TOLL FREE CALL from 888-816-0054 on 1-11-08
catch and prosecute
Mike 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
I've received calls from 800-784-0119, 877-286-0028, 888-816-0054, 800-416-0058 and 866-856-0111.
I've spoken with a friend of mine on the IMPD.
Apparently, organizations like the "State Troopers Association" and the "Police Protection Association" are loosely affiliated with any real police organizations...and that's "loosely", at best.
My recommendation is that if you really do want to contribute, try PAL (Police Athletic League), the PBA or the FOP.

for the past three weeks these people have called us at least three timmes a day and we never answer. Does anybody know who the heck these people are? And do any of you know how to get them to stop calling?

8:05 am on a rainy Saturday morning to my mobile number!
Liz 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
Been getting calls from all 4 of these idiots' phone numbers, and every time I've tried to answer it, the system has hung up on me. I will be calling the real office on Monday to request to be removed from their list.
This is pathetic and infuriating! Calling us all hours of the day, every day of the week, even Sundays!
ClutziPoo 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
They called this morning, when i said hello, it was silent as if no one was there. So I hung up. Called the number back and it rang busy. They have called several times now. As far as I'm concerned if I want your business I'll call you, other wise don't waste mine and your time calling b/c i'm not interested.

I understand its the Indian State Troopers, but if so, shouldn't caller ID reflect that. Since not, I would never donate to caller ID 'TOLL FREE CALL'
Portage 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
888-816-0054 caller ID blocked. Went to voice mail no message left. Have questioned "Trooper's Association" in the past. They say they are not troopers but a company hired by the troopers association to solicit contributions for their "Welfare Fund". I was told Troopers do not solicit contributions by phone. Anyone know who they really are?

" DO NOT, and i repeat DO NOT hang up on the caller, let the answering machine get it if you're not home, and do not cuss and then hang up! This will assure that you will get called back! They do not call on Sunday or after 9pm!
p.s. raising hell about these calls WILL NOT shut the organization down!"
Well, that's pretty darned 'professional' of you/them. Make them aware you don't want to be bothered by them and 'assure that you will get called back.' Great plan there, rocky!
Here's a tidbit for YOU - continuing to call me after I tell you to stop will ASSURE YOU of never getting even 1 cent from me.

Calls come in on my common line, then they hangup. If I can't talk to someone I can't find out the number called so it can be removed. All my numbers are on state and federal do-not-call listings.
Beth Lakin 2009-04-17 00:16:49 Unknown
I continue to see this number on my caller id.
Dave 2009-02-19 16:36:51 Unknown
Aren't you glad you weren't being harrassed?

For weeks and weeks, I have been trying to AVOID answering these insufferable toll free calls. One day last week my 8-yr. old actually answered the phone, so I just hung up on them. I am receiving the call from 5 different numbers. Each number googles to a site like this one where multiple posts say it's the Indiana Troopers Assn. Per info from a 20-Sept-07 post, ***I called 1-800-671-9851 (main office) and asked to be removed from the calling list.*** I also verified that it would remove me from ALL the numbers from which they call. We'll see. But since I have been getting about 5 phone calls a week for the last 3-4 weeks (at least!), I am VERY much looking forward to my phone to STOP RINGING! If the calls continue, I will figure out who else I can contact about it. All the calls, all the different CID numbers - it's ridiculous! I'm a homeschooling mom of 4 and I have a right to NOT answer my phone AND not be bothered incessantly! The numbers that have called me: 888-816-0054, 800-416-0058, 877-286-0028, 866-856-0111, 801-616-4699

correct...
Dave 2009-01-22 21:57:34 Unknown
They may be annoying, but "obviously that is not harassment!!!" Right.
Ruthie 2009-01-22 20:39:44 Non-profit Organization
They call and call they are very annoying. I have read that they are the Troopers Assoc. If they are asking for a donation, after all of this they aren't likely to get one, are they?
ROBERT JOHNSON 2009-01-16 01:33:27 Unknown
we get 20 to 30 complaints each year out of the 10's of thousands contacted! Obviously that is not harassment!!! Just say "no thanks"! That's all there is to it!
Dave 2009-01-15 21:19:22 Unknown
I am an Indiana citizen. If you need public support, QUIT HARRASSING THEM!
draq wraith 2009-01-14 18:58:52 Unknown
unfortunately there is a charity clause in the federal and state do not call list. this BS clause is what makes the law ineffectual.
ROBERT JOHNSON 2008-12-31 04:51:44 Unknown
I am an Indiana State Trooper, and the calls that are made to residents for fundraising are essential to the the great programs that we sponser! We are exempt from the "DO NOT CALL LIST" because we are a non-profit organization that needs the publics suport! Best advice is to politely say, "no thank you" or "please take me off you're list"! DO NOT, and i repeat DO NOT hang up on the caller, let the answering machine get it if you're not home, and do not cuss and then hang up! This will assure that you will get called back! They do not call on Sunday or after 9pm!
p.s. raising hell about these calls WILL NOT shut the organization down!
Rahn P 2008-12-13 20:27:06 Unknown

Doh! 2008-12-11 16:54:28 Unknown
As many of you have done, I searched the number online and am now reporting the details on a list. I also visited the website of the "Office of the Indiana Attorney General - Telephone Privacy Division" http://www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/consumer/telephone/file_complaint.html
I also made a call to 1-800-671-9851 and spoke to a very polite woman named Debbie. I stated I was receiving multiple calls and wish for my phone number to be removed from any lists. She apoligized and stated she'll do just that. I do hope thes calls from the Indiana Trooper's Association & Police Protection Association will stop calling.
kim 2008-11-20 21:31:02 Unknown
quit calling!
JenE 2008-10-13 22:52:11 Unknown
Calls every 30 minutes for the past two weeks from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Either no one answers or a teenage-sounding boy just says "Hello?". I am on national and state Do Not Call lists. So very irritating.
ladybug46706 2008-10-02 17:49:16 Unknown
call numerous times,no one will talk or leave message.
bothered 2008-09-18 12:59:10 Unknown
repeat calls no reply
not giving my name 2008-09-13 16:05:19 Unknown
Here is the real message.....if I get one more call from these people, I will file an injunction against them immediately and shut their entire operation down. That's the only way these people will get the message and stop invading my privacy.
Suggest everyone do the same thing....

thanks to those that posted the ITA number. I called and they will remove my number promptly. Hope this works.
Xander'sMom 2008-07-31 00:52:25 Unknown
Thank you, I will try that tomorrow.

I have been receiving these as well. I just called the number listed above (1-800-671-9851) and the person who picked up confirmed that they have been having recent issues with their call center(s) making automated calls. Apparently, there's a software issue whereby the automated system calls people with either no one on the line to state why they are calling, or very long delays before the representative starts speaking.
I asked to be taken off their list and she was happy to do so (she was very nice).
