male. Claiming he was calling from Richmond BC for Bell Mobility. Too much details to try to look legitimate on my account.
I asked him to remove me from his call list, but he pursued his spiel. A legitimate business would just say << yes sir, I will do this immediately >> instead of trying to suck me in.

Received a call from a person of unknow origin, who couldn't be understood, who would not identify himself, nor identify which country he was calling from when asked.

This number called a few times today but never left a message.  When I called the number back, I got a very long recording telling me that operator eight million nine hundred and ten thousand nine hundred sixty-one (it was a much larger number at least 20 characters) was unavailable and to leave a message.  I don't understand.  I put our numbers on the do not call registry and it seems we are getting more and more calls.

This scam operation called me too, offering me a phone with Bell Mobility (who I'm already a customer of, which was the first tip that something was wrong). It was a woman on the other end who spoke poor English and kept saying "hello?" as if they had a bad line.

yep, Sandra - same here: the caller id is "Bell Canada". Just got the call 5:15PM local. Answered it, but no one said anything on the other end. i could hear  voices in the background but nothing else. Will be reporting this up line.

I have asked them several times not to call, but they just keep calling, even though I'm on the national do not call list

So sorry to hear you got ripped off. They got my SIN too but I caught on in time, because he was stupid and asked how to spell aliant lol. I got a hold of Equifax and Trans Union before they can do anything to my credit. They also told me to call Phonebusters. They had the nerve to actually call me back the next day, then 3 more times, last time he called I told him off.Then nothing for like 6 months and today he called again, it was the exact same guy.

they are a criminal entity.... calling the pope does nothing!  all you can do is record your message and get ahold of Phone Busters, and the RCMP Commercial Fraud division.  This is the very same guy who ripped me off last year and I got charged with a fraud for a check he sent to me.... I am positive that this isi the very same guy''' he gets you r numbers from ads that you post on line.  He either tries to get yo to sell him something where he says he will pay by check, which turns out to be a fake one that he buys on line from a check making company.  he then says he would like to send a little exstra like 50 dollars to covr the shipping.. you agree, he wants your house address, no P.O Box number, and a phone number... then when he sends the check it tuens out to be way in excess of what he offered to pay you, to which he asks for you to send the extra to him, or soem one else in the U.S, but the address he gives you for the states is Non, legitimate... whikle the person while the person picking it up is a victim like you (or they are in on it and just say that they are a victim)... but either way they wind up with yourt money, because you have to pay for any shortages on any chack you run through your acvcount and if you do not have enough money to cover the check, YOU get charged with the fraud... althoughm you did nothing illegal or wrong, you are still going to go to jail!.. I am going through tis right now!

I am such a vfictim that the police refuse to investigate and have charged me for a fraud that they had done and sent me and my room mate to jail because we tried to sell a guitar over the net and this MARK ADAMS sent me an email asking me to sell it to him..... now I get calls from this number and it is hi, on the other dend.   MARK, is not his real name!  he is nigerian, living in Canada, stealing from every one that he can, and we are the ones who go to jail if we cash a check that he sends, because the Calgary Police And the Crown Office Refuse to Investigate such a minor offense!  but if he does this to just a thousand peole he hets 4.5 million.... but it is only 1 thousand counts of fraud inder 5 thousand and when he gets caught he does not get deported, he gets a slap on the wrist and remails in Canada... Mark, who ever you are, I will find you and when I do, your 4,5 million that you stole aint going to save your a**.  He ruined my life, the police refuse to act reasonable on this and for that I am left with no other option than to be the judge jury and what ever come after!!

Do not give them any information... record the call anf try to keep him on the line as long as you can while asking them questions abiout where rthey are.  ask them the weather, what is the teperature?  does he have a web site, get him to set one up,  if he looks out his window what does he see, ask him to put himself on the web cam to show you his face, stuff like that, but do not try to be threatening,  Play along and just say that you are trying to make sure that they are legitimate and if he is legitimate then he should not have any issues with showing his face.  I have been told by the Calgary Police that this guy is in Nigeria, but they are not sure.  Ipersonall;y think he is in Canada and operates here, because he is pretty informed about our laws, our education institutions.  Put this guy in jail so I can get to him... he really hurt me for nothing other than to steal from me and I am the one who get s sent to jail... the police are lazy, so justice must be meted out by me... for what he has done to me and my room mate!  just get him here, and I will do the rest!!  Mark I am waiting!  COME you coward

WHAT ARE WE PAYING THE POLICE FOR?

