I was called repeatedly on my office phone by a man who claimed to be a federal agent.  when i called back the supervisor hung up on me.  All I asked for was their address to verify the information they were requesting from me.

This guy from 213-286-6601 calls me at work and starts threatening me to hire an attorney from criminal charges on fraud etc.. I was amused.  I told him I can represent myself and that I do not need an attorney.  He put on his supervisor who yelled at me and hung upon me. When I asked for thier number they gave me 888-827-7901.  They said It was Morgan & Associates.  I will not call there but will report them to FCC.  Sounds like a scam if I ever heard of one.  I'm doing some research to see if I can get this to the FBI since it happened over state line and probably overseas judging by his lovely heavy Pakistan accent.  Don't answer if they call.

Mr. Cameron,

    It is interesting to see that you are now using the name James Cameron. You must really like the movie Avitar. Anyone who has lived outside the US and been in contact with Indians or Pakistanis will be able to see, yes I said see, that you are not an American by the sentence structure you have in your posts. Americans don't write that way and do not speak that way. What you are doing is creating animosity towards people from your part of the world. I have several friends from both India and Pakistan and have spoken to them about what you are doing and they are outraged that you would represent them in such fashion. To quote them, "You are bringing disgrace to your family by lying, and trying to cheat people out of their money." I wonder what the FBI and Homeland Security would think about what you are trying to do. I am pretty sure that they would take it seriously if people stated that they suspected the money you are trying to collect is going to fund a terrorist organization. I am pretty sure a case could be made due to the fact that you are hiding you location not giving any contact information and that your company appears to be bouncing their number through routers in several different countries. We will just have to see how it goes huh. Good luck with that.

the toll free number costs them money every time someone calls them. I would suggest the everyone call them 20+ times a day for one week. I have has sales people call me and after telling them several time to stop I have done this and after about the 4-5th day they are begging me to stop. Hit them in the pocket book.

They called me too. The number was on my caller id=011-052-7977. They said they were with a legal department and left the toll free number to call them back. 888-827-7901. When I called them and asked them the name of the company they would not say. They got abusive and told me they would come find me and hunt me down. They also said they had a hunting rifle.

In response to your claim that you use the FDCPA laws Mr. Cameron...perhaps you should learn to read first   HERE ARE THE LAWS FROM THE FDCPA WEBSITE-

What practices are off limits for debt collectors?
Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are.
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;
they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.

Hello everyone:

All I can say is that YOU are not alone! This is not the only # that they call from. You are welcome to contact the FCC but they will not be able to do much because the # on your caller ID is not correct. They use cell phone router numbers. My ID usually states a 052-(Mexico Prefix). But when they call, they give a 813 number (most frequent # provided). I have been dealing with these AHoles for well over a year now. Yes, they have an India/Pakastania dialect but they always use common names like, John Doe, Jo Martin, Sam Smith..... If you call them, block your number with *67 (most cell phones will allow this feature, if not then use a landline). They always have the same script, "This message is intended for (your name). The very second/minute that you ignore this message, will be very bad for you. I need you or your attorney of record to call me back. If you do not, then I wish you luck."

They will claim to be from CSC, CPS. CSP, FCC, Federal Recovery Special Investigator...

I usually call and b***h them out, I have told them things like my attorney of record is a federal prosecutor who is aaware of your scam and they hang up...only to call back the next day. When i call back and speak to the same person, he acts like the conversation the day before never happened.

The cash loan place that they claim you had a loan with usually does not exist or is a Pshing website.
The way the scam works is: when you apply online for a payday loan, if the bottom of the website states that they are a matching website and does not provide loans - DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR INFO.
The other problem is that you think that you are approved and sign the paper work with an online signature but you never receive the funds - or it rediects you to another matching loan website and then to 5 more and ... meanwhile they have your personal info, bank info, and personal references. So then, these idiots begin calling your references and telling them that they are federal prosecutors and XX (they will give your ref your name, DOB, ss#) and then tell them that they used their names and ss# to obtain a loan - which is not possible because references on loan applications only ask for their name and # and rarely their address but not their SS#.

Anyway, when I have called the scammer, They ask me to verify my SS# which they will tell me a number that is not always correct; or I tell them a fake # and they act as if that is what they have a on file and tell you that you need to pay thousands of dollars for attorney fees, court fees, and finance fees from a loan that is claimed to be about 2-3 years ago; but they will settle for a few hundred dollars in the form of a bank draft from your current bank acct - and then drain your account.  Even if you check your bank statements, chances are that they loan was never deposited into your acct.

