i used to work at the location in landrum. realized it had to be scams. we would do packages and the paperwork that people wanted to cancel( receive back the thousands they spent) would go directly to mike. whom resides in hilton head. never saw him take iniative to resolve peoples problems. and last i heard they shut down. last i heard they are opening or have opened down in myrtle beach. seeing the thousands of dollars that people would spend over a presentation had me surprised. and plenty of people complained and wanted to cancel. so scam it must be.

If this is such a wonderful service, why won't they return my money. I followed the law and their contract stating if I wanted to cancel to send them a letter in 3 days, I did and they acknowledged that they received it in time. BUT they still won't return my money which they had 10 days according to the law to return it to me.  That was Feb 3, 2012 and I am still waiting.  But I am sending notices to everyone I can find and posting it to everyone to watch for this scam! Because that is exactly what it is to most people!

The address I have on  my contract reads: International Vacation Services Customer Services Office P.O. Box 100 Aynor, SC  29511   Phone number 866-685-7741.  I have another number for a Gayle Smith, VP of Operations 864-990-4312.   I have not been able to get an answer from them since the end of March. I cancelled in the 3 day period on Feb.3rd.  To date I have not received my refund. I have contacted the BBB in South Carolina, they wrote and got no response. I contact the State of Ohio Attorney Generals office and to date they have not received an answer either.  They made over a $1,000 on us. They kept telling me they would return it, but it has been only talk.

Here is the information on my contract!  International Vacation Services  Customer Service Office  P.O. Box 100  Aynor, SC  29511  Phone numbers I have: 866-685-7741 for customer service rep and the direct line to Gayle Smith, VP of Operations is 864-990-4312.  But know they will not help you in any way.  I have been calling since Feb 8, 2012 to have them return my deposit of over $1,000 and they gave me the run around until the end of March.  Now they won't take my calls, it goes automatically to voice mail.  I decided within the 3 days buyers remorse and wrote cancelling my contract.  According to the law, they have 10 days to refund your money. I am still waiting! If you have been scammed already do all that you can to let everyone know to stay away from them. If not don't get in to this trap!

After you purchase you have 3 days to notify them in writing to cancel and they have 10 days to return your money. We had buyers remose and sent out the letter to cancel. They received the cancellation letter Feb.3,2012.  We have still not received our money. I went to the BBB and the State of Ohio Attorney Generals office. To date we have not received our money. They used to talk to me and for 2 months told me they were sending the money, but NOT.  Now they won't take my calls at all. I leave voicemails all the time, but they won't call back.  They do not care at all about the public and how many people they scam.  My best advise is spread the word, go to where they do the presentations and tell everyone going in about this scam. Spread the word as much as you possibly can so others don't loose their money.

Hi ........did you get the answer you were looking for?  I want to post that we attended a presentation of IVS in NEW YORK state and signed up for the service. That night we viewed so many negative comments on the organization, we decided to cancel our membership in accordance with the copy of the contract we were given. We did that by certified mail.  Also, we called our credit card company that night and put a dispute on the charge for membership.  We eventually received a response from the Jakoby Law Firm in Colorado , thru our credit card company, that we were NOT due a refund because we had NOT contracted them.  The Jakoby Law Firm included another document we had signed, but were not given a copy of, which said we had to contact the Jakoby Law Firm in order to get a REFUND.
I sent complaints out to south carolina Consumer Protection Agency (the person who handled the complaint said we  had to file the complaint in the state in which the contract was signed)  So, she fwded it to NY State.  I also sent certified letters directly to trhe Jakoby Law Firm and to IVS , notifying
them that they had 10 business days in which to respond.  The Jakoby Law Firm responded by crediing\ our credi card with amt rendered.  I do not know which complaint or letter stimulated the refund.  All  I know is that I filed the complaints in every state tha could possibly have jurisdiction.  The state that has the legal clout is the one in which the contract was signed.  Also I had kept detailed, chronological notes of all that had occurred since the date of signing the contract.   Good luck if you signed up with the iVS and want to cancel.

Did you ever manage to get out of the agreement? And how did you do it? It seems to me that if you don't cancel within the 3 days you can't even cancel the yearly bill.