Firstly, they call you saying that they are calling on behalf of BELL mobility... They are not!!!  They are a Nigerian scam center...  they had tilted thier hand the last time they called me.  You see I tried to sell an item over Kijiji and the purchaser sent a check.  They check looked and felt legitimate.  It even had the water marks proving it was a real check.  But it turned out to be a check thet they had printed up legitimately, but with bogus account numbers and a bogus company logo.  My check was drawn on the bank of Nova Scotia and had a logo saying it was from the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.  The story the guy told me was that he was outfitting a music room for inner city children and had a grant from a university to do this.  He offered me $450 for the guitat. amp, and pedals.  I agreed to let it go for less than I was asking, only because he was doing good in the community (I thought!).. he also said he would like to add $50 dollars to cover shipping costs, which I was to use to pay for the shipping cost when the Courier came to pick up the item.  I agreed and had the check issued into my room mates name, because she had a bank account and all I had dealt with was check cashing places.  Once I recieved the check it was for $4500.00.  My eyes popped!  I thought that they had made a typo, so I got on the phone to try to verify the check.  I called the bank of Nova Scotia and asked them to see if this was a legitimate check and that they were going to honor it.... After 45 minutes on the phone and talking to almost every person at teh bank of Nova Scotia, here in Calgary, I was told that there was absolutely no way for them to verify the check with out sending the check to the bank it was drawn on.  I was even told that after 10 business days (2 weeks) if the check did not come back as NSF, they would release the money, but if it did come back after the 2 weeks as NSF (15 or 16 days or even later) that I would be on the hook for the entire amount.  I did not want the guy, who was buying the Guitar to cancel the check... thinking I had ripped him off because I was not sending him anything until I verified that the check was good and legitimate.  (I had heard too many stories about people being victims of fraud)  But I also did not want to be ripped of myself.  The lady at the bank said to me " Sir, if you want to make sure that the check is good, then take it to money mart, they have access to information and other security features that they (the bank) did not have.... I wanted to sell the guitar, as it had been on Kijiji for several months and I did not want to blow this deal if it was legitimate, so I figured I would take it Money-Mart, and cash it, if it was good, pay there fees, take my money out of what was left and send the remainder back to the bank it was drawn on.  There was no way I was going to send the money to any one else,  but who's name was issuing me the check,.. So off to the Check cashing place I go, with my room mate... who just happenned to be laid off of her jopb that very morning.  after about 45 minutes, of waiting at money mart,  I figured there was something wrong with the check.  The Police show up and ask me "Do you know why I am placing you under arrest?"  I reply exactly this sentence..."  Let me see.  I am in a check cashing place, trying to cash a check that I recieved as payment for stuff I am selling over the net... Hmmm the logical guess would be that there is something wrong with the check?" to which he states to me "Oh!, You admit that you know that the check is fraudulent then!?"..

I tell himthat I was just guessing and that it isnot Rocket science to figure out the answer to his previous question.  None the less, I and my friend were both charged with Fraud, uttering forged documents and theft under $5000.oo.  I told tghe police officer everything about how I got the check, offerring the envelope it came in, as it was still at my apartment, and was hand delivered by a Courier Company.  The Police said to me that they were not interested in investigating this because it was a MINOR offense, meaning that this crime is considered by the Calgary Police Services and the Crown Prosecution Office, to be of no significant importance and there fore doe not warrant a real investigation because they would probably never be able to charge anyone in this country with a crime, so they would just charge us and RUIN my room mated life as an accountant, because they felt that the crime was not worth invewstigating and putting in a lot of man hours to wind up with nothing.  All they had to do was go to our apartment and look on the lap-top, and take the envelope and talk to the courier company.  I found out more in 15 minutes than they di in the 4 hours they kept us down at the check cashing place before releasing us on promise to appear tickets for court and finger printing. They did not care and did no investigation other than to charge me and my friend for this crime, and in essence ruined her life (She was an accountant).  You see, in Canada there is no finding of "Innocent"  You are either Guilty of a crime or Not Guilty and Not Guilty only means that there was not enopugh evidence to convict you.  To everyone (including you reading this) when we see that someone was charged with a crime we automatically think well they must have doem something wrong, or they would not have been charged by the police.  This thinking is right in line with our justice system because of the way it is set up.  So when my friend goes to apply for a job and they do a background check, it will show up that she had been charged for fraud, theft under 5 Thousand and utterring a forged document... none of these by them selves is good, but all three and they are strikes against her character, undeserving of such a lable.. She is the most innocent one in this scenario.  Even being found not guilty is in no way an exoneration of never having committed any crime!