Even today I received 19 phone calls from these jerks between 6am and 9am; and from several dif #s but instructed to call diff #s.  They still call my references. and tell them lies about me committing fraud with their personal info.

My favorite is when I am told that court will occur on the following Monday in California even though they claim to be in Florida and I am in the Midwest. When i ask why a loan company in Ca would ask for a collection agency from FL to file charges against a MO resident, they act like FL, MO, and CA are next to each other - which is why I believe they are somewhere on foregin soil. Every once in awhile I get fed up and call them and tell them to stop calling me and my references and take me to court. The idiot tells me that I will be seen in court on Monday - in CA. Yet, every month or so, when the calls start up again. they tell me that court is this Monday and I need to pay them immedietly. Yet, when I ask them about my case seeming to go to court every Monday - they act like Ive never called them in the past! Yet, I have never once received court papers!

Oh, and dont bother changing your phone number (cell and landline) because this will just agravate you and your friends of having to learn your new #. I switched my # 2xs but they still managed to find me.

Hello everyone,
I'm getting the same calls from a man with an indian accent.They even went so far as to call me at work. Big mistake. I am a director of a law firm. The man had a foreign accent and stated that I had taken out a payday loan from there client and never paid it back. I have never taken out a payday loan in my life.He had my social and bank information. He said if I knew what was good for me I would pay him or he would contact my manager. When I asked what his company name & contact info was he hung up on me.When I called back he told me he was filing a lawsuit against me. I told him to go ahead and he hung up on me again. He was claiming to be from U.S cash advance which is a real company out of Kentucky. They have a warning of this scam on there website. PLEASE do not give them any information or confirm any of the information that they have. To James Cameron learn how to speak proper english.

These guys are scammers from India. Apparently they hacked several financial databases which is why they may have a lot of your personal information (they had my SS#, work info, OLD bank info and more). Luckily, I figured it out before they intimidated me into giving them money for something I don't even owe. DO NOT give them any money!!

Debt Collector
I received two calls so far from these people saying they are with the legal department and attempting to collect a debt.  When they called, the caller id on my cell phone showed +0000.  When I called back and started asking questions about the name of the company they were calling from, the gentleman, who said his name was Henry told me that it was unsecured loans and when I asked if again if that was the name of the company, he said he didn't have time if I wasn't going to give him my information.  So I called again and got another gentleman on the phone and he told me he is too busy and doesn't have time to waste on me when I asked him the same thing and he hung up on me.  I called back a few times and kept getting this same gentleman and he told me to call back on Monday with my attorneys. I thought something was fishy when they refused to give me their information. I just want to know how they got my cell number, and name and state I live in. It's scary that they can get access to this information.

I keep receiving phones calls at my place of employment from men claiming to be lawyers.  These men are from India and are rude, harassing, and threatening and extremely hard to understand. The calls happen back to back and they refuse to take no for an answer. When asked about the alleged debt they can?t provide me any information. This company obviously has bought a list of names and they are trying to get money out of who ever they can intimidate.

I have received the same kind of phone call from this number and unfortunately I did not know it was a scam unitl now and they have gotten 400.00 out of me. I am from Tennessee and I plan to report this to the attorney general and see if we can get these guys. Same thing I was told that it a legal department to retrieve money for a payday loan that I did not owe for but because they threatened me I was scared and fell into their trap. Everyone be aware and don't let them trick you. Hang up on them. The names that I was given were Adam Ryan and Henry?. They said that their attorneys name was Christopher Watkins.

I have a questions, serious question, did any of you take out an installment loan with First Bank of Deleware before all of this happened? Thats the only way I can see they got my info. I did it online and then wasn't able to pay it back. I defaulted on the loan and they FBD (First Bank Deleware) never called me. I got my taxes back and called them to pay it and they offered me a settlement from 945 down to $500 even. So they lost all that interest. Sounds to me like they had a security leak and know it and they are just trying to prevent a big uproar and keep customers from knowing. This guy, Ivan Butler called a friend of mine today and told her that she needed to have me call her ASAP before I went to jail. His # was 888-827-7901.

Keep getting threating calls from these people.  Someone name Shawn Miller and Henry Scott  claiming to be from Legal Department re: a debt of mine.  I said to them if this is my debt it was an oversite and I would be willing to take care of it. Then they were offering a deal to pay off the debt, but did not want to send me proof that this is my debt. I tried to get a address or location for them but was not able to do so.  I played along and act as if I was going to send them money so I could investigate them.   The keep calling and I ask for information to prove this they want me to give them my attorney's name or managers name so they can send court papers to.  I just hung up.
