I got a call from this number at about 8am and there was no number on the call display. I do know that I owe MBNA for borrowed funds, so I think that this could have been a debt collector. When the caller left a message on my cell phone, they were suspiciously slow in leaving the number as if unfamiliar with the number I was to call back to. Also, it seemed like they might have been reading it off a reference they had. Therefore, I am am quite sure my debt was sold off to these collectors and they were trying have me pay a portion of the debt I owe.

I have received 9 calls from this number over an eight day period. The last few calls stated it was extremely important to return the call to "avoid having to escalate the situation to the next level". Not sure what ?the situation? is as they don?t mention it, so have to assume there isn?t one. Again, no specifics were given as to who was calling and on whose behalf.(other than the mumbled MBNA bank stated by the caller) There was no mention of why they were calling or what the reason for the call was. There was a comment on the voice mail that it was not a sales or marketing call. A call placed to the number after hours does not allude to the who or why of the call or caller. A previous poster mentioned this is Canada's collection agency. That being said, I have no debt other than a mortgage so If this was a legitimate call or concern, a message detailing the issue or complaint with a call back number that allows for voice mail would be expected, neither was available. Do people really fall for this? If this is truly a legitimate call from a reputable company all I can think to ask is, as Dr. Phil would say, ?hows that working for you??

just got a call from here. message says calling from MBNA bank with an important financial matter to discuss.  o info on the important financial matter, so, no call back. scam