Since this has happenned last July of 2010, we hadve been getting these calls from this number saying that they are representativews of a BELL MOBILITY and want our personal information such as Social Security Number and other credit information, and for supplying this they said I am authorized to recieve a free cellular phone from them, but they have to verify who I am.... Firstly, my credit is s***!!  I can't get credit from any cellular company and bell had already told me that thney would not touch me with a ten foot pole, yet this guy keeps telling me that I am already apprived with Bell Mobility to recieve a new cellular phone!?  Sure I am (hahaha)  Today he calls me and asks for me using my first name and my room mates last name...  That is where he let the cat out of the bag.  You see, these are the facts number 1) our land line is in my name.  
2) Bell mobility has no interest in doing business with me..
3) My room mate's only link with me is with this check thing that happenned last summer
4) they are the very same peole who issued the fraudulent check to us, and are trying to scam us still.

DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION AND RECORD ALL TELEPHONE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER.  THEN CALL THE RCMP, EMAIL PHONE BUSTERS, AND TELL THEM THE SITUATION WITH THIS TELEPHONE NUMBER.  THEY (THE POLICE) WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO PUT THESE GUYS OUT OF BUSINESS IF WE PUT ENOUGH PRESSURE ON THEM TO ACT.  OR YOU WILL BE A VICTIM LIKE ME AND MY ROOM MATE, LOOKING AT JAIL TIME OR WORSE!  THE WORSE IS THAT THESE GUYS GET YOUR INFORMATION AND EMPTY YOUR LIFE'S SAVINGS, YOUR RETIREMENT MONEY, YOUR RRSP'S ARE EMPTIED AND YOUR CHILDREN'S SAVING ARE STOLEN, AND ON TOP OF IT ALL YOU WIND UP GETTING A CRIMINAL CONVICTION FOR SOME THING THAT YOU DID NOT DO... LIKE ME AND MY ROOM MATE ARE GETTING!!!

These folks called me tonight. I just listen and don't say anything....she said hello at least 15 times ... like they know they have bad connections??...then she asked for me by name...yet my name is NOT in the phone book...so how do they know my name??... I called back and they answered but I did not understand them....maybe from India?? or Montreal??? So much for being on the Canadian do not call list!!  I usually answer 888 and 800 calls and if I don't I check on this site to see who they may be!! When I find out that they are a pain in the a**....I then put the number into our hand set as DO NOT ANSWER...then when they call again....we do just that....what a bunch of idiots!!!

I DON'T FIND THIS FUNNY AT ALL, IF THEY CALL AGAIN THEY WILL RECEIVE A CASLL FROM MY LAWYER.

I received 4 calls from 1-800-804-8103 on Jan. 14, 2011.  I did not answer because I didn't recognize the number via caller ID/call display.

every day multiple times a day they call saying they are from Bell Aliant, and every time they call we tell them to remove us from their call list and they just hang up. We called bell directly and they said they have no idea where this number is calling from, its not them.

Like clockwork, every day right around 5:00 pm this number checks in to my home numnber in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Now I just let it ring as I have caller ID. Maybe they'll get the message.

Above number called to offer Belel Mobility service, and yelled at me when I said no.  I hung up.  I could not understand most of what he said (he said his name was Mark).
