888-831-8326 keeps calling my 12 year old's NEW cell #.  I called it back and its a recording from NCO Financial?!? This cell # is on the Do Not call list.

I received a call from this no. It was a pre-recorded from NCO Financial. They are attempting to collect an old debt that was written off 10 yrs. ago. The statue to limitations to report and collect this debt have long  since  expired but that does not matter to them.  They buy old debts for 2-3 cents/dollar and try to collect them.  I have not heard from them for yrs. but noticed they had obtained a copy of my credit report in June 2010. If I admitted who I was or agreed to pay $1.00 on the acct., it would re-start the 7 yr. period that would place it back on my credit report. For more info, go to Fair-Debt Collection.com.
Debts are only collectible for a certain period of time, it is different in all states. My remedy: the answering machine plays the following message" We're sorry, messages to this number cannot be accepted" then disconnects. It is such fun to listen to it!

I have gotten three calls TODAY. I ignored the first two; when the third call came, I got curious and when I picked up , there was a recording identifying the caller as NCO.  I immediately disconnected.  The call was to a cell phone that is in my husband's name; my name is not attached in any way.  I had previous encounters with NCO regarding an very old SATISFIED credit card account that was in my name only. The last activity on the account was over ten years ago.  After I sent several Cease and Desist letters, the calls to my home number stopped; I'm wondering how they got this number.

RECEIVED 3 CALLS ON MY CELL PHONE - 3/27/08, 4/16/06, 4/18/08 AND REGISTEREDE MY CELL PHONE NUMBER SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. PLEASE ENSURE THAT THESE CALLS ARE NO LONGER DIRECTED TO MY PHONE. THANKS
