They called and said it was Citizens Bank and they wanted to switch me to the new account they told me about when I was in the bank. I don't remember any of this or even being in their bank. I tried to get off the phone, saying I had to go somewhere right then and they kept pushing needing info for this account. They had called 3 times that day right before this, and I was away from the phone. It was 888-831-5717. It was a woman who sounded as though English was not her chosen language.

Definitely RBS. I rarely post something like this, but this is a legitimate number. If you are an RBS customer, it is a legitimate call. When I received a replacement card from them, the 888-831-5717 was on the sticker you call to activate it, as further verification. I encourage you to take their call if you are in doubt.

I got the same as others on this post! It went into voice mail and it was Rebecca from RBS...then the message go cut off.

Update: it was a recorded msg from citizens bank.

Citizens bank - voice mail was left as a reminder to activate my new credit card. (all good)

Unsolicited call from this number, didn't pick up. No VM left. I have a card with Citizens but it's already activated and I haven't ordered a new one. From the looks of things, this number is a total scam and no one should trust it.

Charter One bank. I have card with them. They did not call me, it came on an activation sticker.

Got a call from this number on my cell at 4:11 p.m. Friday Jan. 13, 2012. I didn't pick up because I didn't know who it was or what it was about.

I verified that it is RBS / Charter One.

Msg claimed to be from RBS/Citizen's Bank about activating a credit card that we did not order or receive.    I called the number back and they would not look up the information without my SS# which I refused to give.    I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up.

Phone call went into voicemail, but left no message.

left a message about activating a credit card i don't have and didn't sign up for.