I made the same mistake you did and attended an International Vacation Services presentation in Illinois.  Now I am trying to fight this scam through the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs. Do you have an address for International Vacation Services besides their fake address on Rutherford Rd in Landrum, SC? I need your help!

We went to the presentation 1/17/12.  Sounded good but not ready to committ.  After seeing these posts very glad we did nothing.  If they had given us 48 hours they may have earned out buisness, however, as they refused to give us any written info or time to make a informed choice, we did nothing.  We did receive 2 vouchers for a cruise, and 2 airline tickets, however, they also have stipulations on when you can travel ect. Now that I see these posts, am happy with our decision.

I went to this presentation and became a member about 2 months ago. I just got back from my first trip and had an excellent time. I saved over 40% on my trip to vegas. This is a great product if you get the same offer do not pass up on this. It is an EXCELLENT DEAL.

Took the bait to Ithaca,NY meeting, but did not buy. Had the presentation and pitch.  Got out with certificates like others.  This time, 7 d cruise and another RT airfare, both for 2 persons.  Similar entry fees and activations.  $99.00, $75.00, $20.00.  Read the fine print at home.  Flight reservations require 2 separate dates to attempt to fly,  "_45 days apart_"_The cruise may be up to 7 days or not and might be only  3days.    Low volume  ports were  excluded and or certain ships were excluded unless a surcharge is paid.  (? amt $ extra!)  Question I thought was why were we looking a 5 star resorts and beach vactions and we were invited to a low end hotel off the higway near a stripmall?  Yes even in upstae NY there are nicer settings in the winter. My read is I don't think anyone will fly and cruise free. Certainly not in one trip.    Oh.. the black-out dates....no fly within 7 days of holiday or with conventions in town or any peak season ( what ever that is determined)  The cruise dates are only available Sept to Dec.  Can you say hurricane season in the Carribean.  Oh one last thing, ports listed on 7 day cruise are Freeport and St Thomas from ANY major port.  Anyone taken a cruise lately?  Most ships sail port to port daily to get you out of the free dinning room.  I have never seem a 2 port trip over 7 nights since 1970, and I sailed from NYC. (extra surcharge applies)  I think I'll keep my $200.00 odd money at home.  Nothing is free..  They also showed me a Charlotte BBB grade of "B".  When asked why not "A+"  they said they were not listed in Charlotte long enough and A does not mean anything.?   Some here have reported F for this travel club or their marketing partner. I asked to see the contract and provisions of the 17% loan program.  I could see them only in a private room away from the group.  I did get 3 cups of free coffee.  I say watch-out.

We did the presentation but did not get suckered in.  Still I left kicking myself for the questions that I did not ask.  We were told that we could only buy today the "VIP" package but could buy the "Silver" package at any time...yet when we left there was absolutely no sales or promotional material provided so if one made that decision, the purchase could be made.  I found that very odd.
We went in knowing that we were going to be sold to...and we crearly went only for the airline tickets and cruise that we were promised.  But they are asking for "deposits" of $75 and $99 for these two items.  Has anyone actually received their goodies and if so, how restrictive were the choices?

To bridget323, I beg your pardon, but when I go to Casa Ole' and they offer me a "complementary" sherbet after my meal, it is NOT added to the cost of my meal!  It is FREE!  Someone has brainwashed you lady!  In the real world "complementary" is something that is paired with some action or thing.  Generally, "Grand Openings" give "complementary" gifts to those who attend, not just to those who buy.  Get Real!

Actually just found out that they have lawsuites against the owner Michael Mitchell and that he does not own the part that books the trips. So they have been in Florida, they have been all over the place under a variety of names and continue to take innocent peoples money.

I paid $3500 and after I was "approved" and could visit their website I knew I could do better.  I hadn't used any of their services so I sent a letter to request a refund.  They said no "read the fine print" (3 days to cancel) . It took over 3 days before I was ok'd to access their website and decide it wasn't a good deal.  If they are so legitimate, why not refund my money?

Me too, and after talking to two representatives from last night's presentation I know now, it is not good.
They were very rude, when I told them about the posts, and one said he would take it off my credit card and it has not been done.  I have these two numbers if you want them.
