I was billed $5.40 on 11/4/13, and now am being billed for $4.80.  Why do the quarterly bills vary?

No policy to cancel?  Then why do they continue to take your money?

This showed up on my Chase statement with a charge for $4.95 for AD&D insurance which I never signed up for.

They are Affinion Benefits Group, representing Hartford Insurance Group.  You can contact them at 800 252 2148 to cancel your policy.

On 4/4/2013 a charge of  Thirty- Three dollars was taken out of my  Heritage Bank account for something  I have never ordered, okayed., and never even heard of It was billed like this:

           ABG*ADDINS#752068716     I called the phone number with the charge and when I told the person

named  Richard, what  i was calling for, he hung up on me.

Right...free....that's a laugh.

I pointed out this website to them and let them know that their business practices are questionable, at best, and that a lot of people feel this is a scam. Get enough people to call and complain and they just might start telling people that it indeed is not free and that charges will apply. I've been charged quarterly since 2003 and haven't received a single, "Oh, by the way, you have life insurance coverage through us" kind of notification or any statements of any kind.
They may be a legitimate company, but their business practices rival Gordon Gecko's.

OMG ! RED FLAG CALLING THAT LATE ANYWAY ,SO I CALLED CHASE CREDIT CARD CTR, CHASE IDENITY FRAUD PROTECTION..NOONE SAID THEY CALLED WELL THAT'S JUST GREAT. NOONE KNEW I CALLED CHASE SAT. TO INQUIRE ABOUT MY BAL. & PYMTS ON MY CARD!  WHAT THE HECK , THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT . SO I HAD MY CREDIT CARD CHANGED. I THINK IT'S MORE THAN THAT I BELIEVE THEY THE ( UNAVAILABLE ) WAS RECORDING MY VOICE! THIS MAKES TWICE IN 2 WKS. I GOT A CALL THAT I THOUGHT WAS RECORDING MY VOICE U CAN TELL BY THE WAY THINGS SOUNDS ,LAST CALL HAD A NO. THEY SAID WOULD U REPEAT UR NAME & DUMMY ME DID..SO UNLESS THEY KNOW MY S.S. # THEY WERE FISHING FOR INFO. IT'S STILL SCARRY THEY HAVE MY NAME I KNOW ON A RECORDER. THEY NEED MORE INFO. THAN THAT TO GET IN MY ACCOUNTS BUT ( HOW MUCH DO THEY HAVE )? BY THE WAY THEY CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE. DON'T TRUST NOONE.......

We cancelled SIX YEARS AGO... and the charge keeps coming back.  The compnay says they cant cancel it because we have to policy to cancel.

You signed up for an Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) with Alliance Benefit Group (ABG) at some point in the past. You signed up for the offer, maybe not realizing what you were signing up for.
You should be able to call the number on your Credit Card statement to cancel it.

Just called them and got it cancelled. Call 800-860-7182 to cancel. Also don't forget to ask for reimbursement form.

HAVE TRIED TO CANCEL THIS TRANSACTION WHICH IS DEDUCTED FROM EACH OF MY BANK ACCOUNTS FOR $99 AND HAVE FOLLOWED THEIR REQUIREMENTS TO FILL OUT FORMS THEY SENT TO ME TO CANCEL THIS.  I STILL GET THIS CHARGE EVERY MONTH AND THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE A WHILE.  I DON'T WANT ACCIDENTAL DEATH INSURANCE.  AND I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL ;TIMES TO CANCEL.  HOW DOES ONE STOP THESE PEOPLE.  I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE LEGITIMATE OR WHAT BUT I ASKED FOR THEM TO STOP, SENT THE PAPERWORK BACK SIGNED AND IT CONTINUES.  I AM SICK OF LOOSING SO MUCH MONEY THAT IS GOING TO A SCAM AND EVEN THOUGH I HAVE FOLLOWED THE PROTOCOL TO CANCEL IT STILL GETS DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT.....SOMEONE SOMEWHERE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHUT THEM DOWN.

I also received a call from chase today. They were very nice about it, The charge was also 12.37 to ABG-AD Dins.there was also a 53.67 an 74.80 and 80.46 all today. I am so thankful they called. But they also said it was for microsoft X Box.

Try to cancel if you are not the "policy holder" I have my wife's power of attorney. They won't cancel unless I send the original power of attorney. No guarantee that I will get it back.

We also recieved a  simular life insirance policyies bill in paper through the mail though, since reading this I will have to re-look at the statements to see if we have been previously charged for  accidental and dismemberment insurance which I know I would not waste money on, that is morbid ! who in heavens name plans to be accidentally dismembered? we all  expect to die though.. Scam

The 1000.00 coverage is for a 1 year period it states it in the paper work and if you don't cancel you will be bill  after that,  my mom is paying 16.50 every four months, I've tried to get her to cancel it, but to no avail,  I really don't much seeing her dying in an accident, since she is 83 yrs old, don't drive and only goes out of the house to go to the doctor. of which I take her.

the $1000 disability should have been for free, what you were paying for is a life insurance policy. Thats what I have and am charged for this on my credit card.

I too was mysteriously charge twice by the insurance company ABG for $12.37 each time. I just got off the phone with Chase and pleased to say that I got excellent customer service and both charges removed from my account. They close my account immediately and opened a new account for me at the same time. Just wondering how do these ppl do this kind of thing and get away with it!!! The fraud dept at Chase is sending me some paper work for my signature and they will pursue the matter further. Thank you Chase for making my day......anyone else with the same problem, just call your credit card company and you will get results like I did, I'm sure.

It doesn't work.

OMG  This is a scam.  My father has been paying this. He had no idea WHY!!!

I just discovered that the same thing was happening to my father!  I just took over his business affairs.  NOW, I know why there are scammers.  They pray on the elderly.  I canceled the card.  It was a Citi Simplicity Card.  Yeah, "real simple" to scam.

I too have just received a charge.  i do not recall a phone call, however Chase had just taken over Wamu a few months ago and issued us new cards.  i will call the 888 number and the 866-702-9283 number recommended in a prior post.  i would like some information on this insurance policy, and if it is a legitcompany ..  I'll let you know how it goes..
