I received the same text from 888-811-8461 last night and don't even have a Credit Union account. When I read it I know that it was a scam, I've been working in the bank for almost 10 years and the bank won't send such kind of text.

I work for a debit card company and also received this text- it is called Vishing and is typically used to steal debit / credit card numbers or other information used in identity theft schemes from individuals- some other forms are phishing-
I have seen peoples card accounts zero'd out in a matter of minutes once the -card information is inputted- if you have keyed in the number - call your card issuer and have them cancel card immediately - better to be safe then sorry- a replacement card is less expensive- to replace then the loss of funds- you can find a contact phone number on the back of your card- that is why the issuer prints it on your card- so you will know who you are talking to- hope this helps ... read reg e- know your rights if your acct is wiped out --

This is a scam! They immediately ask for your credit or debit card number. Its scary because it looks like a real text message from T-Mobile.

Just got the same message from tmobile. I'm surprised that tmobile hasn't done anything to prevent this considering all the people this has happened to.

Just got the same message. Didn't call anything; checked at T-Mobile first (discussion boards) and didn't find anything. Then tried Google and landed here. Message deleted now.

I got a text as well. It said my credit union account was frozen. I called and it wanted my card number right away. I just hung up. It said it was gonna ask more questions, wouldn't be surprised if it would have asked for my password.
